My wife, daughter and I decided to check out this bakery after having breakfast at Adele's. The very first impression we had was: Clean. This place is clean. This is very important to us...for obvious reasons. The three of us were like kids in a candy store. Pastries, cakes, cupcakes...all beautifully decorated. My wife and daughter were wanting to try everything. Me, included. My wife and I decided on a fruit tart/pie? And my daughter wanted a chocolate cup. We also purchased some other sweets. But the one that stood out was the fruit tart. Once we arrived at home (on vacation at Lake Tahoe), we immediately brewed coffee to have with our fruit tart. OMG...let me tell you... It looks wonderful, but tastes even better! We felt bad. A few days before we purchased a fruit tart from Safeway for $15. LA Bakery has it at $19.99. Theirs is bigger than Safeway's...and so much better. The beautiful thing about LA Bakery is that their products are not too sweet. What I mean by that is...usually any and all baked goods you buy at the store... The first thing you taste is sugar. Most, if not all American bakeries, use way too much sugar in their products. IMHO, sugar drowns out the flavor of the baked goods. If I want to eat a fruit tart, I want to taste the individual fruits...and not just sugar. LA Bakery uses the right amount. Before we left Tahoe, we decided to make a special trip back to LA Bakery. This time to buy more pastries to take home. My wife had a photo with one of the bakers. We even met Ali (the owner & general manager). Very friendly guy. I asked where he and his family are from. He informed us they're from Persia. We complimented him and his wife on how delicious all the pastries were. And that they weren't too sweet. He stated that most Persian desserts are not too sweet. We made some other small talk. Overall, my wife and I are very pleased we had the opportunity to visit LA Bakery. It is tucked away near the main street. IMHO, very underrated bakery. Hopefully, they'll open another branch in a more busy area (like near Costco). I believe they'll get more customers. But, in the meantime, we'll keep on raving about this place and recommend to all our family and friends. Best bakery we've been to in the U.S....hands down... read more

I may drive to Carson City just to go to this place again! We were in town for a basketball tournament and had an amazing breakfast there, I wish we could have stayed for lunch. American Breakfast, pastries, breakfast burrito, omelette... Great coffee. The potatoes were SO good - I usually pass on potatoes, but these were golden brown and crisp on outside, soft on inside. Best place I have been to in the Carson City/Reno area for gluten free lunch options! Gluten free bread is available for all the sandwiches along with gluten free soups. I had the tuna melt panini. I would've given 5 stars but the bread was a tad dry and crunchy; could have avoided if a little oil had been used in the press. And if gluten free bread wasn't enough to get you excited, they have several gluten free desserts!! I had the carrot cake but bought a lemon bar for later. The carrot cake was frosting heavy but the cake was moist and tasty. I will definitely come again to try the breakfast menu and juice bar! Very disappointed with a so-called breakfast! Asked for eggs cooked slowly and not all tough and crisp...they came tough, brown and crisp . Toast was grilled...I guess they grilled it along with the eggs. Cottage potatoes were like hard french fries. I did complain...nothing will change and I found out they don't even have a toaster!! I came to LA bakery once with my friends. As we were all on a weight loss diet, we just ordered wild mushroom soup and green salad with chicken. The soup was very well prepared and so delicious. Green salad was very fresh, colorful and more than enough for one person. The chicken on the salad was very succulent and well cooked.
