We had a specific breaker issue (that had been already assessed by two companies). L & R came out quickly, re-assessed the situation, and discussed service options. They took payment on-site. The problem is that they never followed up about either of the service options or replied after attempts to reach out to them. So, essentially, we were back at square one, having paid for a service call, and only getting a re-assessment of the situation (which we didn't need). Rosalinda, the boss's wife just emailed me a copy of a really old invoice and then called me and accused me of not paying an invoice from work that was done a year and a half ago. I told her I pay all my bills immediately. She asked "well how did you pay us then?" I said "I don't remember". She has the audacity to reply with an attitude "You don't remember?" Like I am stupid or something for not remembering something that happened a year and a half ago! Do you remember what you ate for lunch 2 weeks ago? Exactly. Like it's my job to keep receipts for years and years and know off the top of my head how I paid every single vendor in the last two years. Word of advice if you use these people, make sure you pay them by check, and keep a copy of that check forever. Because Rosalinda may call you two to three years later talking 'bout "you owe us money!" And guess what? If you don't have proof you paid her she can easily put a lien on your house until you finally pay her for something you already paid her for. read more

Louis responded within an hour and with a competitive quote which I really appreciated. In my experience other contractors try to come out to scope the project and then try a hard pressure sale on the spot in person. Louis sent a crew out the following day. They were very professional. I appreciate the care they took in taking their shoes off, and being careful moving ladders throughout the house. After they finished the job, they alerted me that the ceiling fan would need to be at an angle because of the pitch angle in my ceiling. So not parallel to the ground. I bought the wrong fan - this was totally on me. Louis' crew was very helpful to spring into action and explain to me a few options to fix it. I am so so glad that we hired L&R electric. They came and installed three ceiling fans for us upstairs. When they went to install them none of them were up to code. Which isn't shocking because the previous owners of our home were do it themselves types of people and cut corners. With a new baby on the way having everything up to code was vital to me and I knew that the changes were made safely for our son. They also installed a generator outlet for us and new panel. This was so important to me because we went five days without water and power last year during the storm, and we will have a newborn during that time. I had a electrician out very quickly to give me a quote, high $300 to mid $400 for a new outlet for a welder. Once the official quote came in, it was actually in the high $300's... that made me happy. They were out the next day to install the outlet and did a good job. The tech did have to make a couple of trips to Home Depot for parts (he didn't come out in a company vehicle) and he did forget to seal the exterior opening... minus 1 star. But the price and turn around time negates those issues and I'm giving 5 stars for the price, quick scheduling and the actual outlet installation. I sealed the opening myself just out of convenience but they did offer to come back and do it. read more

I used L&R for the installation of a interlock kit, 50amp plug in outlet for my generator and added a main breaker switch at my outside box. L&R quoted me the best bid out of 3 total local electricians and the job was exactly what we needed. They even placed the plug directly next to our Natural gas outlet without charging extra for the custom placement vs just installing it right by the breaker box. Our whole home can now run effectively off our portable Natural Gas generator for the next inevitable winter power outage or summer rolling black outs. Asked if I had electricity. I told them I did, so it wasn't an emergency, but they came out the same day I called. I had an entire circuit go out on my circa 70's house full of aluminum wiring. Luis showed up, went through the panel, then trouble shooting. I was prepared to upgrade panel or at least replace breaker in an old original panel. But Luis found it was a scorched receptacle that was the wrong type for aluminum wire, and incorrectly installed by my brother in-law. So that when it fried it took out the rest of the circuit. Found and fixed it all, in couple of hours, and charged me way less than I thought I was going to end up spending. I am getting an estimate from him to go ahead and upgrade panel, because I want to, not because he pressured me in any way. I needed an electrician to run & bury wire, about 100' worth, plus add some outlets for pumps, lights & etc. Yelp asked if I wanted to send the request for bids to multiple firms and I clicked "yes. " The bid went to five electrical contractors. The first to respond was L & R Electric, and they were available the next day, to assess the job and prep a bid. Out of 5, 1 firm never responded, two more made appointments and came to assess & bid. One guy was pure upsell, another was not highly experienced. But L & R showed up on time, was wearing a mask, was courteous, professional. Over the next couple of days, Louis was VERY communicative, sent me a bid, and came in under the other firms large and small. After awarding them the bid, two men came the next morning, got right after the job, and completed it the same day, cleaning up after themselves. Tino & Jerry were a great pair, friendly and very conscientious. Tino looked at the electrical panel & determined it was maxed out, & actually over-burdened. We decided it needed to be upgraded. This is not uncommon for a 37 year old house, so we approved the upgrade. Initial concerns leading to this particular call: *No power in one of our bathrooms *Non-responsive outdoor flood light *Dead (or sometimey) outlets in the kitchen and two other rooms * Overall electrical condition of our new, older, home I reached out and was scheduled by Mrs. Rosalinda quickly for my growing list of electrical concerns. It literally seemed like one thing after another was cutting off or going out: power inside, power outside, and no amount of flipping breakers was making a difference. Mr. Louis and assistant arrived, smiles on their masked faces (you can tell by the eyes) and immediately got to work. They checked for power all over the home, inside and out, and asked questions, which I like. They were thorough because even though the fancy current gadget showed power, they noticed our microwave failed to work in the same outlet. They did additional investigation, identified and and fixed the problem, once and for all. They also replaced a finnicky island outlet and replaced our kitchen ceiling bulbs which have been in disorder for some time. Mr. Louis went on to add that if any problems continued to occur, to not hesitate in calling back. Final diagnosis, the overall wiring in the home does not need to be replaced, but we would do well to swap out a few old surge protectors. So, without hesitation I'll continue to use and recommend L&R. They're the full package, reliable, responsive, honest and best of all, they know what they're doing. An AC company tech could not make the repair, and advised me to call an electrician, stating that the breaker was the problem! I hired L&R to hang two chandeliers in my home in October of 2020. Last month, the dining room chandelier unexpectedly fell from the ceiling (fortunately no one was hurt). I called ABC commercial to come out and assess and was told it appeared to not be properly braced to handle the weight of the fixture. I called L&R back and asked them to come assess the issue and potentially re-hang. They told me I would have to pay $625 to have them bring scaffolding or I would have to rent scaffolding and set it up myself given the height of my ceilings. I was told the technicians who hung it no longer work there and this would not be covered under warranty. I was told they would not cover the fix (partially or totally) because it could have been the builders fault installing a box that could not support the weight (although I would have expected the technicians to tell me that when they hung it). I will never use L&R electrical again, obviously. There is no embellishment or false reporting of what happened here. read more
