This is my second time visiting this location! The smell alone got me right into the door the first with the lemon aroma filling the place! The cookies are really good. I got the macadamia lemon, chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. Great service. My only complaint is the girl taking orders which I believe is the owner as she was the person serving me both times never changes her gloves. The first time there, the person in front of me paid with cash. She didn't switch gloves but she did use sanitizer on the gloves. Either way, it's gross and she should change gloves especially after touching cash. This is the reason for the 4 stars. Other than that, great product and service. read more

They post their weekly lineup on Instagram, and I always look forward to seeing what's coming next. The family who owns and runs this adorable bakery is incredibly kind and genuinely invested in the community. Cash, who usually works the front counter at the Uptown location, is always so friendly and welcoming--he never fails to make me smile. So glad they are in The Alley right near my work, but also it's kind of a bummer because now I will be here ALL the time. I can't even pick a favorite cookie because they are all delicious. Great cookies, brownies and crookies. Everything I tried is fresh and delicious. I really liked the chocolate chip cookie and croissant combo which I call the crookie. I am not sure if that is what it's called but I have been looking to try that combo at any bakery for 6 months. All the cookies were moist and delicious. This place is expensive $6.00 per cookie which is the highest I ever paid for a single cookie. I lived in New York City for decades and I have never paid that much. I came close to $6.00 though at some places in NYC. I recommend the 4 for $20.00 deal that is the best if want to get multiple items. The owner is really nice and creative with his items. Stopped by the La Bonbonniere Bakery to grab some treats for the holiday weekend. I opted for the 4 for $20 option and chose the snickerdoodle, classic, banana pudding, and big apple cookies. The shop is really cute and the staff was very friendly. I went early so there wasn't a huge line or wait to place my order. The cookies are baked so that you have a gooey center, which isn't my personal preference, but because that is their brand I would say that the cookies were baked to their standard. The snickerdoodle cookie, was by far the best out of all the options. My friend and I were split between the classic and banana pudding as being the number two. Personally, I'm not a huge chocolate fan, so the classic had way too much chocolate for my taste, but if you love chocolate, then you'll love that cookie. The banana pudding cookie overall had a pretty good flavor and you could really get the banana coming through. We collectively agreed that the big apple cookie wasn't our favorite. The cookie base itself lacked flavor and heavily depended on the caramel and apple topping to carry the cookie. That's fine; however, the topping wasn't enough so that you were able to get it within every bite, so the lack of flavor in the cookie really shown through. Maybe having a spice cookie as the base for that one would help pull all of those flavors together? Only because I don't like the gooey center, I probably wouldn't purchase additional cookies in the future. But if you love cookies with a gooey center, then I would definitely recommend you trying out this shop! read more

The special was buy 3 get 1 free so I went with that. They have over 30 different cookies that they rotate weekly and they're all stuffed with something. I ended up trying the biscoff stuffed with biscoff cream, macadamia stuffed with dulce de leche, double chocolate stuffed with cheesecake and that amazing crookie....croissant with chocolate chip cookie on the inside.....truly amazing treats! I've been following La Bonbonnière Bakery online for awhile, but have not been able to get to the Charlotte Farmers Market or any of their popups. Low and behold, they open up a location directly across from my office. I had been eyeing the biscoff cookie and was waiting until they had it on their menu on a day I was in the office, and that was this week! What we got: Biscoffmaniac Breakfast at Tiffany's Crookie Smores Brownie The cookies are SO SOFT! I was not expecting that after looking at them, and instead was expecting them to be more cooked than I prefer. So they are the perfect texture!! We LOVED the biscoff cookie with all the chocolate chips and cookie butter, especially warmed up! The breakfast at Tiffany's was okay, all the flavor was on top of the cookie with a hint of maple in the frosting and bacon, so I was wanting more flavor in the cookie. My husband loved the crookie, but I realized, I just want the chocolate chip cookie without the croissant (the cookie part was fantastic!). The brownie, was my favorite style, fudgy and gooey, oh so good! I'm glad that I don't work every day in the office or I would be in trouble! I cannot wait to try more cookies - eyeing their classic chocolate chip cookie, oreos cheesecake cookie, strawberry cheesecake cookie, double chocolate reeses cookie, and biscoff brownie! Stopped by La Bonbonniere Bakery and grabbed four cookies to try--definitely a solid spot for thick, indulgent cookies packed with mix-ins. The guy working there was super nice, and while it's a small shop, it had a welcoming vibe. They didn't have coffee the day I visited, which was a bit of a bummer, but I'd love to come back and try it next time. The Brooklyn (pretzel + chocolate chips) was the standout for me--crunchy, a little salty, and just really well-balanced. The gluten-free chocolate chip was decent--not bad at all--but after trying their regular cookies, I have to say I prefer the gluten (lol)! The Cookie Monster had Oreos and white chocolate, which made it extra sweet and fun, definitely a dessert cookie. The S'mores had marshmallow and chocolate on top, but otherwise felt pretty close to a regular chocolate chip cookie. Overall, very yummy cookies and a place I'd definitely go back to. Next time, I'm hoping to pair one with a coffee! read more

Really disappointed with our one experience there. Made the drive to uptown and navigated parking, which is not convenient, to find very few cookies left with an hour plus left to go. While I completely understand that what bothers me is I called multiple times to check and see what was available and I also tried to order online with no luck. When I got there I asked the girl if they answer the phone and she shrugged and smirked and said "sometimes" I left without buying anything because the flavors left were not ones I was interested in and it would've been nice if I could've known that beforehand.
