    Special. Excellent.

L's Kitchen absolutely earns five stars from us. From the start, the experience felt special. The head chef stopped by our table to personally explain the two specials for the evening, which was a great touch and made the meal feel much more personal. We started with the potato cakes, and they were excellent -- perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and topped with sour cream that brought everything together. A simple appetizer done really well. For our entrées, I had the pasta special and my wife ordered the Chef's Chicken. Both dishes came out hot and were full of flavor. You could tell everything was freshly prepared and thoughtfully executed. We were genuinely impressed with both meals. The service was just as strong as the food. The wait staff checked on us regularly, kept our water glasses full, and were attentive without being intrusive. Overall, L's Kitchen delivers outstanding food and hospitality in a comfortable, refined atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again.

I'm back again at L's kitchen, just a week after my first visit. Today, I'm here to pick up two bottles of wine I purchased after our very enjoyable evening at one of their Tasting Menu events. So, while here, I stayed for lunch and selected Pasta Carbonara. Now, this dish is a favorite pasta of mine. So while not an "expert' in all things pasta - I've had dozens of versions of Pasta Carbonara. Usually they're a small mound of deliciously cheesy pasta with a smoky pancetta and egg base. This version was different than others I've had - it was better and it was bigger! This will sit at the top of my Pasta Carbonara favorites until someone somewhere can knock it off. That's saying a lot for a small, French inspired restaurant, in Lincoln, Nebraska. But as you know - it's the ingredients and the chef - not the name and location that determines great food. Now let me tell you about their wildly popular Tasting Menu event. My wife and I attended with another couple. We enjoyed the five courses and the wine pairings very much. However, the highlight is the "theatrical" introduction of each menu item and the "story" that accompanies it. Lawrence DeVilliers, the owner and chef has a background in theater and you can really see and hear it at these events. He's funny, he's entertaining, gracious and unassuming in his approach to each of his diners. A true professional - both as a thespian and a chef! L's Kitchen is a wonderful place to dine.

Don't let the nondescript exterior fool you, L's Kitchen is a wonderful restaurant for fine dining. With a nice cocktail and wine list, plus a focused French and Americana menu, you will have a lovely date night here! Due to the small of the venue they are reservation only, so do prepare in advance. In my experience on a couple visits, walk ins are often turned away.

A beautiful blend of American comfort food and French cuisine. The table set up creates the tone for an amazing night. Went with a good girlfriend of mine and we split a bottle of wine, appetizer and dessert. Everything we had was amazing the service was attentive and felt just at home. Chef L came out and spoke to us and he was extremely kind and fun to talk too! Highly recommend.

Maaaan... this has to be one of the best food trucks in town. They serve delicious fried chicken and the customer service is on point. This is a 'must-try' for fried chicken enthusiasts. From the moment I stepped up to the window, I was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady which immediately set the tone for the rest of my experience. The menu had a great selection ( fried chicken, pizza puff, cat fish, etc) to choose from, plus fries and a drink. I decided to go for their 6 piece fried chicken meal, which came with a side of perfectly crispy fries and an orange soda. And let me tell you, the chicken was simply amazing. It was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was spot on and the chicken was so tender that it melted in my mouth. Even though the service is phenomenal, you're going to have to wait at least 10 minutes for your food to cook up. But it's well worth the wait. The young lady was very attentive to every customer and made sure that we were all catered to quickly and with a smile on her face. Definitely pull up if you're in the area. Great food and great service. This food truck has it all - delicious eats and a friendliness that makes sure you leave with a smile on your face. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Same great salmon with bourbon glaze, with the addition of six shrimp. The 6 shrimp were the teeny-tiniest shrimp possible and not worth paying the extra cost. I ordered grilled salmon with shrimp 5 oz. It was not bad. Salmon was a little dry shrimp was cooked yo within an inch of its death. Bed of rice underneath felt like a very thin layer of rice. Literally a thin topsheet of rice Once i took away the sides- it looked very little. I was done within five minutes Have to admit though that the taste was not bad. But very little and definitely not worth the amount we paid for it Also the lemonade machine died whilst we were there. And so we only got one decent glass of lemonade. Will we be back? Maybe... just not anytime soon.

The biggest thing for us, though, is the energy. As a lesbian couple, going out to eat can sometimes come with subtle weird vibes or feeling out of place, but we never feel uncomfortable here. The coffee was very good, and the cappuccino was smooth and well made. I ordered the Savory Breakfast Bowl with local sunny egg, quinoa tabouli, black beans, braised kale, house-made sunflower tahini, citrus ginger carrots, pickled red cabbage, and spicy sambal. The bowl was fresh, flavorful, and filling, with a nice balance of textures and ingredients. We went for lunch to catch up with friends, and it was the perfect place for that. The atmosphere feels relaxed and comfortable for conversation, and the menu has enough variety that everyone can find something they enjoy. Portions were also generous without feeling overly heavy. Service was great. They do offer drinks and cocktails as well, although I did not try them during this visit. Overall, it's a great local spot for brunch or lunch, especially if you enjoy fresh ingredients and a farm-to-table style menu.
