I have gone to quite a few of these types of Boba and Vietnamese Coffee places lately. I do dearly love Vietnamese Coffee and this places as it's named implies is also a great bakery, great cakes along side Moon cakes and puff pastry egg tarts. It is an enjoyable and tasty place for both pastry and coffee, highly recommended. They even have Japanese gachupan machines which my girlfriend got a toy on her first try. Nice to have an Asian bakery in Elk Grove. Pegasus has a lot on their menu: beautiful customizable cakes, pre-wrapped pastries and candy, a boba drink bar, fresh made waffles, and cake slices. They have a few tables and some claw machines if you want to hang out. I got a DIY boba drink for the great price of $6.50! The step-by-step instructions are posted, but I forgot a step (to add the ice) anyways. LOL. Add any and as much toppings as you like. They even have warm brown sugar boba, which was delicious. I asked the staff if they could refill the mango popping boba. He did it right away and even filled up my cup with a generous portion before stocking the bar. Choose your flavor tea (milk or fruit) and seal. I love this concept, even though it's not the best boba you will ever drink. I got Thai tea without added sweetner and it was very mild in flavor and thinner consistency as most Thai teas. Customized a 10" pandan cake with mango filling and it was pricey, but delicious. The pandan was strong in flavor, without it being too sweet. I requested for a plain cake with a greenish/white smear on the side and a few dollops of whipped cream around the top of the cake so that I can add my own dinosaur decorations. When the cake was received and it was much cuter than I had expected and although it was $80 for a 10" cake, it was very big. I was looking at a 12-14" cake and I was pretty surprised when the staff said that ththe 10" cake would feed ~20 people. So glad I listened because the cake was huge! read more

Same quality baked goods location in Sac. It's not amazing, but it's not like you'd turn it away if you're hungry. Like many bakeries, you grab a tray and tongs, then place your chosen items on your tray and go up to the cashier to pay. I came to get a few snacks for the day, and it was satisfactory. I grabbed the following items: Ham & Cheese Bun, Spam & Egg Bun, and a Curry Chicken Bun. I was greeted upon entry, but it's one of those greetings where it's clearly a requirement of the job and seems to come out not all that willingly. this place is pretty far out in elk grove and kind of hidden behind the trees, so it was hard to even spot the building at first. the inside was actually really nice though, and i thought the boba bar was a cool touch. when i went in, there was only one lady working and even though i was the only customer there, i was never greeted or asked if i needed help. i originally came for a cake, but after seeing the prices i ended up just getting pastries instead, which somehow still came out to around the same price as the cake. the pastries were okay overall, but i do wish there were more pastry options. so far my favorite thing i tried were the matcha mini moon cakes. i really wanted to love this place, but the customer service and overall experience just didn't match the drive out there for me. read more

3-ish stars rounded up. Out of all of the cakes that I've ordered in the Sac area off of a preset cake catalog, the one I received here is one of the prettiest! However, downsides are that the edible personalized writing for the cake could have looked cleaner, the inside of the cake had a lot of hollowness in the cream/fruit layers making cake slices fall apart easily when transferring them onto plates, and the mango pieces (I ordered the vanilla mango cake) tasted bland and not ripe. Other things that I tried here were mooncakes (nice chew with plentiful filling but the pineapple and yellow lotus ones in particular could've been a tad less sweet), BBQ pork bun (flavorful and I like that there's a tinge of vinegar-like taste to cut the richness), matcha bun (noticeable matcha taste in the filling but wished that the filling was custard-based and not whipped-cream-based), and Hong Kong milk tea (pretty good standard HK milk tea!). Stopped in to try their mango pomelo sago. How can you call it pomelo when there's only 1 tiny piece of pomelo? I originally said I would enjoy my dessert at the bakery so I received my order in a bowl but I decided to take it to go. I poured it into the to go container they gave me & it was less than the one they had already had pre-made in the case so just ask for it to go. They give you less when you dine in. Stopped by on 9:30 AM on a Saturday morning and bakery was not busy at all. Staff were working to get all the goodies out. This location is not nearly as busy as the south Sacramento location. There is also plenty of parking at this location. My husband and I bought the bread with spam and egg in it. It was a delightful snack. We also ordered drinks: I got a Hong Kong milk tea with no sugar. It was okay, I just wish it came out a little hotter. There was plenty of seating - a great place to lounge and read a good book! We also ordered steamed buns to go. Unfortunately they did not have any chicken ones, so we settled for the pork buns, however were still good and would order again. read more

