The food was great and authentic. The service was slow. I understand that it was busy but we waited 40 minutes for our drinks. Eventually we found out the "ticket didn't print at the bar". Seems the bar need some assistance. The ambiance was also great although dark- it was cozy. I will definitely return.

"Not your average Mexican meal" I've ordered my fair share of yucca with pork. This one was on par with the best of them, and came with extras of a spicy pink cabbage topping and a sweet brown sauce. (Neither thrilled me, but hubby really liked the cabbage.) Hubby ordered empanadas. Both the empanadas and the spring onion vinaigrette that came with them were delicious! We thought it was... kind of cheap that our sit-down meal didn't come with chips and salsa. In hindsight, even without chips and salsa, hubby and I still didn't manage to finish both meals. We were very glad we didn't get chips!! Service was adequate. But I am really bothered that our drinks were never refilled, or at how long we had to wait for the check. When both people have finished eating and the to-go 3rd meal has been delivered, and we are just sitting here thirsty...... Anyway, a good find overall and prices within reason. If we were locals, we would probably come a few times per year.

I found La Bodega on Yelp when staying in Easton for a weekend getaway. It was easy to make a reservation and my table was ready when I arrived. Unfortunately, it was a high top. The chairs are really high and set up higher than the table, which was odd and uncomfortable, but the food and service were incredible and offset anything weird about the seating situation. Sequoia was our server and she was fantastic. I was perplexed by the pricing of dinner here because everything was way too inexpensive. When do you hear that these days? We started with the Uno, Dos, Tres appetizer of chips, salsa, guac, and refried beans for $12. Yummers! Entrees consisted of tacos and the Grilled Whole Fish which I had seen a beautiful photo of on Yelp. The fish was just as pictured and described. Delicious! Two tacos were only $6 each. The carne asada taco was very flavorful, but I wasn't too crazy about the chicken taco. The place was packed and energetic. It's not a large space so it's definitely cozy. Sequoia told us they also offer Sunday brunch and mentioned she would be working the following morning. We had no intention of returning for breakfast because we enjoy trying new places, but our experience at dinner had us back at brunch time on Sunday. Sequoia was our server again. Yay! We got a regular table this time which was much more comfortable. And entertaining because we watched about three different parties arrive, be seated at a nearby high top and request to be moved. La Bodega serves Rise Up coffee (I had wanted to try this in Easton) and it was really good. We were brought complimentary homemade muffins to start. Nice touch! A Sagrado Empanada, La Trinidad Taco, Huevos Rancheros, Refried Beans, Guacamole, and several cups of coffee later, we were satisfied and ready to road trip back home. We chatted with Sequoia a bit about the furnishings in the restaurant and were impressed with her knowledge about the hardwood and vendor. Who knows those things? Another surprise? Our total bill for breakfast was $36.68 (with tip). How does a restaurant survive on selling $5 empanadas, $6 tacos, $1 refried beans, and $4 coffee (unlimited refills)? I'm pretty sure it's because this place is doing everything right. From the service to the tasty food, La Bodega is a neighborhood gem.

What an amazing experience. I almost don't want to write a review because this place was so good and fresh. But alas the world must know that this is some of thr best food in Easton. The Eastern Shore needs everything they provide. Make a reservation because the space is romantic and on the small side. Try everything you can on the menu because the flavors are out of this world. The service and staff went out of their way to make room for me and my date ok in a busy night and even allowed us to sit in a reserved area when we arrived with no reservation. They should be commended for the efforts they put forth.

But I started to feel better about my decision once the friendly server arrived and I saw all of the good options on the menu. My girlfriend and I ordered a bunch of dishes and shared. We ordered the black beans & Rice side dish, along with the following empanadas: Shrimp, Beef, Pork, Crab, Apple The empanadas are huge. Our favorite was the shrimp empanada. It was so delicious. The beef and pork empanadas were top tier as well. The crab was the big disappointment that keeps me from giving Empanada Lady 5 stars. Not nearly enough crab flavor. I expect every crab dish to be good in Baltimore. The black beans & rice was an excellent choice of side dish. The apple empanada was a nice dessert to end the meal with. Although with the empanadas being so big I probably wouldn't do dessert again. I will go back again and order the shrimp, beef, and pork empanadas. Maybe I'll go during the week and keep my fingers crossed that the music isn't so loud. It was good R&B music though. Amtrak to Baltimore: https://youtu.be/54yPGPqkc5U

The empanadas are large, flavorful, and mesh perfectly with the sauces. The chimichurri on the tostones was a big highlight for me. Lili's place knows how to pack a ton of deliciousness into the even tastier vessels... with freshmade arepas and empanadas.. i always pick to make a beach lunch at Lili's a non-negotiable for our beach vacations. Yes, they have pizza, sandwiches, and other options... but the empanadas have won it all for me! Two of those delicious pockets and an icy cold Jarritos equal a divine beach bite! Today, I ordered two Argentinian Chicken Empandas and two Nutella Empanadas with a Mandarin Jarritos! The savory come with a salsa that is literally "lick the container out" good. The chicken is finely minced to make every bite filled with flavor and the empanada dough is perfectly flaky. The Nutella was an explosion of gooey goodness. Packed with Nutella and sprinkled on top with powdered sugar, these empanadas make you wonder why they aren't on every dessert menu. The inside is so perfectly decorated with gourmet pictures of their food options, signs to remind you that waiting for good food is a good thing, and a perfectly placed bottle opener so you can kick back and pop that top off!

So I was happily surprised by the empanadas at Empanadas De Mendoza. I orders their 3 empanadas and side combo which included a traditional beef, pineapple chicken, bbq pork, and French fries. The empanadas rappers were light and crispy and the fillings were generous and juicy. The fries were nicely seasoned. My favorite was the chicken and pork. My only complaint was that the empanadas are a little small and a bit pricey, but I get it - we're in a recession. Overall it was a great meal and I look forward to trying their food again.

SCORE! I said although I've never had them, didn't even peek at them on Yelp :: GASP:: and have been spoiled by authentic empanadas growing up in the NYC area that I would still give them a shot bc I totally needed to eat some stress away and empanadas sounded like the perfect escape to do so. The line was fairly long for the truck but they had it running like a well oiled machine and the guy taking orders was super friendly which made waiting in the cold and dark totally worth it . I went with the 3 empanadas + a side so that I could totally truly give them a fair shot and see what they were working with. I opted for the Spicy Beef, Honey BBQ Pork and the 3 Cheese empanadas + the Chimichurri Fries as a side. OOOOOOOOOMMMGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! Every morsel of these empanadas, those damn fries and the side dipping sauces were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! I literally devoured everything all by myself in under 15 minutes....and I am PROUD ! This place is legit and their flavors are magical! The spicy beef was spicy, the 3 cheeses were cheesy, the honey bbq was perfectly pulled pork like and those fries with the sauces were restaurant week worthy! I can't wait to try the other empanadas on their next go round and must say that my entire week is all better because of Empanadas De Mendoza
