We'd been looking for a donut place for sometime on our visits to Charlotte, and we finally came across Yummm Donuts ... and glad we did. Seems like one can judge a donut shop by the glazed donuts, and they were very good here. Slightly doughier and more substantial than Krispy Kreme, they had that same great glazed-donut taste with loads of sugar glaze. One of the things we really liked ... and something we never saw before ... was that they made all the Bismarcks the same, and didn't fill them until you ordered it. Neat. They don't have to make 5 different filled donuts, but can make one base donut and fill them to demand. Slows things down a bit but probably saves a lot of waste. Service was friendly and helpful. Inside was clean and inviting. If you're looking for that good sugar rush, give this place a try. read more

As a starter, let me note I used an Uber Eats gift card to order from Yummm so my photos are from my house, not inside the shop. The order was, however, packaged exactly as one might receive it from the shop, with my coffee in its own little bag with a nice bit of tape to ensure that nothing spilled. Each of the three donuts I ordered was tucked neatly in the bag with individual envelope-style parchment paper separating them. Not a bit of chocolate got on the old fashioned donut and none of the raspberry from the filled donut got on the chocolate frosted donut. Unfortunately. Because that likely would have tasted amazing. As reported by others, the donuts are HUGE. I mean the raspberry-filled donut alone weighed as much as three from a chain. And when I say filled, I mean FILLED. Generously so. By far my favorite of the three I ordered to sample and no, I could not finish it. The chocolate-frosted yeast donut was good but the texture was a little granulated for me. Hard to tell if that was the frosting or the glaze. Honestly, do we need glaze AND frosting? Last was the old-fashioned cake, which was more like a sour cream donut to me, dense and sugary. Also glazed. Pretty good but yeast donuts are clearly their specialty. Oh. And the iced coffee was delicious. Well done there. Overall verdict is five stars, as I grade yeast donuts by the donut and not by the toppings, as most of them are way too sweet for me, which is so not their fault. Their yeast donuts get a gold start from me. If you like Krispy Kreme you'll love Yummm. You absolutely get your money's worth, get your food packaged with near-reverential care, and can taste the freshness. Plus somehow, somehow, their prices are on par with the big chains. This bakery deserves our support. I'll keep getting their coffee and you all can have my donuts. read more

The doughnut dough isn't too sweet and the perfect texture, making for a very luxurious experience. Personal faves are the Bavarian cream, the raspberry filled, the Samoa (like the Girl Scout cookie) and the classic glazed. Best donut I've had in Charlotte. read more

Yummm donuts has been on my visit list for quite some time. I randomly decided to visit on a Saturday morning. It was clean and parking was easy to navigate. The coffee bar area was cute! There were two people in front of me. It must've been their first time as well because they had a lot of questions for the workers. Another worker came to check me out. Sadly, the one blueberry donut left and it was gone by the time the worker started boxing my order. I decided to order the Samoa, maple bacon, fruity pebble, lemon coconut, and strawberry white chocolate. The donut texture was nice and fluffy but the flavor was only in the icing. A huge variety of flavors from plain glazed to samoas, red velvet, butterfinger, maple bacon and beyond! They will custom fill your filled donuts with choices of lemon, raspberry, vanilla and pastry/custard cream (in plain and chocolate covered) . I don't think there is ANY donut shop south of Angel Food Donuts in the Twin Cities that's better than Yumm! Super nice folks, great service too! Charlie and his wife are wonderful people who helped fulfill a last-minute dessert request for our wedding. After our previous vendor cancelled on us with a week to go, I stopped by one morning to give the donuts a try. They were outstanding, and I was sold. Fast-forward 24 hours, and not only had they graciously agreed to fulfill our order, but they were going to try their hand at a custom matcha donut recipe, made specifically for our wedding day. Fast forward another few days, and this duo hand-delivered 100 delicious donuts, 50 in that new matcha flavor, directly to our wedding venue. And they were a hit. I have driven by this place a few times and decided to stop by today and I'm SO glad I did. The service was amazing, they were so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The caramel iced coffee tasted pretty good. Now for the important part - the donuts. They were SO fluffy and melted in your mouth. The custard filled one had so much custard in it. The only ( tiny ) downside is that their other location has Long John donuts that you can fill with two different fillings and they don't have those at Tyvola, but otherwise these are magnificent. read more
