They could blame the excessive number of seats, but peeking into the open kitchen, it became very obvious where the problem was. Throughout the night, the service staff can be seen perpetually apologizing to each table. The wait staff truly tried their best, but when the kitchen is disorganized and run by guys who truly seem to not give a damn, the wait staff, and ultimately the patrons suffer. The caprice of the evening was when I suggested to the kitchen that they cover to post tips their wait staff are losing due to their inability to get an order out in under 45 minutes. Their response was "Get the f"*k out of here loser". Was I over the top? Perhaps, but the kitchen and management should be aware that if you are going to populate a terrace with more seats than the kitchen can competently service, there will be a problem. At 900 degrees a pizza cooks in about 2 minutes. Getting a pizza from order to table should not take 45 minutes. And to be served a pizza with an overly charred and bitter crust is unacceptable. I truly feel for the wait staff. They are being undermined by the back end operation. AITA?

Service was very, very attentive... perhaps overly attentive, with 3 different people checking on us, breaking up the conversation and whisking plates away that weren't entirely finished. We had to ask the servers to stop refilling our wine glasses, gave us a feeling of being rushed. And I know this is a personal pet peeve of mine, but servers please, can we stop asking diners " are we still working on this? " This question really ticks me off and makes me feel like a horse at a trough. I'm not at work, I'm trying to enjoy the meal you prepared for me at my own pace. Lastly, one of us did not enjoy the calamari... wondered if it was frozen as it had a fishy, not-fresh taste. I will say the server appreciated the feedback and removed this from the bill.

This was a well know, much loved, staple business in the community. I begged him for years to give me the recipe for his Souvlaki sauce. He never gave in. I flew to Montreal and paid a visit just to see Angelo and have some pizza like the old days with him, and even knowing I lived in BC, he still wouldn't give me that dam recipe for his secret sauce. I ended up buying an entire empty 2Ltr Pepsi bottle full of that sauce and brining it back to BC with me on the flight, securely packed in a back so as to not lose a drop. Again, thank you for the many, many years of great customer service, great food, providing my wife and an awesome place to go for date nights.
