We were passing through Quebec and my wife saw this gem in instagram. We waited patiently for there…read morewas a line when we got there. It was definitely worth the wait. The owner/chef Nick, took our orders and the food was magnificent. My wife had one of the fluffiest Pancakes. I had the Bagel and Lox. One of us also tried the Tuna Melt - delicious (which I believed was taken out of the current menu). Their coffee was also good and memorable because of the different types of mugs they used to serve with. Great comforting food, cozy little spot and truly a neighborhood treasure. If I lived here, I would be here every week. We also bought some sweaters and shirts. Oh! And don't forget to add Millmans Spotify playlist! We had a wonderful morning that day! We hope that we can visit there again.

I just had the breakfast plate which came with 2 super thick slices of bacon (steakon) , 2 eggs any style, home fries and 2 slices of toasted thick sourdough bread. That in itself was filling. They really take their diner credentials seriously. They served my tea in a Fireking Jadeite cup and saucer straight out of the1950's. I know because ever since Martha Stewart started collecting the stuff, finding Fireking Jadeite pieces now is very difficult and prices have shot through the roof. The chrome fan, milkshake maker, chrome details around the bar, black and white photos of old Verdun and hanging plants also add to the retro vibe. Service was friendly and quick. They also give you a 15% discount if you go between 8-10am.

What a special place this is!!! Located on the Lachine Canal (please correct me if that's…read moreincorrect) this popular local eatery has people lined up for Sunday breakfast. We didn't have to wait long to be seated near the back by an open (but screened-in) area, right by the "window" overlooking the canal. We ordered our coffee and put in order while watching streams of people come and go. There was such a huge selection of fabulous, mouth-watering items on the menu that ranged from crèpes to french toast and sandwiches that it was difficult to choose. I had Le Brise, comprised of french toast, loads of sweet, crispy and fresh fruit in season and custard sauce. Québec Maple syrup was brought to the table, just in case we didn't have enough sweetness. My friend had the scrambled eggs, toast, home fried potatoes & baked beans. The ambience was light and service was quick between servers setting up for a large party behind us and another party in front of us, and the two teenagers beside us who received a lot of attention from the younger server. Next time I'm in town, I will come back, especially since we got to take a walk along the canal over to the beach where some bathers were taking advantage of the glorious weather.

I highly recommend Crescendo.

There are huge windows on one side letting in a lot of light. It seems like a great place to have a large group dinner or event there. We ordered the deviled brussel sprouts, bomba schnitzel, and chicken alexandre for lunch. We also ended up getting a cookie and donut from their pastry counter afterwards. It was a ton of food, but I wish I had room to try more things. The brussel sprouts were some of the best brussels I've ever had. There was so much flavor packed in there. I could have done without the blue cheese, but I still loved it. I usually wouldn't order rotisserie chicken at a restaurant, but this was cooked perfectly. It was so juicy and tender. The schnitzel was amazing too. Overall, it just really felt like simple food and ingredients done well. I was very impressed. I would love to go back here again. This was such a satisfying meal, and a great way to end our trip.

Place does get busy so weekends are loud but that's what you want I would feel weird going to a quiet little resto on Saturday morning lol. It takes a sometimes a while to place an order but that's because they're super busy. Food quality is good, eggs Benedict are my favourite, I always take bacon because the chef in the back does it well done and that's exactly how I like it. They do have a liquor licence so if you're looking to nurse a hangover with a beer or a boozy brunch with your girls they make fruity drinks. It's not expensive about 10 dollars a plate. Here's the insider scoop: Schnitzel: Perfectly crisp, gold-fried, and so tender I may or may not have audibly moaned mid-bite. Goulash (for real gouoners): A hearty, rich stew that had my friends waxing poetic about Eastern Europe, right in the South Shore. Sides: Beets and seasonal veggies stole the show; bright, fresh, and seasoned like a chef who actually gives a damn. The décor is charmingly rustic-Bohemian: soft lighting, vintage accents, and enough character to make it feel like you stumbled into a cozy Prague café. It's welcoming, warm, and strangely enchanting. Only downside? They didn't have Pilsner Urquell on tap, and my dream Czech pairing dashed. But the food more than made up for it with flavor heavy enough to forgive a brewery oversight. Would I go back? Absolutely. Bohemia is a solid little European escape; right here in Brossard.

While this is still Fresh Juice in my mind, let's get this one down…read more I've been here maybe 3 or 4 times over the years and each visit just leaves something to be desired. (Why it seems I only have 1 actual check-in for it is beyond my understanding, mayhaps it has been so long since my previous visits that I was still a newbie Yelper and thought check-ins were lame*...) My rating is actually 3.5 stars rounded up for just really super sweet service. *Check ins are not lame FYI ... I realized u could win badges, dukedoms and baronies and yes, even kingdoms when u do check in to places. Some places even offer a special Yelper treat (like 10% off or a free shot or 2 for 1 - if they actually honour it is a whole 'nother can of worms) when u check in. Plus it's kool to show a place u r it's regular ;) It's a kyoot lil bistro type set up with terrasse in the summer, a bit cramped-feeling, however nothing overwhelmingly claustrophobic. Slightly too many tables for the space but necessary due to popularity. What I really dig about this place is the local art work on display, gorgeous photographs framed and hanging from the walls may make you want to hover over stranger's tables to get a good look. There are 2 bathrooms which seem to serve the space appropriately, but make sure you knock! For some reason patrons here enjoy using the facilities with the door unlocked which caused a couple of embarassing moments for my friend when both bathrooms were occupied, yet not locked. Because it has been so long since my previous visits let's stick to yesterday's, which is more or less representative of a typical visit. We were greeted ever so sweetly and they let us choose a nice table near the window for 2. We checked the specials board: a must-do when you come here, nothing interested me, but my friend ordered the Frittata Special. I chose the Hummus entrée with veggies and pita because my appetite has been fairly absent these days. Our waiter was quite generous and offered me to have the coffee included in my friend's frittata special (because she only wanted the OJ included). The coffee was never refilled, but I couldn't complain really 'cuz I didn't hafta pay for it in the first place. My hummus entrée was quite generous in portion actually, thankfully because at 9$ it damn well better be. There were lotsa veggies on the plate too which I highly appreciated. The pita was ok nothing special, there was plenty of it, but I ended up eating more veggies than pita. The hummus, homemade if I understood correctly, is absolutely delicious, different from most hummus yet still very much enjoyable. The cucumber and peppers seemed a bit on the precut-or-about-to-go-bad variety imo, my friend said they were fine, but they were slightly too slimey to be fresh cut and/or fresh produce, I felt. Also they chopped these huge wedges of carrot which I didn't touch because they were way too thick to be tempting. Carrot sticks or baby carrots would be a better option. I remove a 1/2 star for this aspect of questionable freshness and oddly chosen cut of carrot. The rest of the menu didn't really interest me in the sense that I wouldn't willingly pay those prices for those menu items. There were very limited options under 10$ and all in the entrée section (so if you're not too hungry don't come here 'cuz there's not many affordable munchie type items). Lotsa sweet brunch options (pancakes crepes etc), not much in terms of bacon and eggs type stuff, if that's what you're looking for this isn't the place. So pricing and choices is where I remove a whole star. This is a place I don't mind going every once in awhile because service is great and the food tastes good, but the questionable freshness with those prices makes it so I don't want to come often and can't understand why people make this a regular choice when there are better, cheaper choices very nearby. I must add that I don't have much of a sweet tooth (and especially not for breakfast) so this brunch option may be more tantalizing for those who do.
