We came here one night and have now been back 3 times in less than 2 weeks. I feel like that says something lol especially since the drive here is about 40 min. They allow up to 2 samples of their flavors per person and when we arrived on a Friday night around 8pm with our toddler, there was a line wrapped around the corner. I went to the park with our little one while my husband waited on the line. The gelato is creamy and delicious and the fruit flavors are bold and refreshing! We got the Pistachio as well as the mango, blueberry and strawberry flavors. The child cup is 6.50 with 1 flavor, the regular size with up to 2 flavors is $8, the 3 flavor cup is 9 and I think I stopped looking lol but a pint is $14. The prices you see are also inclusive of tax - European style, which we appreciated. It is a bit pricey for what look like teeny cups, but the ingredients are organic where they can be and it has all been consistently delicious. They also pack the cups pretty well. The sidewalk-facing display at L'albero dei Gelati makes it an easy place to stop in, especially on warm days. I like that their menu is a mix of classic gelato flavors and combinations are more unexpected. Recently, I visited and tried the goat cheese with strawberry coulis. It was creamy, tangy, and not overly sweet. I ended up coming back two days later for another scoop! They also offered my dog a treat while we were there, which was nice. A small quaint gelato booth on the way towards Atlantic Barclay! The workers are always friendly and offer free samples if you'd like to try any flavors. My favorites are the pistachio and the mango gelatos so far! The line can get a bit long during peak dinner times so I'd recommend coming maybe around 3/4 before families start flocking in after their dinners. The price is a bit high imo, I get the kids cup or kids cone which is more than enough for me and that's $6.50, but I'd still come back for sure haha read more

I came here a few weeks ago with two of my childhood friends for an after dinner treat. I haven't been to Park Slope in a while and wasn't sure if this place survived the pandemic. I was pleased to see that they were still open after all these years! The last time I came here, I had amazing experience. I spoke with the owners, who explained the process of making gelato and were kind enough to have me sample their intriguing flavors. I really appreciated the owners taking the time to do this as this was my very first time trying authentic gelato. This time around, although the quality of gelato remained the same, I can't say the same about the customer service. I'm not sure if the workers were having a rough day but I felt a bit rushed when they were taking our order. When we got to the front window, we first asked the workers if the shop offered samples. They quickly replied, "We have a two sample limit". We may have misinterpreted their tone, but my friends and I thought their tone was a bit stern. I also felt this reply was uncalled for. I've never had an experience at any gelato/ice cream shop where I was told there was a 2 sample limit. I guess things here changed post pandemic. If that is the case, the shop should place a sign at the window to let the customers know about this 2 sample limit. Nonetheless, the gelato was amazing! I really enjoyed the new salted pistachio flavor and I got a small to go box of three flavors (chocolate hazelnut, salted caramel, and a new flavor of almond/cherry/short biscuit) to bring back to my family. Oh my god. A must go, so so delicious and interesting. They change the flavors all the time and there's something there for everyone. Risks be damned - I really enjoyed this flavor. I noticed that many of the customers in front of me were ordering the hazelnut gelato - I've heard it's the best thing ever. It's a small storefront and you order directly at the front window. It's there that you're hit with that gorgeous paradox of choice. There is a ton of flavors you're going to want and once you try the gelato, you'll long for the flavors that you missed. (It's a few days later and I can still remember the ones that got away, I'm thinking about you pumpkin with amaretti) The woman working when we were there was helpful, she recommended a flavor to complement the other choices that I'd made. We both went with the three scoop medium size, so that we could try multiple flavors. I enjoyed the butter and salt, chocolate, and straciatella flavors. My friend enjoyed his flavors as well. All were somehow rich but also light. The butter and salt delivered butter flavor without making me feel like I was eating a scoop of butter, the crystals of salt were a great addition. This is a great place to get gelato! I've sampled a bunch of their flavors, both the sorbets and creamier gelatos, and they're on point. They have a great mix of sweet and more savory flavors. My favorite is the blueberry cheesecake flavor, but the panna and caramello, or sweet milk and homemade caramel, is surprisingly wonderful. I normally steer clear of caramel because it's so overwhelmingly rich and sweet, but this one is more of a fresh, thinner drizzle that has the perfect sweetness. So let me breakdown my rationale for my review in two separate components: Gelato: Unique and deliciously-tasting flavors with a large variety to choose from! The pear and grape were some of our favorites since you can literally taste the actual fruits in the creamy gelato. I definitely recommend coming here for the unique flavors and I promise you won't regret it! Now if the gelato deserved such praise, why is it only 3 stars? Service: The lady at the gelato counter was visibly irritated and made sure to sigh out loud multiple times whenever we asked for something, whether it was to get a bag to carry our ice cream pints to-go (which seem like something you wouldn't need to even ask if you're purchasing multiple pints...), or to try a few flavors to see which one we liked the most (we tried 4, which I would like to think was not too unreasonable). Her dissatisfaction-ridden facial expression and her dismissive attitude really makes this sweet experience extremely bitter, which is so unfortunate because I heard the other lady was so kind, sweet, and even offered our friends more flavors to try just so we know what to get the next time we come back. So overall, if you just want to get your gelato-fix and don't care about service, definitely come and try their flavors before they close down for the season! Yes I enjoyed my delish meal at L'Albero Dei Gelati. It is a sweet establishment with down to earth Italian food. We started off with hearts of artichoke with treatment of seasoning/oil so delish for the pallet. Then we moved forward to the pasta (home made) dish with an amazing bean sauce the flavor was unbeatable so darn yummy. We also had a superb grilled octopus Accompanied with potatoes and olives my goodness what an outstanding dish. Please note this meal was shared by two with my hubby which I absolutely love. The dishes on the menu in general are definitely meant to share so you can have a true Italian experience. I had an outstanding huge cup of cappuccino so creamy I love the foam. This cute little Park Slope single-window storefront has a small footprint, but packs a big punch. It has some of the best gelato in New York City, no joke. The quality of the ingredients is impeccable, and they have a pretty impressive array of flavors for such a small place. I tried coffee, hazelnut, and cinnamon, and they were all superb. The cinnamon was especially great since it's quite a rare flavor for gelato/ice cream- if you're a fan of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (who isn't, right?), then you'll love it.
