Hugo was one of the first to respond to my project through Yelp with the information and quote I requested. He also had the most reasonable pricing and quickest availability which was great given that we contacted him Thanksgiving week. He even cleaned the carpet around our couch at no cost since he noticed we have two young kiddos who spend a lot of time around there. We will definitely contact this business again when needed!

    Hired Quam's for carpet and sofa cleaning. The "crew" -- later learned they were the owners --…read moreentered without shoe covers, barely spoke, and were immediately rude. I felt so uneasy I called the company to verify they were legitimate. Turns out, the woman I called was the cleaner. I was instantly creeped out and asked her to leave my house. As they were gathering their things, the man and woman -- the owners -- started berating me. The man even shouted, "Hope you're happy -- you got your carpets cleaned for free!" I was standing halfway outside on my patio, phone in hand, ready to call the police, keeping my small dog close because I was that frightened. They left stains and soaked carpets behind. The whole experience was frightening and unsafe. Maybe this is considered acceptable service in the Pacific Northwest -- back home in Texas, we'd call it exactly what it was: dangerous and unprofessional.

Do I think they are the best carpet cleaners in Vancouver, absolutely not. Do I think they have the best, latest and greatest equipment, absolutely not. But they are local, their employees who come to do the job are friendly, they always offer a flat fee for the pet stains which I appreciate since we have many and the stains are typically gone for a month before they come back. Which I count on, so I plan my cleanings around events etc. Last time we had them out to clean, the technician knocked his cleaner from the top of the stairs to the landing which broke out one of the railings on our banister. He did not let me know this happened. I heard what sounded like something falling down the stairs, him saying oh S%*t, and when I called from the other room to say is everything OK in there, he said yep everything's fine! Later that day I realized what had happened when I looked up and saw one of the railings bent out. I was able to shove it back in. Just missing a strip of wood that goes across the top. Not sure where that little strip of wood went. Anyway, I didn't bother to call and let them know it had happened because I know it was an accident and I didn't want this guy to be in trouble. I also didn't want them to have to pay an expense to fix it. It is very expensive to own a small business. Right before quarantine we had someone out to do some maintenance on our front door. The person they sent had no idea how to fix what I needed fixed but continued to act like he did. Even leaving once, to go to Home Depot. I was charged for about six hours of labor that someone who had known how to fix what needed fixing could've done in much less time. After a few days it needed to be fixed again. I called to see if we could have someone else come out and because we were now in quarantine we would have to wait. Which was totally fine. They did finally come out and fix what we needed to have done, in about 10 minutes. Both of the guys who came out to fix our front door were very nice. The first one had no clue as to what he was doing but made up for that in kindness and personality. The second one was also kind but also knew what he was doing. Yesterday one of the technicians came out to clean the carpet. I had to work so I left my husband in charge of the carpet cleaning. Long story short, what I imagine, is that they treated my husband how I would've been treated had I gone into an auto repair shop. My husband has never been home when the carpet cleaner has come or heard me talk with them about pricing. They always offer a discount if they realize the enzyme cleaning is going to be very expensive. I have never paid more than $175 for the enzymes. This cleaning they charged us $365 for the same thing we've had done many times before. When I called the technician after my husband let me know the pricing he said, I don't know anything about a flat fee, this is what he agreed to. I was always offered a flat fee, so I am confused as to why they didn't offer my husband the same thing. When I called the office to speak with someone regarding the pricing she was extremely rude to me and kept raising her voice. We were disconnected. When I finally was able to connect with her again on the phone I let her know what was happening, explained our past experience with Quams and she was a little more understanding and less abrasive. When I called this morning and was finally able to speak with the owner he was extremely rude and said, your dog Peed all over the floor, it's not my problem. WOW! Small businesses can't afford to treat customers this way. I won't be using Quams again and if you choose to, just be prepared. Oh and as I write this review another technician from Quams called and asked if they had left their equipment at our house. Nope, sorry guys. I'm just realizing they never raked our carpet yesterday either.
