We came to this place with no expectation. We ordered and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the great service we received. Great food and nice quiet spot! Delicious.

4 stars for food, 3 stars for service...really a 3.5* review but I'll be generous! We were staying in an apartment nearby and ended up trying a number of restaurants in this charming area. On our first afternoon walkabout we'd been pleasantly greeted by the host while reading the menu outside, and sweetie wanted to give them a try, so we did a couple nights later. It was about 8:45 in the evening when we stopped in looking for a table, and at night the different host seemed a little put-out/gruff about seating us so "late" (and yet in other parts of Italy it seems most Italians don't sit down for dinner until more like 9pm...?) Our starters came out extremely fast, but that's ok given we had ordered sarde in saor and the dried beef salad. Sweetie actually declared this the best sarde he had the entire trip--it was very flavorful with generous amounts of pine nuts and raisins to really bring our the sweet-and-sour elements of the dish. My salad was just fine. For mains I got the mixed fry--one of those indulgences I allow myself once every trip to Venice. This was an excellent version, very crisp and light, and I appreciated the zucchini strips mixed in with the seafood. Sweetie enjoyed his sea bass ravioli as well. Dessert was a shared panna cotta, grappa, and two cafes. All told it was a very well prepared meal, I just couldn't shake the feeling the entire time that we were a bother to the waiter/host being there a little bit after the main dinner rush.

Nice little restaurant with manageable menu. The food is really delicious and not that expensive. The staff is friendly and not intrusive. I have been there for the second time and highly recommend it.

First course - Eggplant Pie. SOOOO GOOD!!

I'd been wanting to make sure to get tiramisu before we leave Venice since I've never had good Tiramisu in the states, it did not disappoint.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
