This spot is a local favorite and I was excited to try it for an early breakfast. It looked very modern and inviting. I got the goat cheese toast which was good. So why the 1 star you ask. My friend who was with me and was having the same thing was chewing his food and pulled out a piece of a plastic wrapper out of his mouth. He was very nonchalant about it and did not want to make a big deal or even mention it since there was only 1 employee who was doing everything, and he felt bad for her. That's a big no no....what if he had swallowed it?? Not coming back. read more

Good service, ample seating, cozy ambiance, and amazing coffee. What more could you ask for? It does get busy, so you'll need to arrive at an opportune time to get seating, but there is a lot of it. We've loved everything we've tried here. The peppermint mocha was especially notable, and enjoyed by one of us who doesn't typically enjoy hot drinks, or peppermint, which speaks to the quality. Chai in the chai tea latte is strong, and lattes are delicious. A favorite spot of ours when we're in the area. read more

Got a latte. Tastes like sweetened milk. I genuinely don't know if there's any coffee in here--I can't taste it. $7.50 for what feels like a microdose of espresso. The picture says it all--the color is literally the color of white glue. This is just soft. 7.50 for sweetened milk. Y'all put like 0.25 shots in a latte? This is just sad. This is "coffee" having identity issues like the left. read more

Nice little coffee shop right off of 154 highway. Staff was nice and quick with our order. The place was clean and spacious. They have conference rooms for meetings and small gatherings. I ordered a 12oz mocha to go. It wasn't scalding hot, but just the right temp. I liked that it wasn't overly sweat, which lots of places tend to do with their mochas. They had a selection of pasties, but I didn't indulge this time. Next time for sure! read more

Found this amazing cute coffee shop during my last visit. It has a cute interior, and should be good for getting some work done. I tried both a cold brew and a matcha latte on separate visits, both were good! Definitely coming back on my next visit. Ample small parking lot and street parking. read more

Loved this place! What a nice coffee shop! I got a honey latte that hit the spot and my boyfriend got the drip coffee. It was the best drip coffee either of us have ever tried.... I wish I could remember the name! We each got toast too, I got the avocado toast and he got the nutty almond butter toast with blueberries. Both were really good and we were obsessed with the bread! Food and drinks were delicious!! This is a great, chill spot to hang, work, do homework, anything! And great treats as well:) read more

The place is pretty cute and cozy. It is also very clean. The service was good. Nothing to complain about. I had a chai and it was alright - nothing special. But my friend got espresso shots and the shots were either dead or needed to be recalibrated? But they tasted super funky and she had to request a different drink. La Barba is a beautiful Seattle like coffee shop with a delicious menu! Nothing on their coffee menu stands out at all but it has your basic options that you know are good. My experience with the staff for the several times I've been here is not incredible. The staff aren't the warmest people even when it's not very busy they don't ask any nice questions or tell you to have a good day so they could be friendlier. Alternatives for milk are pricey. Overall good coffee but nothing that stands out. read more

Personal experience: My expectation for this place were really high since it did have four stars and it looks really cute through others people photos. Me and my friend were really excited to try this place out and when we got there we did like the whole layout but it did have limited seating which made it hard for us to sit down and talk. Service: This is where I am actually really upset. When we ordered we didn't feel welcomed at all, I got stared at the entire time by the cashier and barista which really made me uncomfortable because it felt like I wasn't welcomed. When I ordered I wasn't informed at all about them not having pastries which I was excited for but that's okay. Drinks: My friend ordered a Chai latte and I ordered myself an espresso, I'm not much of an espresso person but it was my first time so I can't really complain about it. My friend's chai was WAY over stimulated of sweetness and we just didn't want to be there anymore. More in-site: Honestly the whole experience wasn't welcoming nor comfortable or pleasant in general. After I tried my friends chai I was super upset and just ended up telling them to throw it away because I didn't want to fill their garbage with a whole drink. If you're trying this place; please keep in mind that they do have limited on seating and be cautious on what you order because they probably won't help you out as much. read more

Stopped here while visiting as I love to try new local coffee shops! Upon entering, the vibe is very workspace/trendy & was definitely busy - & a little too noisy as I could barely hear the cashier talking to me! I didn't wait too long to order, but the gentlemen taking my order seemed almost put out to be working that day. Waited about 7-8 minutes for my drink - not too excessive given how busy they were - my chai latte was ready - I thanked the baristas who looked exhausted & ignored any interaction from customers. The drink was great, but not sure I'd return next time I'm in town based on the customer service. read more

