June 21, 2026 (Father's Day). We arrived at 11:30 am and they told us the wait would be 20-25 minutes. The waiting area outside has benches and good background music. The hostesses had to step outside and call names out loud it would be better if they used the speaker system. We were seated at 12:00 pm. At 12:15, Luis came to take our order. As frequent customers, we noticed the new menu design and several new dishes. Some classics were also modified for example, the Steak and Egg no longer includes pancakes, so we had to order them separately. A nice detail we noticed is that all the booth glass dividers have a QR code for the digital menu. Drinks arrived as follows: * My daughter's hot chocolate at 12:29 * Soda at 12:30 * Coffees at 12:33 At 12:52, the runner Jhon cleared our empty cups (our first cup of coffee since we arrived). We asked for more coffee and he personally brought it, then proactively refilled many other tables. He was proactive and excellent. Food arrived at 1:04 pm. We had ordered 2 Steak and Eggs medium, but they came medium-well almost well done. The seasoning was good though. Luis checked on us at 1:22 pm. At 1:34 he offered more coffee and we asked for the check, which arrived at 1:43 pm. Overall, the service was decent and the timing reasonable for a very busy Father's Day Sunday. Personally, I like the food More at The Original pancake house, then IHOP even though they have pretty much the same menu. I think they're pricing is definitely cheaper. The location was very clean and organized, the service was fast and attentive. There is plenty of parking. The one negative I have to state about this location is that they automatically add 15% gratuity as many restaurants are doing these days. However, because this is a fast food type of restaurant I don't feel that it should be added. In addition, this type of information should be posted at restaurant entrances by law and they do not have it posted. read more

Came to the original pancake house located in miami and I have to say the Doral location is much better! Our service with genesis was great so it definitely made the ambiance and setting better. Since it's close to Halloween, most were dressed like princesses and it was very cute. Hot chocolate and western omelette was the only thing that was worth it! That western omelette can feed 3 people... beyond huge! As far as the 2x2x2 breakfast eggs and sausage was super dry and the pancakes I'd have to say did not impress me. Came here on a Sunday morning at 0815 and it wasn't crowded at all. The hostess Paulina was very cheery and upbeat and seated us immediately. Our server Mariana was sweet and very attentive. The standard American coffee and cappuccino were both good. Our orders came out quickly. Both our skillets (Santa Fe and 3 Meat Ranchero) were delicious and filling. The basic pancakes were just the right texture. By 0915 it was starting to get crowded so I'd recommend coming earlier unless you don't mind crowds. This is a Miami staple! I've been coming here for years and this place consistently comes through! The food taste homemade! Even though you could compare it to IHOP or Denny's, the food here is better hands down! For instance, I had breakfast here a week ago and the hashbrowns alone tasted better and were a bigger portion than its competitors! One of my favorite dishes is the Dutch baby which taste around a half hour to make...if you're hungry make sure you sit there and wait pretty cause it's gonna be a while, lol! Last time I didn't get to order it cause I got there 20 mins before closing! But ima dedo come back for the Dutch Baby! It's so delicious, comes straight out the oven! Warm diner that always smells so good that if you were not hungry already, you are as soon as you walk through the doors. I dined with a big group, and our waitress was very attentive and accurate with our orders. Food was good too. I love when I done at a place that has good food all round; gluten and gluten free. So, yesterday's Western Omelette was missing the mozzarella cheese. We could not find it anywhere inside the omelet. Everything else was good. The Ham and Cheese Omelette, Bacon, Bacon and Eggs were tasty. However, for some reason, this location takes too long to cook, package, and give the express delivery orders to Doordash or Uber Eats drivers on most days, especially on the weekend. We usually get our express delivered with 36 to 45 mins, but lately, this store takes closer to 60-70 mins to deliver the food after we have placed our order. I don't know why the cooks or the waitresses at this location take so long to cook/prepare the foods, especially on Saturday and Sundays. Please try to work on cooking, preparing, and sending delivery orders to customers faster. Customers like me who pay extra express delivery fees, are already paying expensive service fees, delivery fees plus tips for their orders to be delivered on time. This spot did not disappoint me ! I got the waffle combo and asked for a blueberry waffle with scrambled eggs and added a side of the home fries. The waffle was PERFECT! The home fries were very yummy but just a tad salty for my taste but still edible and tasty! My mom had the steak breakfast and the steak was cooked perfectly was tender and flavorful! I hate to give this place such a low rating. I used to come here once a month since I was a kid food used to be more affordable maybe 40 bucks with tip at most for two people now with getting the same thing I pay $70 for two people. Service is alright. They change the whole staff, and maybe even the kitchen because the way the food taste is not the same 2 stars at best. and that's just for eggs and hash browns. don't bother with the steak and eggs. way over cooked steak over salted and over peppered. I had to return it because it was well done. and when the second one came out it was just a disappointment. I had to use a napkin to remove the grease on top and most of the over seasoned pepper and salt on it. i don't know if they changed owners but it was a mistake to change everything about the place. the only thing that I can say that they changed that went right is the remodeling. but my advise don't change something that's not broken. never coming again. read more

