    Chocolate chunk cone
    Varsha T.

this is an ice cream shop located outdoors in the brooklyn bridge park area near the soccer field and basketball courts. i stopped by on a weekday evening, and they had a lot of fun options on the menu. however, one thing to note is that you're not able to sample flavors beforehand, which can make choosing a bit difficult. i went with my go-to, a chocolate ice cream on a cone, and it was very good. it was creamy, decadent, and rich, and perfect for a hot summer day. i do wish i could have tried some of the other flavors, since they had a lot of fun and unique combinations. there was no line when i went, but while i was nearby on the field, i did notice a steady line throughout the evening. the service was overall great. also, there is no seating in the immediate area, but it's a nice place to walk around and enjoy your ice cream.

Offshoot of Oddfellows very conveniently located right at the heart of Pier 5 (if you're walking around Brooklyn Bridge Park) On those super hot summer days you'll be EXTREMELY thankful (like I was) that they are right where they are when you're in need of some really delightful and refreshing ice cream. This shop offers single, double, triple scoops or flights for the adventurous with 10 different flavors to pick from. I decided to get a single scoop of Strawberry Jam (Strawberry ice cream with swirls of fresh strawberry jam) on a sugar cone to share with my family and it was just what the doctor ordered. I admit, I'm absolutely addicted to anything strawberry, especially ice cream, so I couldn't resist the Strawberry Jam. Was it a question I would like it? Nope. As expected, it was tasty, delicious and amazingly refreshing. And my kids would attest to that opinion too, so it's kid approved. Yes, it was a bit on the pricey side at $6.51 for a single scoop, but you can't put a price on really good, solid ice cream. Definitely a good investment while strolling around the park.

Miso Cherry. Very unique and equally tasty

Located nearby some of the more picturesque parts of Brooklyn Bridge Park, this is one of the multiple locations of this ice cream spot with many unique flavors. I have tried a few flavors but my favorite by a lot is one of their more popular ones; the Miso Cherry. Consisting of miso butterscotch ice cream base paired with sweet cherries, it is very tasty. I'm usually not the biggest fan of sweet cherries (and especially if there are chunks) but it works quite well here combined with the semi-sweet ice cream. The Passionfruit Apricot Pistachio I had once with passionfruit ice cream, apricot jam ribbons, and chopped pistachios was also solid as well though I wish there was more of a pistachio flavor. The price is a tad high but hey it's in a park and the flavors are unique enough. Would recommend if you're walking through

Another Ny warm day Whoot whoot. I joined the line to try a new flavor at odd fellows. Today i ordered the COOKIES & MINT that had Mint ice cream swirled with crushed chocolate cookies. I loved that it wasn't too sweet and that the cookies tasted like brownies. The mint is not overpowering. The mint ice cream had a subtle taste with smooth "brownie like" pieces inside. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed eating this flavor. I hope mango mochi sticky rice flavor will be still available next time I go. The staff is super patient and kind. It's an ice cream stall with outdoor benches to sit on

OddFellows took over the sweet spot occupied by Ample Hills on the Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier, but unfortunately had to open amidst Covid, protests, curfew, etc. etc. Still, it's a great spot for the summer months, and will undoubtedly have a line soon as more and more people forget all about social distancing and everybody packs into parks with the nice weather. Right on the water, it's a perfect spot for ice cream with a view before or after a walk along the pier.

Didn't think apple pie and cheddar was a good combo, but looked interesting. Oddfellows really knocks it out of the park with these combos though! You can definitely taste each part of the name. This outpost didn't have as many flavors though and seemed to run out of cones and everything though. So come early if you want a flavor of choice.

If you find yourself down by the peir this is a really nice treat. The scoops were a decent size for the price and tasted great. I had a vegan scoop and a regular and couldn't taste any difference. They change the options regularly which is nice for variety but bad if you were going to get the same flavor on a repeat visit. The location is really nice as there is a great view of Manhattan along the river walk. Nearby is a park, picnic tables and a playground for small children.

