Instantly ready to share previous customers we could reach out to for references. A really good balance between sharing his ideas for our project, but also really listening to our feedback on what we wanted/invisoned. All the right insights for how to keep us in budget, and very generous with (we can add this/that for little/no extra costs since we're already doing XYZ). We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. The inspection report was very thorough with pictures and written in terms I could understand. Allan checked items I wouldn't have even considered and made several ongoing maintenance suggestions. My smoke alarms malfunctioned and they all started blaring at the same time throughout the house even though there was no fire or smoke. I only received a recording when I called the vendor that my American Home Shield insurance assigned to me. Volthouse to the rescue! I had utilized Volthouse for service years ago, so I tried them as Plan B. A gentleman answered the phone! He was kind, courteous, and understanding. He said that he was sorry that that happened, and he happened to have some technicians in my neighborhood who could be here in 15 minutes! They came and disabled the units, and came back at a scheduled time the next week and said they could replace them all with units that have a 10-year battery life -- which I didn't even know existed. I most recently called Cory to build a 35ft extension cord that was custom built to power a soft-serve ice cream machine to a generator. Cory always does a good job. I have homes in the Austin area as well as in Rockport where Hurricane Harvey hit. There were just not enough local talent for all the demand when the rebuilding began. I hired his crew within a week, and they knocked out my project in less than a day. I had two extra circuits installed in my breaker box, 3 additional wall outlets on all walls of my garage; laser lined and installed 4 led puck lights in the kitchen with a dimmer switch; installed an additional exterior light on outside of my garage and hung matching lights. Jon and his team are extremely professional, polite, and knowledgeable and know what we wanted. I wanted to hire a local company at a competitive price, and Shine On fit that bill! Also, I hired another local company to patch repair the outdated fluorescent lighting holes, see my other review on Quality Homes Painting. They do amazing work for drywall, texture and painting.

The electrician Christian Livaudais is my new hero! He replaced the breaker box that had caught on…read morefire in one day. The issue was reported the day prior, but a permit from the COA was required to proceed with installing a new one. He got here at 7:00 am and didn't leave until 10:00 pm! I was giddy with joy when those lights came back on. Very professional, personable, and obviously very good at his job. I'm lucky the house didn't catch fire. (I'm a renter, so I don't know how much it cost.)

This would fall under a level three diagnosis and the fee is going to be $825. I have never seen a company try to rip someone off more in my life. I've been managing properties for a long time and have five different properties. Not once have I ever seen a company. Tried to take advantage of a homeowner like this. I absolutely would never give this business a dime. The tech also did not seem very knowledgeable and was not willing to even figure out why there was no power to two rooms and an outlet.