Came by around noon on a Saturday and it wasn't busy and it's a big parking lot. Same plaza as oz Korean bbq. Not many tables inside but can definitely sit and enjoy your pastries. I got the donut on a stick which has a literally stick in it, lol. It's coated with sugar. I also got a pastry with coconut filling inside. Seemed like a shredded coconut type of paste since it was thick. Both were really dense breads and wish it was a bit lighter and not exactly my cup of tea. First time visiting Pegasus Bakery because I was craving pineapple buns and coconut cream buns. OMG! They're not just legit but invoked my favorite childhood memories!! I also got cocktail buns and bbq baked buns. Everything is delicious! The best part was the hostess. She's very nice and professional. I ordered a cake for my friend's birthday and she said it was delicious! I ordered over the phone and they were super friendly and open to customizing the design and flavor of the cake. I thought the fruit melody was pretty but my friend likes only strawberry so they made it a strawberry cake topped with all strawberries! In this economy??? We stopped by the bakery around 7:30 PM. It was pretty quiet inside with only a few customers and not many pastries left which is understandable since it was the end of the night. One pastry on display had visible mold, which made me a bit uneasy and question how often the pastries are rotated or checked. I did bring this to their attention and someone came out to check the rest of the pastries. There were also quite a few fruit flies around the pastry case and boba area. I actually noticed a fruit fly on one of the pastries I thought of purchasing but didn't end up getting for that reason. The customer service was nice. The staff greeted us and offered sample cups for their build-your-own-boba station. They were patient while we decided. I loved the idea of customizing your own drink especially with unlimited toppings. It's a creative and fun concept that adds a nice touch to the experience. We ended up ordering two pastries and one boba for $12.95. As we sat to enjoy our purchases, the fruit flies around the seating area made it hard to fully enjoy our food so we brought the rest home. The location itself is convenient with plenty of parking and has a cute, modern set up. However, it didn't feel as fresh and inviting as the original location on Stockton Blvd. which I've always enjoyed going to. Overall, great concept and friendly service but the cleanliness and pastry quality could use some improvement. Maybe will come again a different time and give them another chance. read more

This small bakery/cafe has a very similar look to T&5 Bakery Cafe except I might prefer T&5 more over here. Prices are on the high side and I think you're paying for the presentation over flavor. Not really a fan of their baked pastries that they had available, their pineapple bun was flavorless and I didn't like the flavor of their polish bun. Service was also pretty meh. We were driving around and I saw this Asian bakery in the back area and thought they might have Pak Thong Koh or Chinese rice cakes. I always loved them as a kind. The place was set in the back lot across from Oz. There are not many businesses located here so it really isn't a good location. You would have to know about it or stumble on to it like I did. The place is like 85C Bakery. You can pick from pastries already made. I didn't see the rice cakes but I saw they had the Soufflé Pancakes which I love too. I asked to get that. The server said those are only made between 3-7PM. I was totally disappointed. Why can't they server them anytime. Oh well it was too long to wait till then. Maybe some other time. The place is really clean and there were only one couple inside. They have outside seating too. I guess they would get more traffic when more businesses come here. I was in the area, and I remembered there was a new Pegasus bakery in this area. I've been to the one in South Sac. This one is significantly smaller but has everything you need. I like their buns, the bread is always soft and fluffy. I also go the warm soy milk which was also good. I like their cakes but they are REALLY expensive. They do have a Monday - Thursday 3-6pm deal called sweet box deal which is 2 buns and 2 drinks for $16 The bakery part looks very delicious and tried 3 different fillings buns. All were good texture and flavor. After loving the HK milk tea at the south sac location, I was pretty disappointed with the one here. I was excited to hear that Pegasus was opening since I only live 6 mins away from the Elk Grove location, but before today, I had previously stopped by twice beforehand and they did not have the milk tea, despite saying they made it. I finally stopped by again today and was happy I could order it and that it came in a good sized cup, but upon my very first sips, it was very watered down. I didn't even want to try to finish drinking it. I have come for buns and the Swiss roll cakes multiple times before, and they are ok here. Not too flavorful and a bit on the dryer side. I do like the packaged almond cookies in the bag that you can buy to go though. Additionally, the self serve boba is one of the better options when you come here. I have enjoyed the Jasmine milk tea with the unlimited toppings. The location has easy parking and some seating inside, and everything is very aesthetically pleasing. The cakes look beautiful, and I do love that there are many dessert options. I have yet to try the HK desserts that are available from 3-8pm yet, but those hopefully will be good next time I stop by. Was just close by checking out a neighbor business (Cosmic Claw Arcade) and I was craving a coffee. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a Vietnamese coffee and my son got a strawberry smoothie. Both were delicious and a good size! I think for the fresh cakes alone, Pegasus deserves 5 stars. I was very happy with the freshness, presentation, and quality of the durian birthday cake I ordered. First off, I really like that they're open up until 9 pm, because I was able to make an order on the way home from work. I needed a birthday cake in the next 2 days, and that was enough notice for them to fulfill my order. When I came in, there was a young lady at the register just kind of standing there waiting for me to approach. I wished she offered a run down because it was my first time ordering a fresh cake here and I'd prefer to understand what's going on before asking a silly question, so I had to figure things out like find the price menu (over the cake display case), look at the flavors, and then ask her where the design options were (located to the left of the register on the side). Had she asked how she could help and lead me to the right direction, that would have been appreciated. At the end of it all, she didn't ask if I wanted any writing, so after I left the shop, I double checked my receipt to see if I was missing anything on there and remembered I needed to put writing on the cake. I walked back in and there was already a line, so had to wait in line again. When I got back to the same lady, she said, "Oh," as if yes she did forget to ask...maybe she's just new. I like that they had many elegant looking designs to choose from, an opted for a white cake with fruit, and simple curved lines in the frosting/cake cream. I ordered an 8 inch round durian cake, which was $76. I thought it was on the pricey side because I compared with another local Asian bakery that I usually go to, but only had reference to what was probably the outdated prices. I was a little bit nervous for the quality cake I was going to get, however I was very pleased with the quality when I got it. I think I've found a new bakery to consistently go to now! The cake design was very accurate to the picture. The lines were very crisp and clean looking in the cake cream (very light whipped type of cream). The mixed fruits were very fresh and they were dusted with a light layer of powdered sugar. It appears there was 2 thicker layers of chunky durian pieces mixed with cream inside and another thinner layer of cream. The cream was very lightly sweet and the cake itself was moist and light. The durian was a little bit frozen, but I kind of liked it for the texture, almost a bit of like an ice cream feel. The durian smell is strong! I bought this for my parents, who both enjoyed it very much, along with the rest of my family...even my dad said "it's good" which is a very high praise. I am already planning the next time I get to order another cake. I had also picked up a durian crepe pancake, which was also pretty good. It was $9.95 for two crepes. The durian and cream were also pretty fresh in this pastry. I would get it again if I was looking for something smaller than a cake. My husband got a Hong Kong milk tea when he picked up the cake. The HK milk tea was a lighter color than I expected, and although you can taste the fresh milk in there, the tea flavor was pretty light for my liking. I probably would not order it again. Cane around 3 on a wednesday. We were the only ones there but later on more ppl came. Ive been here before and looked around at their baked goods and stuff. I havent actually tried any of them but they are in the pricier side for like asian/chinese baked goods. They also have alot of sweets and desserts too. I tried their make your own boba, 6.50 for a cup and you can have a sample cup. The manager was really nice and friendly and said that they change the drinks every week and a couple of their flavors change as well. Their drinks were okay, they had some fruity ones and like thai tea, assam tea, and ube. They have a good amount of toppings which i like, and i thought it was cool that you could add your own sugar level since the drinks arent sweetened. Overall not bad, ill eventually try their other stuff but its nice that they have the make your own boba. They are definitely on the more expensive side for their goods but hopefully its good. Advice to the owner: might want to train your workers a little better. No greeting when customers entered the store. Did not offer to write anything on the cake. I noticed a sign as I was leaving about a Father's Day special for free egg tarts with an 8 inch cake purchase, but was never offered it. Considering there were 3 workers and the store had only 1 other customer browsing, there's really no excuse. And might want to taste the fruit before you put it on the cake because for $60, it should at least be sweet. read more

