Honestly the drinks are kind of mid. Definitely on the more pricier side, in my opinion. The drinks are not bad, but they aren't anything too crazy. This place is a drive through coffee shop, with the option for walk up. The drive through lines can get a bit long but they typically move fast. I have been going here basically everyday for the past 3-4 years. I can't stop going here though because I would literally sell my soul for the workers here. They're so incredibly friendly and even go beyond by always remembering my order. This place is my ride or die for this reason. BTW - Try their "dad blaster"! My daughter told me about this drive-thru coffee shop. After trying their frozen mocha, I was hooked. I've been here dozens of times of times before, and their frozen mocha is pretty consistent, nice and creamy with a added chocolate covered coffee bean on top. Lately I'v been ordering one with an extra shot of espresso, but can't really tell a difference in taste. This is a tiny drive thru, with two drive up windows. Your order is actually taken by a live person, not someone on a speaker, which is nice. Draw back to this place is, it can be very busy with long lines, which sometimes can take forever. I'm guessing it's due to all the drinks are made fresh, which can take a minute or two, with all the fancy coffee drinks people drink these days. read more

I went here one early morning for coffee. I quickly went in the roundabout way since it was so early and there were no cars in sight. The lady taking my order was really nice. I noticed the manager (I think?) came out instead to give me my drink. I recognized him from previous times and thought he might be just saying hi. everything I could possibly ask for in a coffee place & more! they have three (?) locations that I know of, two in sugar house & one in millcreek. i've been to both sugar house spots, but this one on 9th & 9th has better service & coffee tastes a little bit better as well, however the other one has outdoor seating. my husband & i try to come here as much as possible, his sister & her boyfriend live nearby, so we hit it up whenever we come to hang with them. I've yet to find a better coffee place in utah, the granita with an extra espresso shot is my favorite coffee drink on the planet. my husband loves this as well as the aztec mochas. on top of some bomb ass coffee, they have a hassle free drive-thru, (as well as a walk up window for all you bikers/dog walkers), insanely low prices, I'm talking $10 for two drinks, complimentary espresso beans, free dog treats (whether or not your pooch is present), & they're still one of the ONLY coffee places that I frequent that still have "buy 9 get the 10th on us" style punch cards. I'm telling you, this place can't be beat. my husband & i are moving from utah valley to salt lake county in the spring, & finding a house within close distance to a caffe expresso may or may not be on our list of requirements.... read more

But how pleasantly wonderful it has been frequenting them, which I still am! As previously mentioned, "Freakin' amazing people work here." I ordered a small latte, and after ordering, I realized I did not have my card on me. I called over the guy who took my order and told him what happened. I felt utterly awful to be "that" guy, but he assured me it was okay and said that since the coffee was already made, I could come back some other time and pay for it then. I love this place these guys are so great! They are always friendly, service is fantastic and my drink is always spot on! I get a double tall Americano, with extra cream and sugar. I've been coming to this location for about 15 years. I came to the walk up a couple of weeks ago, mid-day, and was met with a shock: although busy, in the mornings in the past the barista has always taken my order. Not so this time! The barista on this day ignored me, and the female employee taking car orders literally pushed me out of the way not once, but THREE times. I said, "I guess I won't order anything, then." And as I walked away, the female employee said, "Hey, in case you didn't notice, there's a lot of CARS who were here before you." Yeah: cars! Be nice to your customers, or they won't be back. After 15 years, I'm not coming back here again, because of the rudeness. The coffee is good, but the customer service on this day was enough to leave a bad taste forever. I have been going to Caffe Expresso since it opened in 1995, and love everything about it, until now. These past few weeks I've tried to support the local business, stopping for coffee any time I go out. However, every one of those times, NONE of the employees have been wearing masks. The one who comes up to my car to get my order and stamp my car? Nope. The three people working tightly packed in the booth making coffee and interacting with me (it's closer than 6 ft) for the transaction. Nope. I even offered a mask to one of the workers, and she declined. All employees should be wearing masks. It's not about them, it's about the customers they serve. I asked the person taking my payment whey they weren't wearing masks, and he said they were all isolating other than work and that it seems so impersonal. My comment back was that there is nothing MORE personal than caring for another by wearing a mask to protect the customers you're serving. I love this place! Only downside is the wait time - it is quite popular. We go here on the weekends. There's not many coffee places that use almond milk, and this is one of those places. Cafe Expresso has taken the best of 9th and 9th and moved to 9th and 11th. It is really a great cup... the Americano is awesome - latte's are extreme - and the signature V's coffee chocolates (available seasonally) are amazing. Cafe Expresso has it dialed in with great coffee, fast service, excellent snacks and quick eats. For a drive, bike, or walk up coffee - this place rocks it! We are always approached with a smile and upbeat barrista, no snobbiness and very quick lines given how busy this stand can get.
