This is a local/regional place and is excellent. Their baguettes are to die for. Super soft center perfectly crunchy exterior. We love going to La Bou in Elk Grove on Elk Grove Blvd. They make the BEST ham and cheese Croissant sandwich. It is absolutely delicious. The chocolate croissants are skimpy on the chocolate, tomato bisque leans on the sour side and their Panini sandwiches have a good amount of meat, but it is often soggy by the time I get home and the drive is not that far. i was at the LaBou Elk Grove location order 6246 04/21/26 12:36pm. I ordered Cobb salad but Omar entered chef salad. I expect chicken on my salad so I asked why turkey and they told me that i ordered chef and not cobb. One lady offered to remake the salad which would take another 20 minutes to make so I asked if I could get chicken to add to my salad. There is another food preparer who gave me a dagger look instead making customer feel that they are going to be served with utmost respect, I feel like I was the one giving them a hard time. I have patronized this place for a long time and this will be the last time I will eat st this place. It is lunch time right now and there is probably 10 customers eating. I am assuming tha this place will close down if they do not get their act together. It is a pity that customer service is no longer the main priority of this food place. The bakery is consistently YumYum, there is no need to tell Romero how to do his job, he operates on a gold medal standard. All of the breads, cookies, croissants, danishes, muffins, bagels, and coffee are outstanding!!! If you haven't tried their garlic bread, you haven't lived! The ambiance is very friendly. There is a lot of space, big tables, chairs and I love that they NEVER play the music loud. It makes for the perfect café to meet and talk with friends or have business meetings. One huge suggestion to the corporate owners would be to get the bathrooms renovated. Our high school used to sell bags of la bou bread and dill dressing for fundraising events and that's when I got hooked! I just recently remembered how good the bread was and have been frequenting here ever since. We place our order online and it's always extremely fast and convenient to pick up. Though note that they'll likely prep your order in advance of the time you schedule the pick up for. I scheduled mine for 3 hours later and after I placed my order, I got a notification 10 minutes later saying it was ready. The whole sliced baguette is $2.89 which is $0.20 more than a whole baguette. You can tell the bread is obviously baked fresh every day because it's extremely soft and essentially melts in your mouth. By the next day, the bread isn't anywhere near the same quality and is quite hard. It's definitely not healthy, but I can eat an entire whole baguette in one day when paired with their dill dressing (seriously the best dressing ever made!). The last two times we ordered the jar size of the dill dressing, it came in a cup rather than a mason jar. If you're not one to save mason jars, I suggest ordering a few large size containers instead of the "jar" option because it's much cheaper. Small: tiny sauce container @$0.49 Large: 2.5 oz @ $0.79 Jar: 12 oz mason jar @$6.29 For 12 oz at the large size (~5 orders), it would be $3.79 which is almost half the cost of what you'd get in the jar. By ordering this way, you can order according to how much you'd use. Definitely try their baguette + dill dressing, you won't regret it! read more

Their chocolate croissants are just as decadent as I remember. The size is nearly 2 times as big as Starbucks and it is so the perfect treat to pair with my morning White Mocha. Which is comparable to Starbucks for just a few dollars less. I tried their Bacon, Egg and Cheddar breakfast sandwich for the first time and it was bomb! The croissant was so buttery and just melted in my mouth. The egg portion was plentiful and the bacon was crisp. I will say, I needed some sort of sauce with it. Horrible service and rude staff/management. Professional and customer service care is abysmal for the bottom dollar, false advertisement, and staff miscommunicate on the phone, it took me 2 hours to get food and the food wasn't even correct. I'm even missing soup from my sandwich combo. When trying to diplomatically discuss the 2-hour wait on food and getting an order that's incorrect, it was my turn to talk the manager wanted to discuss the takeout medium or method used and that wasn't why I was calling. Instead of taking accountability and responsibility for what occurred the manager began speaking as I was speaking, talking over me and I could hardly get a word out edgewise and active listening skills are needed when trying to engage in conflict resolution this business was not interested in doing that based on how the individual even answered the phone she answered the phone and didn't even State her name I had to ask her for her name so already it was an off-putting introduction to trying to correct matters. You can't correct matters with an individual or a place of business if there's excuses and lack of accountability and just honesty. If I called to inquire about your combo and placed my order and confirmed the order with the representative over the telephone that is false advertising based on what I was told on the telephone by their staff person.
