We come here maybe 2x a month for breakfast/lunch and we haven't had a bad meal here. Everything is made from scratch the food is fresh and always presented nicely on the plate. 3.5 stars. Some may pass this breakfast/brunch spot on the main street for decades, before chancing in. There's a lithe easy staff of great waitresses that seem to float by in black. The pine booths that dominate are nice - the distracting giant tv screens put in overhead to repetitively show videos of pancakes are not. Menu is strong but not huge. Perfect bacon and impressive fresh squeezed OJ. You can get a bottle of Coke, but if you order a Coke they'll bring Pepsi alas. Old established locals quietly fill the place - which is a sign of a good restaurant. Recommend a booth for long conversations over pancakes - especially as the pro staff won't bother you. read more

A few days ago, my friend and I had a most tasty breakfast here. Service was friendly, and the restaurant is light, bright and welcoming. And conveniently located in downtown Carson, so walkable if the weather is nice. My friend had bacon pancakes (they're apparently on a secret menu and come up on the bill as "cakes with fruit") and I had the veggie benedict. It's a Monday morning.... we're passing through Carson always on our way to and fro... but this time I really wanted to have breakfast, which we tend to skip on these road trips. Mammoth no longer has anything interesting and we won't find anything until we get there... Mono Inn, but only open for dinner service. Wow! Has Carson changed since I was last here for a costco run from S. Lake. My son and I popped into this cute place, not knowing what to expect. I ordered chillaquillas, but with green sauce and chorizo. My son got eggs Benedict. He can't do the English muffin (gluten issue) so on a bed of avocado w/hash. Came out amazing. And was really so good. So happy. BF is so hard in general to find a really tasty meal. Most bf joints just give you the same tired options of mostly large portions of starch and over cooked meat. This place was surprisingly exceptional. They have a wide variety of items that are not on your typical menu. We didn't try most of them obviously. Our 1st time, but I can't wait to be passing through again in a month. I'm interested in the fajitas, but with over easy eggs. We'll see. Service wasn't instant, but was friendly and timely. We absolutely love the Heidi's in Tahoe and had a good experience the last time we ate at the one in Carson a few years ago so we decided to stop by while heading to Carson for a Costco run. Unfortunately it missed the mark :( service was great, absolutely no complaints there, but the food left a lot to be desired. My husband had a steak breakfast with crab and hollandaise. He asked for his steak medium rare and unfortunately it came out so rare that it was literally purple. Plus the crab on top was cold and so was the sauce so the whole thing was disappointing. It was really busy and we aren't the type to complain so we just left it. We also had some crepes on the side so he had other food. I had the seafood Benedict and thankfully none of my food was cold, my eggs were perfectly poached, and it was pretty good. However, I couldn't help but feel like it's missing something that I just couldn't put my finger on. Our son had the kids French toast and he enjoyed it. The main thing that saved our whole experience was the crepes! We had the banana cream cheese ones to share on the side and they were delicious! We both said after that we should have just gotten a sweet breakfast and left the other stuff. I also hope this location will at some point get the lemon sugar crepes that the Tahoe location has on their menu as it's my fave item there! read more

I haven't had Heidi's in years since I was growing up in Tahoe in the 70's & 80's. When I recently learned there was one in Carson City, I knew we had to try it. It's a popular place on weekends so, expect a bit of a wait, but the wait is worth it! We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with fantastic service in a nice clean and bright restaurant atmosphere. Their crepes were pretty epic as were my chilaquiles! They feed you huge portions so don't be surprised if you cannot finish! We've been back twice more since discovering this location. I guess it's been 15 years since Gayle and I visited Heidi's for breakfast. The last time was during a very rainy day as we were up visiting her Mom for the weekend. And as I recall, Heidi's flooded the next day. This time around, I was taking Gayle home from one of those "driver required" appointments, and breakfast was in order on the way to our Genoa home. I was a little distracted that we were the only customers, but the place started to fill in nicely after we were seated at a very comfortable booth. Both of us remembered a bit more of a rustic decor vs. the modern clean lines, nice woods, and good light that we experienced this morning. The food was very good. I had pancakes, sausage, and eggs, while Gayle chose an omelet. Both of our portions were generous, but neither of us having any trouble consuming most of it. Every time I come here my mind is blown by the delectable food, attentive service and sweet ambiance. I don't know why I've never tried the Chilaquiles! This is probably the best Chilaquiles I've had in the reno/sparks/Carson area. The Chico's are fully coated in a lovely red sauce yet maintain a slight crispy center that is pure magic. Ask for the green sauce! In Sane. The NY Steak Oscar and eggs was delish too! Finally the traditional Benedict was superb. Excellent hollandaise sauce, too. We dined in last weekend before heading into the festival nearby. We arrived at the perfect time, we beat the breakfast rush. Our server was nice, but was a tad on the awkward side. Pancakes and a ham scramble were not pictured. The lechera crepes special was divine! The chile relleno breakfast was not my favorite and cheese was not melted. I wouldn't order that again. My only complaint was the coffee. It needs more of a kick, please add some more coffee to the pot. Lastly, the restaurant was cozy, but the flies were trying to land on our food. Our waitress could smile a little, and make me feel more welcome, but sometimes it's the way it goes with some people. The food was excellent and serve promptly. Had a hunger and decided to check out this spot based on it's local feel and decent reviews. Good choice! Please is quaint, decent parking and built to serve. Definitely a local's place. Greeted right away and shown to a table, brought waters and hot, well-balanced coffee. Ordered the Chorizo burrito with a side of fruit. Order came up pretty quick along with a delish avocado-based salsa that had a decent kick and great flavor. The burrito was huge, took half home. Filled with egg and chorizo, great flavor combination, especially with the yummy salsa. Service is friendly and very attentive. Top that off with a great value. A California omelet , and the strawberry crepe with Nutella Overall the service and experience was a 9/10 our server was very nice . I came here with my dad a few weeks ago and I recognized it from years ago my wife and I had stopped to eat. This is a neat little restaurant right on a corner. Parking is a little small. But there is street parking and it seems to work well. The menu has some very good choices. I chose the corned beef hash and eggs. I mean it had been quite a while since I had eaten here so I thought I'd stick with a standard breakfast choice. It was the typical breakfast with eggs and hash browns toast and coffee. The food was very good and didn't take long to get. The service is very good and the place is clean. I was especially impressed by people that thanked my dad and I for serving our country. Come to find you someone actually paid for our meal. No that's something you don't see often enough. But it was a nice surprise. I really enjoyed this establishment and will definitely be coming back when I am in the area. If you are in the Carson City area you really should stop in and get some great food! read more
