Hands down the best croissants I've found in the city. I love the Logan Square location, it's super cute inside with plenty of seating. They also have lots of seating outdoors, which is so lovely during the warm months. They have a wonderful selection of beautiful pastries, sandwiches, and coffee drinks. Metered street parking in front of and on adjacent streets. Not an ADA accessible option to get in that I can see, there are three wooden steps at the entrance. During warm months there is outside seating that would be ADA. The service is usually pretty fast, although not overly friendly. The food is excellent and glad to have vegetarian options for sandwiches. There might be something vegan, but not easily seen. I am an absolute sucker for anything French. So when I see a boulangerie in the garden setting I'm in. The food at this point is almost secondary. We had the hibiscus berry lemonade and the dry bread pudding(preferred pudding to be moist) on our host recommendation. Both were fine not sensational but fine. Like others, I first tried their pastries at the Wrigleyville Christkindlmarket and have been to their physical location a few times since. The most recent time, I finally tried a Cookie Croissant ($7.95) and a Sourdough Loaf ($8). The circle croissants that they were well-known for seem to only be available at limited times, which is a shame. This is a really solid place for some quality baked goods. read more

Such hit or miss, and it's sad because I think it could be better with better organization and management. It's a local favorite not only because of the french croissants / baked goods which are generally delicious, but also because of the beautiful little off street garden patio which is a gentle escape. Unfortunately, the quality can be inconsistent. today the coffee was drip coffee burnt, and simultaneously under-temp when served. Sometimes a pastry feels like it's sat a couple days: sometimes it's great and sometimes its more stale. Service times are long and attitude is often indifferent. Individual staff can be nice, but it also feels like they are often understaffed, which leads to them working hard but also frustrated. There are signs on the door telling customers "be patient" because it's not fast food, but when you're picking up a coffee and a croissant that's sitting ready in the case... it's not the pastry chef is whipping up right there. Lines with 4 people can take 15+ minutes. (I've timed it). This is usually not due to staff being slow, but the establishment really needing two people at the counter during the rush: on person staying on the register taking orders. Often they take one order,and then turn around and make two cappuccinos instead of batching and prioritizing the orders like most coffee shops do to speed up the line. I've definitely seen folks walk away from this situtation. Little other things need attention. Plastic forks can't cut through the hearty quiche crust, and will snap. There are real mugs and plates, real flatware is necessary for in-house. Wifi sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't (and currently is an ATT-scramble-name, so someone is not sure how to change the name). Bathroom is sometimes clean and sometimes a bit jenky. So yeah, want to love this spot, and will probably keep being a semi-regular, but too many little issues to be top quality. read more

Very cute outdoor patio but the food here is bad, baked goods are stale and service is bad. To top it off, the place is wildly overpriced. After ordering a couple dishes, I went back to the cashier check on my toasted ham and cheese croissant because it still hadn't come out and we had gotten our sandwiches and soup. He looked annoyed and told me it was on the counter. I told him that the pastry on the counter wasn't a ham and cheese croissant and then he looked annoyed at me again then proceeded to go over to the counter and say oh shoot wait I have to recharge you. He had put in another item on the register although I definitely 100p said and pointed to the croissant. So instead of just making me the correct item, he made me go back to get my card to pay for a croissant because whatever item he charged me for was cheaper. He told me he refunded the other wrong item he had put in, but never gave me a receipt. No apologies at all, it seemed busy and maybe he was having a bad day but yikes. The sandwich we had was a good size, but all the other food was bad. The instagram croissant was not good! I think it was stale as it was extremely hard and dry unfortunately. read more

Concluding a lesson on Paris at school, my seven-year-old asked if we could go to France and try a baguette. I'm like "wait, we can do that for less than $50 round trip!" We did a Sunday afternoon visit and indulged in all the best bakery items-chocolate , Ham and cheese , obviously macrons, and chocolate tart. And oh yes, . I really felt transported to Paris and so did my girls. Everything was ridiculously good. Croissants so buttery and flakey, chef's kiss. Service on a busy afternoon was also great. The first time I tried La Boulangerie was at the wrigleyville christkindlmarket and fell in love with the chocolate croissant and plain croissant. So buttery, flaky, soft and delish. There's a location in Logan square and we ordered lunch! The classic breakfast sandwich with ham egg cheese croissant is delish. Of course ordered a chocolate croissant and it was amazing as the first time I had it. We also got the lemon meringue pie and that was so delish. Sweet and tart and perfect dessert. However, the Parisien sandwich was a disappointment. The baguette was stale, extremely crunchy and hard to chew. Imagine hard crunchy bread that rips your gums up when chewing, that was this. Sorry to be harsh but it was bad. The filling of the sandwich was good but the baguette was just awful. Would definitely try other items but staying away from the Parisien unless we go in person and have a feel for the bread ourselves. read more

Lovely! Walked here this morning with my husband and enjoyed a coffee and matcha latte with breakfast sandwiches. Their side patio is cute and inviting with many tables and a few soft seating areas with cushioned patio furniture as well. The pergola, greenery, and french Cafe music make it a very enjoyable atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and our food was ready within 10 minutes. Kind of a favorite neighborhood spot for the best croissant. Also they have very very good flan. Generally all their stuff is high quality and of wonderful flavor. If you're going in a larger party than 2, you might want to go early to get seats especially in winter time. There is no table service but the service is timely and polite regardless. My first cafe experience post-COVID stay at home order! What a beautiful space. I went with a friend for an outdoor coffee date to discuss our ideas for a podcast. Great location to chat and enjoy delicious pastries. We tried an almond choux pastry, tiny chocolate and berry sweet bread loaves, and two dairy free lattes! On our way out, we overheard a family speaking about the delicious treats to their children in French (that has to be a good sign, right?) We'll be back soon. read more

I like getting surprise bags from TG2G and then trying new things but everything has been my favorite so far. I've been to both the Wilson and Logan location, and while they are both great, I did enjoy the interior of the Logan location. You enter through the garden and they have a variety of pastries and macaroons on display as well as the menu of food. I picked up some pastries and cookies and everything was great. Hidden Gem in the heart of Logan square. We've been going here for a long time and can not get enough of it. My family is especially delighted with their point system and outstanding customer service. Their coffee and baguettes (not to mention their lemon merengue pastry) are to die for.
