I have had issues with contractors or people working on my house in the past. But L&L Door and Window was an absolute joy to work with. Amazing quality product, customer service, and install quality. After they were done they "finished" it with proper framing around the door, covering nail holes, and caulking everything!!! Also, when my wife accidentally messed up the caulking they came back out and fixed it no problem. My project manager Scott was on top of everything. Omar the installer made sure we were happy with everything. Bruce helped us choose our new door and listened to all the issues we were having with our current door, wish we did this years ago. Ordered replacement Milgard windows and patio doors in dark color to match original color. Windows and doors were scratched during installation which revealed white finish. Obviously they were originally white and then repainted dark. I noticed that I could easily remove the paint with my finger nail. Waited six weeks for the factory rep to show up and say he wasn't told to do anything about it. L and L came out months later and touched up the white spots but did not fix the problem. I will likely have more white scratches in the future. No solution from L and L. One patio screen would not slide after installation. Took two trips over six months to fix it. Definitely would not recommend. read more

I ordered black frame retro fit windows. In return I got new construction windows. On my purchase agreement it states, "retro fit/black frame". I waited for 6 weeks for the incorrect material, I even spoke to there distributor about the error. Best case scenario for when they mess up your order, they will ask you to purchase another set but this time it will be at wholesale. Wow, how generous. All in all, this is a unprofessional business with pseudo intellectuals in charge. Reply : Maybe you should have someone answering the phone with the ability to understand retro fit from new construction? Even the measurements I sent which you used to order the size, had retrofit circled on them. I clearly spoke to Paige about "retro fit" and it's my fault I didn't catch the error from your company? Maybe you should have a disclaimer that you have a history of ordering the wrong materials and contractors are needed to ensure LL doesn't butcher the order. Your company clearly knows how to read the credit card portion of that form because the payment was accepted. I'm not the first customer you've had that received the wrong materials, and given your service and staff- I know I won't be the last. read more

First of all, we were surprised and upset when a December Installation date that had been set up in September was moved eleven days before it, without warning or explanation, to January. We'd heard from our 'foreman' about all of our preparation responsibilities prior to the installation, but had nothing more from him. We'd begun preparing just after Thanksgiving. This is a company that relies on its customers to tell them how to assess and carry out their job . Not only did the salesman fail to count all of the windows that were to be replaced, but he, the owner, and another employee also failed to adequately examine the installation needed for the sliding patio door they were to replace. The original door had a threshold that a wheelchair could cross, as do all of the doors in our house. We didn't know of their failure to look at it until the workers began to install the replacement door. We immediately told them that the 1-3/4 inch threshold they had created for the new slider was unacceptable. We stopped the installation and began trying to resolve the problem. L&L's response was to blame us for not pointing out that this was a ramped, handicapped accessible entrance, although the salesman, owner, and another employee had walked up, down and over three different ramps when they measured all the openings, twice. When the project foreman made his first appearance on the last day of the job, he commented that we looked healthy, i.e. not like we needed a door with handicapped access. Additionally, among the 'threads' of the office email L&L asked us to use were two comments about us by the foreman, Scott McManaman. One claimed we were 'confused' and were 'BS-ing' because we didn't get our way. The other lamely joked that we should have been told by the owner to 'kick rocks'. The owner never responded to a request that he come to see the issue and work with us on a solution. L&L suggested a new ramp up and over the new threshold, or removing the door and replacing it with plywood while we found another contractor to finish the job. We found one. GM Windows came out quickly. In two hours they reinstalled the door, and were able to lower the threshold to reduce the trip/fall hazard. (Our 18 year-old dog, who had hurt her leg jumping over the L&L threshold, was especially grateful, as were we.) We are checking all the windows. On several of them we've found sharp vinyl edges on the lower part of the window slides. Perhaps if the work had been checked...? As to value for the money? Mediocre. Sadly, L&L's response when a problem with their work is pointed out is to blame the customer. (Note their responses to other less than 5-star reviews.) Taking responsibility and working toward a resolution that works for both parties used to be called Customer Service. Had L&L been willing to work with us, rather than walking away in self-serving denial of the issues, perhaps we could give them a better rating. Our rating reflects our very stressful experience with them and our desire to spare future customers from the same. We suggest prospective customers check and double-check their expectations regarding this company's performance before signing a contract. Sadly, the 'Buyer Beware' caution is needed here. Lance the owner would not take my call. Felicia did not communicate well with me on rebates even though we went over details. But apparently miss a najor detail. I followed up with her about the rebate and she says it takes a few months. I called to followed up a few months later but it was too late to submit. She knows what's required not me and I was asking questions. The rebate of $500 was missed. On Lance's TV ads he say he backs up his work. Well if the owner won't talk to you over a $500 on a $18,000 job then that!s very poor customer service. read more

