I will say I haven't stepped foot in this particular shop but I do DoorDash from here often. The sandwich spot in Delta Shores was my go to but since they closed this is my next closest shop. I love the 3 stooges sandwich and they always fulfill my request for extra peppers and dressing which I really appreciate. The "prosciutto" is a little iffy sometimes. I feel like they leave it out sometimes in hopes the massive amounts of ham they use would hide it and sometimes I get thick and stringy meat which I'm assuming is their version of prosciutto. Their Elk Grove Special called the Yoda is my new obsession currently. Loaded with thick and tender chicken chunks and pesto. So good! Overall, while I may question the prosciutto sometimes, the fact they always honor my special requests for more dressing and peppers and I haven't had an issue with them skimping on toppings (prosciutto debacle excluded) is enough to keep me happy and coming back. read more

Loved Mr. Pickles and they changed it to the Sandwich Spot. My favorite sandwich was a chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon. Apparently they have new owners and things are not the same. Try the chicken salad sandwich which was boring. Just chicken onions and that's it. Was dry and the onions were sliced on the top, not mixed in with the salad. The Sandwich Shop is a solid sandwich shop, and it is the closet Elk Grove has to an Ike's Love and Sandwiches chain. I've been here twice, the first time I tried the Albert Einstein and the second time I got the Tupac. Both times I went, the shop was empty, yet it still took a while for our sandwich to come out after we ordered. If you come here, you have to get their Dutch Crunch bread. It's crunchy and perfect, and is easily the more superior bread. They don't skimp out on the meat portion, and it isn't overloaded with bread or lettuce- they have a good ratio of bread to toppings. The sandwiches are pretty big and can be split between two people. Since the sandwiches are so stacked, eating it is a bit uncomfortable... you really have to stretch your mouth wide to get a good bite, or eat your sandwich in weird sections. read more

That Dutch crunch makes the difference! They toasted the bread (oh yea crunch!). The meat is also warmed. I loaded my herd with everything except onion and peppers. The chicken is juicy with the melted cheese and special sauce and other sauces that makes it so yummy! And yes the bacon! Need that salty bit! Avocado just bind everything and makes it better! The Dutch crunch bread is highly talked about so that's what we ordered for both. We both got specialty sandwiches which were "The Yoda" and "Albert Einstein." Two different people made our sandwiches, and it was clear that they were made by two different people. When we came home, my boyfriends sandwich was pictured perfect with the perfect crunch. For a sandwich it's pretty standard. But I do love the options they have available and the creative names they have for all the sandwiches. The place was particularly cleaner than I'm used to seeing it which is why they get four stars! Cleanliness is super important while eating or dining at any food location.
