My daughter recommended this shop to me. The shop is pretty far from where I live but she gave it such great reviews until I had to give it a try. The shop looked really clean and sanitary. The staff was very pleasant and nice, no rushing around. I signed in and waited about 20 minutes before being acknowledged. I requested a mani/pedi and was shown to a chair. I sat there for another 20 minutes before services began. The gentleman that took care of my pedicure was very gentle, patient and thorough. He did a wonderful job. I moved to a mail station where again I waited about 20 minutes. The nail tech did a good job of giving me SNS nails. My nails were not too thick. i've been coming to LV nails for a few months now for my gel pedicures, and although the wait can be a little long sometimes, it's not their fault and they do a great job with pedicures! you can also let them know if you don't like anything, and they will fix it for you and their work is clean. highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere in homewood!! read more

Went in today for my very first time, and was pleasantly surprised at the service and friendliness of staff. My main concern would be that they are so good, it might create longer wait times to get in. Guess that would be a good problem for them. Really like that they are COVID 19 certified. So, I walked in on a Saturday and waited over an hour. Nobody greeted me or anything. I figured since it was packed it was because the service was good. Never again will I return for a pedicure. They only offer a basic pedicure. They don't scrub your legs. They literally just rub in lotion and put a white towel over it. They don't even have OPI white gel Polish. Like this is the most basic of basic pedicures. I now know to stick with what I know. If you like basic, come here. If you like a little more luxury, don't even look this way. Horrible and rude. The nail tech refused to fix my nail which was hurting so badly. She just put super glue on it, got an attitude, then put a bandaid on it, and said I need to come back in a few days when it's not hurting and she can fix it. She really thought she was going to only do 9 nails and leave 1 nail undone.....I asked her to remove the nail and replace it....no she kept saying you won't let me touch it (which was not true) I just wanted her to be careful when she did fix it. I was at Jasmin Arch and noticed this place next door. I was in need of a manicure and spa pedicure so I went in to try them. They were great. Fast service and moderate prices. Spa pedicure and manicure with gel for $55. Can't beat it for the fast service. They don't offer anything to drink though. That was a little disappointing. I was gonna talk about how great my pedicure was, but I got home and noticed that they only painted HALF of one of my toes. I also got SNS on my nails. I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes after the pedicure to get the SNS. Instead of re-dipping nails where the powder didn't cover, they like to shave the sides down. She cut my nails so low there is about 1/4" of my cuticle exposed. Had to ask several times to get her to correct one nail where there was a bulge on the side. She cut the nail and didn't apply any polish to fix it so that nail remains scratched. I won't be back. read more

I'm so used to the Birmingham area being overpriced at nail salons I gave up trying to find a decent priced salon with quality work. They always take their time and listen to my concerns. I wear my natural nails and I am very particular about how they are cared for. The only downside here is there is often a long wait on the weekends and peak times. I know this is because they do not rush through the services to push more customers in and out. I am very happy with my manicure! I am picky about how my French nails should be done, yet the technician was very patient and did made all of the adjustments that I asked. I've had technicians argue with me about how I like them done if you can believe that - so this was a nice change. The salon was very clean and very reasonably priced. I think it's a great value for the attention to detail and service that I received. I've been searching for places to get my nails done since I moved to Birmingham and everywhere I've gone has been pretty overpriced. Not this place! They greeted me as I walked in and I didn't have to wait at all. They took their time with my mani pedi and did a great job! I came in with old SNS that needed to be taken off before the new SNS was put on, and they didn't charge me extra like most places do. My regular pedi was $25 and my SNS manicure was $35. I made an appointment in the morning for the afternoon for my mom and I to get manicures. When we got there I told them I wanted ombré nails and my mom wanted gel. They got started on my mom and I sat there the whole time. A little over halfway through my mom getting her nails done, the manicurist tells her, not me, that only one person there can do ombré and they are currently with a customer. My mom tells me this when she gets done, and by this time it's been 1hr 15min. The guy starts on a customer behind me since she wasn't getting ombré. If they would have talked to me, I could have at least had an option to make a decision on if I wanted different nails. So waited for over an hour, they barely communicated with me, so my mom paid and we left without me getting anything done. I told them I was frustrated and I barely got an apology. I rarely get manicures/pedicures except for special occasions, but when I need it done,LV Nails is my go to! I usually call ahead to see how busy they are, so I can plan my time wisely. Donna is awesome, professional and friendly. She even has helped me pick out a color when I can't figure out exactly what I want. She told me to wash my hands at the end and then 4 nails got messed up and she blamed it on me. She fixed them, came to check on them, touched them and messed them up again!! I get my nails done about once a month here and just get gel polish. I recently got a pedicure and requested the water to be extra warm and it was straight up cold. Compared to the other salon I visit, they didn't put in half the effort. She was so gentle with the pumice stone that I left without even feeling like my feet had been exfoliated. I used to come here all the time when I worked in the area. I didn't realize how spoiled I was until I started going to other places around town. LV nails is the best value in nail salons around. The service you get is wonderful for the price. Others I've been to cost more, and just don't seem to offer much extra for the money. The spa pedicure chairs show some age, but certainly do the job they were made for. You get the hot towel wrap for no extra charge. They have a nice range of polish colors, and they have shellac if you're looking for a long-lasting manicure. I've never suspected the cleanliness of the tools to be sub-par. It's not a super-fancy place, and I have absolutely no problem with that. Everyone is friendly, you are greeted as soon as you walk in the door, and you don't have to make an appointment. I don't mind waiting a bit here, because I've never been unhappy with my experience. Every now and then it can be a little on the warm side, temperature-wise, so my advice is to not wear too many layers. read more

I just moved to the area from Atlanta and I was TWO STEPS away from taking this gel off of my nails and just getting regular pedis only because the prices at the "spas" near my home are SO overpriced. I used to be a frequent customer for over a year and a half. Got my nails done every other week at $40 each visit. A couple months ago I noticed that the gels started to make my nails split and break. One of the techs suggested that I try an acrylic with a gel overlay, until my nails grew past the breakage. I agreed and kept going back for a fill-in for several more weeks. All the time I was spending the $40 per visit, the techs were professional and the work was near excellent. A couple weeks ago, I went in and asked to have the acrylic and gel removed all together. I felt like I needed to give my nails a break. This time, the tech was a little too ruff and she cut my nails down, but did not file them down smooth and she left quite a bit of acrylic on my nails. I am still waiting for the nails to grow out long enough to cut off the remaining acrylic. That botched job cost $18. I will NOT ever go back to LV Nails. read more
