She looked through her schedule for the day, and surprisingly she asked if I could make it in today at 2:30 PM. I did. We have stayed here for Rod Run for over a decade, when it was a KOA it was amazing, what it is now…read moreis a dump. It literally smelled like a dump the minute we pulled in due to the massive dumpster they had in the center of the property (which was full, would've been smart to empty before a packed weekend); the overflow camping area is not maintained and looks like campers have lived there for many years - this is where we camped. Our site wasn't cleaned before we arrived so we picked up trash and dog sh*t before setting up. The "fire pits" are rusty old wheels chucked on the ground so don't expect to fit regular firewood in them. Bathrooms appeared clean at first glance but the curtain situation over toilets is gross, they're covered in brown and red stains (you can't wipe & sanitize fabric daily, so idk what they were thinking there- at least use a liner or something that can be cleaned!). The old KOA cabins are still on site but back right up to that dumpster so I wouldn't recommend the first 4-5 of those in the row. I'm giving 2 stars bc we could fit an RV, 2 trucks and a car hauler in one site, the gal in the office let us keep our vehicles there on checkout day so we could spend the day in seaside with one vehicle. We have made some great memories at this place but I think it's time to move on for us.
