The labneh ice cream was completely out of this world, and the olive oil cake was excellent as well. A couple of small notes: the endive salad wasn't our favorite because it was covered in onions, which wasn't mentioned and unfortunately I really dislike onions. The bar section has a wide screen television and seating at tables or directly by the bar. It is small and nice. The location is convenient, especially if you don't want to leave the Inn. There are coffee shops and restaurants in town (including Ava's & Limoncello). The dining area has a fireplace and water themed decorations. The menu has salads and sandwiches and pub food. Hubby enjoyed the mussels & a burger. The French fries were yummy. The Impossible burgers were good. The home made dressing had apple cider vinegar in it, which made the dish. I asked for extra pickles and finally found a bartender who "gets" me. She brought a large portion. We had an unrushed visit with our friends. Tip: If you want ice for your room ask for two cups to carry with you when you are done. You can also order an ice bucket from guest services.

The Fool's Lantern was newly open (like pretty brand new!) and we saw the self-serve wine machines which are always fun. The four of us came in and the staff was super welcoming and didn't bat an eye at us just wanting to get some wine and hang out (versus getting food also). Our friends had a couple issues with using their card in the machine so ended up sharing ours. But you can attribute that to opening kinks! We had checked out their food menu and it looked good, so we actually came back a second time that day for lunch. We got a few tapas to share and I got the curry chicken salad sandwich. The staff are wonderfully patient! It has a quiet yet cheerful atmosphere. Mecca was our very caring waitstaff. Melissa was the Manager. My companion and I each had a concern, about which we spoke with Melissa. We said we'd mention these in our Yelp review. 1. I came in just after the restaurant opened at 11:30 am. To my horror, the floors were soaking wet. My walking stick (both I and my friend are senior citizens) nearly flew out of my hands. I nearly fell -- but caught myself. Such washing, important as it is, needs to be done -- and be thoroughly dry! -- well before ANY guests arrive! 2. My friend couldn't easily enter the restaurant because the door is very heavy and she couldn't reach the single cleat that was intended as a grab bar. A server came to her rescue and helped her inside. In order to keep us seniors independent and UNembarrased for as long as possible, more grab bars and a railing need to be installed at the primary entry as well as at the secondary one. The 2nd entrance, also on Talbot Street, should be available ALL THE TIME; this entry has no steps into the restaurant, and there are easily reachable tables right there. In many ways I highly recommend this restaurant, with the above-described cautions appropriately taken into account.

At one point a woman passed out and an ambulance came, but there was a group of nurses nearby who said she was fine and had just had a little too much to drink. It honestly added to the wild, lively bar atmosphere. Drinks were very reasonably priced too -- we only spent about $37 for the afternoon. Great music, great vibe, and a fun crowd.
