I got lucky when I arrived in late September because many of the flowers had already begun to fade or wilt. I was really bored one day from just sitting at home so I decided to go for a walk outside while enjoying the sunshine. I came to this sunflower field in Rocky River, Ohio to enjoy some fresh air. This same sunflower field is also in Sandusky, Ohio. Both fields are run by the Non-Profit organization called "Prayers From Maria", named after a 7-year old girl who died from cancer. Every section of the field has a small card with a child or teenager's name and picture on it along with a sweet message from themselves or their family. It is really touching to read but also sad because these individuals died from brain cancer. Everyone visiting the field feels a sense of hope as they walk along the sunflowers and I hope you do too when you visit. I certainly felt at peace. The sunflowers only bloom from August to September every year (3-4 weeks total) so make it part of your trip to Cleveland this or next summer.