Got here on a Saturday morning at about 10 AM and this parking lot was packed due to a car meet up not sure if it had to do with Pegasus bakery, but there were a lot of customers inside. They even went outside to the car meet to provide samples to individuals. A line was forming every minute that I explored the shop , but I had to wait as most of the pastry items were bought out and had to get replenished. Good selection of pastries not as many as other large chain bakery, such as 85 or Paris baguette but their dessert menu is what set some apart. (Majority of those items that cannot be purchased till after 3 PM.) They had good selection of Boba toppings for the make your own Boba area, especially Taro flavored agar Boba. The sweetness machine that dispenses sweetener was a little bit confusing as I've never used one before and wasn't sure if the tiny drop that came out was correct or not. Would recommend clarifying if it's literally just a tiny drop that's supposed to come out , for those who have never used one. Would recommend this place for sure, can't wait to come back on the evenings to try the desserts. read more

This maybe too close for comfort that this bakery is in Elk Grove! Didn't realize they had one here until we just recently had lunch one day nearby after they had just opened up in early November? Thanks to a good friend pointing it out for us. They are on IG & give them your phone number to collect rewards! We frequented just recently on the Thanksgiving holiday to purchase their macarons which are made by Sweet Oven Wholesale. My wife's favorite! No box to place the macarons though. Kind of tacky right? The young girls spoke Mandarin & knew that! This bakery was very new & you can see that. Can't remember if they had any tables if you want to eat inside. We just came in & left quickly! The owner was loading up their baked goods from the company van to unload at this particular location. So if you come when they first open they really don't have any fresh bakery products like they do at their location at 65th street until maybe an hour later??? So be patient. I noticed this and was very aware bc the other location has the capacity to prepare fresh bakery items. They did have cakes & cake slices & macarons in the display case though. That shouldn't keep you from coming to this Bakery! It was good for us though! Nice they were opened on a holiday! They may even be opened on Christmas if you're desperate right??? Mango & Ice Cream w/ mini Glutinous Rice Balls and Mango Pancake. The mango & ice cream was pretty good--not too overfilled and had a really good balance of sweetness. I especially really liked the glutinous rice balls, it was chewy, fun to eat, and added good texture to the dessert. Family event and a birthday cake was purchased from Pegasus. It was delicious but pretty pricey at about $60 for a round cake even if it was a taller cake, although I didn't buy it. It was creamy, the sponge cake was not too light, I like my cake to have some substance so this one was good. Just wished my wife had snapped a picture before we devoured it. Can't speak on ambiance or service, but based on that one experience, I think I'll be stopping by to see what else they've got here.