Great coffee in the SLC area. My cold brew reminded me of why I love coffee - the naturally sweet and complex tasting notes you can get from good coffee were abundant. The space in Draper is wicked cool. Lots of people had laptops open - I would certainly do the same were I a local. They had great bakery items as well. Best coffee I tasted in Utah by a long shot. I can't tell you how many times people have recommended this place to meet up after work...sadly, they close at 4:00, so we have to pick another location. That aside, I was able to make it over recently during the day and found that it's a popular hangout-and for good reason. The coffee is great and the ambience is inviting. It's not the "hang out in the living room" vibe, but more of the open space, clubhouse hangout vibe. I observed two different groups sitting around large tables playing cards, multiple couples that were in deep conversation and several singletons with noise cancelling headphones plugging away at work on their laptops. There's a small patio outside and while dogs aren't allowed indoors, I saw a friendly golden retriever lazily sleeping under a table outside. It's a laid back place and I had half a mind to curl up with the good boi myself. Service is terrific-friendly, welcoming and quick. It's a place that I'd easily find myself frequenting, during the day, of course. read more

You'll find this modern spot hits all the right places when you're craving a real latte and avocado toast in the Draper area. Craft coffee is more rare in Utah than other places, so this establishment shines like a gem. Can get a bit busy as it's a great spot for working through a project remotely or meeting a friend. read more

I ordered 2 coffees and cookies (I ordered coffee with oat milk both and caramel syrup) as a result, I was charged for the additional payment of milk for both glasses, and they made it on a regular cow's milk, without returning the surcharge for oatmeal. The coffee was too hot, which is a bad indicator of the coffee shop. By the way, the syrup for which we paid an additional 75 cents in each glass turned out to be the cheapest in taste as water with sugar, although it was supposed to be a caramel sauce. Coffee isn't super strong so next time we would add an extra shot. Drinks pretty sweet too. We got a SF Vanilla Almond Milk Latte and a Mocha, both iced. The avocado toast was amazing though, simple but fresh and satisfying. It was pretty busy when we went, but the staff was really kind and helpful! read more

Solid coffee and nice ambiance. I popped in to grab a Mocha to go, but it seems like a cool place to hang out if you want to stay and enjoy your beverage. Everyone working was friendly. Ordering was a breeze and I didn't have to wait too long for my drink to be ready. The Mocha wasn't too sweet which is always a good sign. For the area, I would definitely say this is one of your better coffee options. I'll definitely come back to try a few other drinks. read more

I wish I could afford a $7 latte everyday because this would be my go to. Drinks here are SO good. Homemade syrups and it shows. Girls working behind the counter are always so friendly. Wish their point system wasn't through cash app, weird, and that they did specials every once in a while. Great place to meet a friend for a drink or get some work done. I love coming here to get some work done during the day or even for first dates. My go tos are the chai or matcha lattes. I also order the iced coffee from time to time. As far as their food, the avocado toast is amazing! It has olive oil, seaweed flakes and red pepper flakes on top (if I remember correctly). I also love their plain butter and jam toast. If you're feeling something sweeter the berry coffee cake is a good option. I do wish they offered an açaí bowl or a smoothie (healthy breakfast options), or even their breakfast tacos like they do downtown. I'm sure they would be popular menu items! Overall this a great coffee shop with modern, hipster vibes. My only complaint is they close early. Wish they were open later until 8 pm because I would definitely come here more. read more

Staff seems annoyed to be working there. Food for thought: when a customer asks how you're doing, maybe engage with the customer and ask how they're doing as well. This has happened numerous times with different staff members. Thank God food is somewhat decent. Coffee is ok. Nothing life changing. read more

La Barba is the perfect place to work remotely for an afternoon. It's clean, relatively quiet, and it's got more than just coffee to keep you energized and focused. Typically when I see a menu of only "Toasts" I'm left uninterested. But La Barba has become the exception. I tried the prosciutto and goat cheese toast and my coworker had the avocado toast. Both were simple but delicious. In the past I have loved the almond butter w/ blueberry. The salty + sweet combination is so good, any day of the week. La Barba's staff is always friendly and quick to get your order ready. You can't go wrong with a trip to La Barba coffee. read more