Omg the ice cream is soooo good! I got the Chocotouro ( something like that ) highly recommend. Pretty pricy for one scoop tho!

Great ice cream! They had a few vegan flavors, which is always nice to see. The flavors were rich and delicious. Recommended!

The soft serve ice cream here is far above average making the experience all around amazing. A favorite menu item of mine is their small custard or red bean filled fish waffles. They are made to order & soooo good! Do not try & order these before closing because they will say no! This is a grab & go type of business. There are no tables for dining in. Street parking is free & on typical NYC/Little Italy/Chinatown parking. I have had good luck when arriving as late as possible. One of my favorite spots. I hope it never closes. The ice cream is thick and creamy but not as rich as American brands. The hojicha flavor is strong and really good and was definitely the dominant flavor, so the matcha got a little lost. The red bean was buried at the bottom of the cone but was good too. The taiyaki cone wasn't that great. I could taste salt, it wasn't sweet, and the batter had a bit too much flour. The texture was very crispy though which I did love. The rainbow mochi was tasty, soft, and you could taste the different flavors. The wafer stick was unnecessary. We both prefer Somi Somi, which is also dairy free, but I will say their hojicha is worth trying.

Chinatown Ice Cream Factory was only steps away, so it only made sense for us to check it out. I had heard of CICF before - it has become pretty well known on social media and my brother also frequents this area and has spoken of it. The space is small - outside of a small area indoors to queue up there is no other seating or area for customers. There was a small line when we arrived but it moved quickly; I can see foot traffic being an issue when they're being slammed though as there is no efficient flow of customers in and out. But I mean, it must be working for them - this spot is incredibly popular. Anyway, they have a good selection of ice cream flavors - some common ones and other more unique ones. I decided to try the vanilla fudge which was quite good; I could tell the ice cream itself was quality, and there was a generous helping of fudge ribboned throughout. Service was good - they were working the line well and before I knew it I was outside enjoying. Overall, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory was great - the ice cream was delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to return to explore more of their flavors.

We tried the melon shaved ice $22 for the large which was a bit pricy but it was quite delicious. We were worried that the large might be too much for two people but honestly we were able to finish it without a problem. The melon pieces were sweet, the ice is milk based so it was creamy and flavorful on its own. We barely used the condensed milk that it came with (and we loved how they put it on the side for us instead). At the bottom of the shaved ice was cereal pieces and mochi which gave a nice different texture. We also tried their drinks specifically their blue lemonade and mango-ade which I thought was just ok. The highlight is definitely their shaved ice. Definitely go for the large as the small seemed much smaller and for double the price, you can get almost 2-3x more. Overall: it's a great place to grab a shaved ice and relax . The atmosphere is chill and you can stay without feeling rushed.

What I got instead was a cup of sadness with commitment issues. The shaved ice somehow had no flavor. None. I have had ice cubes straight from my freezer with more personality. Easily the most disappointing dessert I have had in NYC, and I have been living here my whole life, so please take that as you will. I kept waiting for the "sweet moment" to arrive and it never did. Just me, flavorless ice, and regret. If you are craving dessert, keep walking. This was a moment, yes, but sweet it was not.

Finally decided to wait in the long line one day after dinner. It took around 20ish minutes to get to the front of the line. It moved a bit faster than I thought it would. I think I do enjoy froyo more than ice cream because it's less sweet, but I couldn't see how this place stood out amongst other froyo places. They only had 6 flavors to choose from too. You get to try the flavors though! The chocolate and mango were my favorite flavors. The vanilla was good too and not too sweet. They had a blank street matcha flavor, but it had a weird matcha taste and wasn't that strong. The raspberry flavor was too sour and artificial for my liking. And I found out I don't like plain tart because it's too sour and tastes too much like yogurt. The topping selection was decent though. I really loved the mochi because it was so soft.