What can I say but professional service. We replaced a old French door with a sliding door. Wait time for the slider to be made was about 6-8 weeks, upon every week we received updated emails . L and L was wonderful to work with, they kept us informed the whole time and came and completed the job in a timely manner. We ordered the windows and doors in April and the were installed in November during the pandemic and supply shortages. All the subs involved in the construction were on time and completed there work so the next group could start. We had a wall removed, and replaced with doors. All entire job took just two weeks. They cleaned up every night so the house was not disrupted. Scott came every morning to make sure all the workers were here, they knew what there job was for the day and came back in the afternoon to check the work was accomplished. Made an appointment one week out for an in-home estimate. I received two emails reminding me of the appointment. Half way into the appointment time, Lance called and said the estimator had an unexpected walk-in and would be late. I have a standing appointment for one week, and I am asked to wait for someone with no appointment. They call well pass the appointment time to tell me they are on the way. By this time I am making dinner. I tell them this is all too rude and not to bother coming. I don't recommend this place for their rude, inconsiderate behavior. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S COMMENT: What can I say? Obviously no one ever taught you it is inconsiderate to inconvenience someone with an appointment in order to accommodate a customer with no appointment. Your call did not ask whether it would be okay to come late, but rather dictated you were going to be late due to a customer that had no appointment. You should have just said you were running late, would it be okay to come late or would I like to reschedule. I didn't need to know my job was so unimportant to you that I was being bumped for a "walk-in." A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. And it is rather inappropriate and again rude to comment on my review history with Yelp to make implications of my character. read more

So far I've only done an estimate, but that alone made me want to write a really strong review. Paige came out and did an estimate for ~20 windows and 2 sliders for my house. She was really wonderful to talk to- and we spent quite a bit of time not only talking about the windows but about other aspects of the house, since i had just moved to the area. She really took time to get a better sense of what was important to me, and she had a solid perspective and recommendation of what would be a good value for my home as a result. It's really daunting to have all your windows replaced because of the cost, and having someone who is not just looking to sell you up (like a different estimate I got) but trying to understand what's important to you and your goals and tailor to that is awesome. Paige also gave me a lot of advice on other aspects of my home that were really helpful. Based on my contractor's recommendation, in September 2015, I contracted with L&L Contracting for the replacement of three sliding doors, and seven windows with Milgard's dual glazed, Sun Coat Max, argon gas, Edgeguard Max product, and one bathroom exit door. I met with L&L personnel at my home on three occasions to make sure the window and door dimensions were accurate, as this project was not for standard "same size replacement", but we were enlarging the openings to accommodate windows which were the same size as those originally installed when the house was built in 1958. My statements were very clear that I wanted the windows to begin at the same height as the sliding doors and go to the floor, which would be 80" x 69". THREE times we discussed and confirmed the window sizes during meetings in my home. The windows that L&L ordered and delivered were 72" x 72" !!! I refused the installation and asked for another meeting with my contractor and Luke, L&L's owner. Luke looked me in the eye and said "I will do whatever is required to make you happy." Fifteen minutes later Luke took my contractor outside and claimed that he would be responsible for any costs and that L&L would not replace the windows, as they would win in any litigation. L&L accepted no responsibility for the error. I either had to accept the windows or my contractor would have to absorb the cost and reorder new windows. So I chose to accept windows that were sizes that I didn't want and didn't ask for. During the installation, L&L severed an electrical line and refused to repair it, claiming it had not been originally installed correctly. L&L also reversed the hinge placement of the new bathroom exit door, saying that was how they normally hung doors, while acknowledging that I had requested it be hung like the original door. After installation, I discovered defects in two of the Milgard windows. L&L REFUSED to contact Milgard on my behalf to help me. My contractor did contact them and Milgard replaced the defective windows. The above information is true based on my experience with L&L Contracting. Don't be fooled by the low key, down home, 'we are small and will take care of you' selling technique. Just know that if there are no problems, your project should progress as desired. But if there are problems, know that it will be your fault 100%. Prospective buyer BEWARE! read more