So we'll split. trendy place with a packed seating area with everyone sitting on computers or other screens. I absolutely adored my experience at La Barba Coffee in Draper. I accidentally stumbled across this gem and was so pleased! The space was open, clean and the perfect minimal bit beautiful space. The staff was pleasant and lively- upon entering, I was greeted and felt right at home. I arrived around 10AM on a Sunday. There was a constant flow of traffic throughout my time there. I was impressed by the flow and it felt very neighborhood cafe, I loved the local presence. I ordered a RedEye and a Prosciutto and Goat Cheese toast. The coffee was strong and the food was prepared quickly. It was simple and fresh, exactly what I needed to start my study session. They also had several conference rooms for rent, which I appreciate so much. It's very encouraging for any aspiring business owner. It definitely sparked many things in me during my study session. The bathrooms were well kept, clean and readily available. I adored my experience and have adopted the cafe into my routine. I hope to become a regular as I enjoy the sincere and genuineness of the cafe as a whole. The staff, service, quality of food and the overall ambience was lovely! 15+ minutes for two drinks.... I would say a massive staffing issue happening. Used to love to come to this place but the service has definitely tapered down from being as good as it was before. Granted it was fairly full on a Friday morning but 1 barista to 20 plus customers can't be the answer. read more

There's one downside to this place, and it's that everyone else has now found it. I've been coming here since they opened. This i can say: the coffee is consistent. Like, I've never had a bad cup of coffee here. I have come here a lot. The ambiance is perfect. It's why it's so popular. It's the perfect levels and cool and still approachable. Their menu changes just enough that they have fun seasonal flavors, but you also have some classics to fall back on. Cute seating areas, which is perfect when you come in and see your ex on a date with another girl. You can just duck over to the seating area with the couches. He can't bother you there. Music is nice. It's lovely. Seriously. One issue. It's so popular now. read more

Summary: - La Barba's reputation precedes this place - Delicious pour-over coffee - Great selection of breakfast toasts I never thought I would ever be back in Utah to experience La Barba again. However, it looked like the stars aligned, and fate brought me here once again, this time to Draper. All within the same year! I was "forced" to come here to Draper from California, to take my ABEM certification exam. It was the only test date and location available that I could register for. Coming back to La Barba made it worth it though, not to mention the ability to use the free drink tickets that came with my online order of their coffee beans. Since my visit to the Gateway's location, the pandemic has evolved a bit. There was open indoor seating, though social distancing was enforced. Onto the Goods: Ethiopia Banko Gotiti pour-over - if you've read my review for the Gateway location, you'd know I'm crazy about this coffee. The tones of blueberry, honeydew, and grapefruit tickle those taste buds like none other. Being here, I bought another 12 oz bag of this coffee and used my previous drink ticket on the pour-over that I enjoyed. Lo and behold, buying a bag earns me ANOTHER drink ticket. How am I ever going to use it? hmm.. Avocado toast - toasted and topped with nori, sea salt, and drizzled with olive oil. An awesome way to start the day, particularly before my exam. I devoured the whole thing. Never did I think I would have the opportunity to experience La Barba again. Given my geography, this is likely my last time unless they expand to California. Though who knows what the future holds... read more

This coffee is BANGIN & high caffeine content The coffee shop is definitely a work space (you know the vibes, when there's a million tiny tables all lined up for parties of 1 to chug caffeine and clatter all over their MacBooks) Overall another gentrified coffee shop space. Urban warehouse look with a ton of plants. But hey, the coffee was excellent and I sat and listened to my audiobook for awhile while i people watched & judged strangers. read more

Hip, modern, spendy-trendy place with good coffee and decent pastries. It's a little industrial-vibe-restaurant-starter-kit for me, but was perfectly tasty. The Nutella toast was over the top sweet but balanced the coffee nicely. The berry coffee cake was cloying, just not my thing but seemed fine for those who like that sort of vibe. I love La Barba. It's straight up the only non-chain/cool coffee shop in Draper. Very nice to finally have a chill spot to meet with friends. I'm not in love with the coffee. It's a little too acidic for me, but that's probably because I have had covid a couple times. Everyone else seems to really love it and I really wish I did too. The chai tea is my go to here and is paired well with the oatmeal. If you get the oatmeal know it comes loaded with goods and is even better if you ask for blueberries. They care about quality ingredients, and the milk is well sourced, so high five to them for that. They did an excellent job with the space. It is light, clean, sophisticated and urban. All in all I totally recommend this place and I think you'll be pleased with the overall experience too. read more

I met a friend here for coffee/brunch and it was nice. I'd been to Seabird, which is located upstairs from the coffee shop, but it was my first time inside the coffee shop. I had an almond milk latte and avocado toast, my friend had a mocha latte. It was a busy spot, but still great for conversation and brunch. read more

I've tried several times since it's the location closest to me. When I've addressed it with the staff they've told me that they make it correctly and all of the other locations must be wrong. No willingness to even try and understand why theirs is different. I just don't go there anymore.

Also had a mango mimosa and my wife ordered a cold pistachio latte and it was heaven. I'm definitely returning in a couple months to see if there's any improvement and will update.
