    Cuttlefish and polenta

This spot was recommended to us by our AirBNB host as a more local spot. It was in a quiet neighborhood away from the really busy areas. The food was fantastic. The menu was mostly seafood with a few traditional dishes. Their seafood stew took the title from my favorite at home in California. The cuttlefish cooked in ink was also fantastic. Venice has some of the best seafood available in Italy and the chef here makes great use of it. Service was personal and excellent. That's not a given in Italy. Prices were reasonable. Reservations didn't seem to be necessary.

The outside. Also our waiter was awesome (as you can see).

Amazing spot. I think what made it the best was the servers. Our server was hilarious AND helpful and made our experience super memorable in the best way. We very much enjoyed the scenery as well--we sat outside right beside a beautiful canal, and several musicians passed by on this particular May night. The street it's on has a cool energy to it, and we felt like we could spend all night there. A superb spot for a date night or a group. They have a great selection of Venician food, including lots of great seafood, but if you don't like seafood they have several other more standard Italian options available too. All in all a great spot. We loved it here!

Another beautiful night in Venice. I found this restaurant on yelp and saw it was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The bruschetta was very flavorful and the bread was outstanding. I had to try the cuttlefish as it's a classic Venetian dish amd it was fantastic. My wife had the salmon and it was good, just not outstanding (but nothing compares to fresh Alaskan salmon). Pietro, our waiter was a blast, great sense of humor, had us laughing the whole time. The restaurant is right on a canal, was peaceful watching the beautiful wooden boats pass by. Wonderful meal at a fantastic place. Highly recommend it !

Spaghetti carbonara & GF penne with shrimp & mushrooms

Stopped in for dinner before going to learn to row a gondola. The server spoke good English, was very attentive, and very knowledgeable about gluten. Started with a caprese salad - on par with other restaurants in the area. The husband finally tried the carbonara pasta dish, and really enjoyed it. I had gluten free pasta with mushrooms and shrimp. Was good, but a little bland. The portions were generous, and I was full after my entree. The house red wine accompanied our meal, and was good. Forced my husband to finish his meal with Tiramisu (since it was our last night in Italy) - was so pretty and he said delish! The only GF option for dessert was the pana cotta, so I passed. Girls at the table next to ours tried the prix five menu, and seemed very pleased.

Nice little restaurant on canal. Tucked away from the busy area. The fish soup the capesante and the seppia (cuttle fish) with polenta is great. Also had a few glasses of white wine and tea. The staff was very friendly and welcoming 55 euros for all :)

Best dish of the meal, seafood pasta, extra garlic

We stopped here for lunch by chance and had a wonderful dining experience. The manager was friendly and made great suggestions (even cautioned us from ordering too much!). We had the bruschetta, fried calamari and caprese salad to start (all pretty good). For mains, we had seafood pasta (the best) and vegetable tortellini (a bit too salty), kids had the lasagna and chicken cutlet (all gobbled up). To drink, we had the house white and draft beer, all pretty good. It was also very reasonable priced compared to some of the other places in town. Very kid friendly as well, we will definitely be back!

Well place might be a bit overpriced, but service was good, clean tables and dishes, caring personal, even tho it was a bit not so nice smell in the beginning and hanger for clothes was falling on us every 2 mins. I ordered seppia and my bf ordered venezian style liver, both dishes were well cooked. In amount of all touristic places in venice maybe this one is less overpriced than others with pretty good food.

This is the worst Italian food I have ever had--in any country. My carbonara was like glue.

Mediocre food, with unimaginative selection, so-so waiters. The location is great but there a better places nearby.

A combination of a thunderstorm and an early dinner meant the place was empty, but Marco and other staff welcomed us warmly all the same. We had the antipasti Parmigiana Di Melanzane (fried eggplant with cheese) and enjoyed the mains Pasta Al Forno (baked pasta with beef and peas), Pasta Con Le Polpette E Salsa Di Pomodoro (spaghetti with meatballs - not pictured), and Turbante Di Pesce Spada "A Beccafico" (baked swordfish). These were also with the Casa Rosso wine and Birra Siciliana beer both blonde and red. All food was superb. The fried eggplant was flavorful and fresh, and the bread was crispy and savory. The baked pasta was rich, the spaghetti and meatballs were nostalgic, and the swordfish was delectable. Safe to say we all cleared our plates easily. We wish nothing but the very best for Marco and his restaurant. This food was some of the best we had on our two week stay throughout Italy. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the amazing food made for a great experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestyle Sicilian meal.

The waiter is very friendly and invite us to have lunch, and menu price look reasonable so let's go for it. We ordered clam and mussels. So amazing and yummy, especially the soup! For dinner in peak season, try to make a reservation as the restaurant is very small. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated immediately inside and greeted warmly by the restaurant owner. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (most under 20 Euros for a 75 ML bottle). For appetizers we ordered the cheese with honey for 13 Euros, absolutely amazing! We also combined this with the local olive oil and fresh bread brought to the table to start as well. For our second course we chose two pastas, the Penne Alla Amatriciana (I think it was around 12 Euros), and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (I think it was around 12 Euros as well). Both had extremely fresh homemade ingredients and were out of this world and extreme attention to care in the preparation. For our entree we split the breaded pork chop (I think it was around 20 Euros), including a side of potatoes (similar to the steak fries that you would see in the U.S.) The service was absolutely amazing and we loved dining alongside the owner and his family and meeting the cat that also lives at the restaurant and comes by to greet you during the meal as well. It truly was like you were dining at the home of the owner and is a must try if you are in Venice!