It had been a while since we've eaten at this Original Pancake House and I don't foresee us coming back... My husband is Gluten Free so he was looking forward to their GF pancakes. To say he was disappointed is an under statement! We don't know if they've changed their GF pancakes mix but he used to really enjoy them. This time he said they tasted bland, dry, and bordering gritty. I had the waffle combo which included a Belgian waffle and 2 eggs and ordered a side of hash browns. The hash browns were sitting in a puddle of grease (nasty) and lacked salt or any flavor for that matter. I will say that the waffles were the best part of my breakfast. They were fluffy and delicious! Their OJ is also freshly squeezed and delicious, Just know that each glass is $4.99. We also asked for GF syrup for my husbands pancakes and the waitress seemed loss. We explained that it usually comes in a small glass bottle and is pure maple syrup. Instead she brought us a Sugar Free Smuckers syrup. We had to ask another waitress and she brought us true maple syrup that tasted delicious. Just be prepared to pay $2.49 for each bottle of 100% maple syrup. Another thing to note is that 15% gratuity was already added to our bill. So double check your bill before paying. read more

I also come to the pancake house after 1pm to avoid crowds. We usually get seated right away! Since the last time I've been there it looks like they remodeled a bit. This time around I opted for the banana chocolate pancakes. The pancakes were really fluffy and were definitely made to order. I would have preferred a few more banana slices but nonetheless the plate was tasty. Ordered a side of potatoes to get the salty balance to a very sweet dish. I've noticed most break potatoes aren't seasoned but these were and it made a huge difference. We did notice their prices and portions have changed. Went there to order takeout for my Son. After 20 minutes staff gave me the order in a bag with handles. I started walking to my car and the bottom collapsed out spilling food everywhere burning my hand on omelette sauce. I asked for my 37 dollar order to be remade with discount or no fee. A manager did not talk with me. They just gave me my order and dismissed me. They wanted me out of the restaurant. They were too busy to say sorry it happened. So let me give you a little background. I've been visiting The Original Pancake House off Sunset Dr. for over 40 years. I began visiting this establishment back when it was originally located at Town and Country Mall. I can't even count the number of customers I've sent to them. Today Monday, December 23rd was the day they lost a customer forever. I arrived at 8:50 am. I said we were going to be a party of 7 or 8 and we would like to sit in Jill's section. I was told that Jill didn't have a table for that many, I asked if they could put us near her section, so she could wait on us. I was told no! Mind you the restaurant was empty and only 3 other tables were occupied with a total of 8 (2 tables of 2 and 1 of 4) customers. After a back-and-forth, Gabriel the manager, who is a young man who has no cool about customer service. (Or how to keep customers happy) Was very dismissive of my request. He said he could sit us with another waitress Maria. I reluctantly agreed only to be told I had to wait for my party to arrive. Mind you the entire restaurant was empty. He would not sit me! With that I asked to talk with the owner who according to Gabriel was not in nor when he would arrive. I decided that if that is how they are going to treat a long-term customer. I didn't need to give them my money. I used to meet with friends and work partners there once a month on top of taking my family there. To make matters worse this place no longer has ham or Canadian bacon as a meat option. Very dissatisfied with how I was treated and dismissed as not important. Today we were served by Luis--and this is the second time we've had a negative experience with him. Both times, he's been arrogant and impatient, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. Today, just minutes after bringing the check, he told us they needed the table because it was a busy morning. We cut our conversation short, only to find no one waiting at the door. It's frustrating to see someone repeatedly bring down the quality of service that has made this restaurant so special for decades. Luis's demeanor doesn't reflect the values of hospitality and respect that we've always appreciated here. I still recommend The Original House of Pancakes--most of the staff are wonderful. One of the main reasons we go to the OPH almost every Sunday is because Jill makes our visit so enjoyable. She takes great care of us and makes sure our drinks are always full, even without us needing to ask. We enjoy the food immensely and being served by Jill is a big plus. read more

However my biggest complaint is about the management and how they treated a customer of over 30 years on a day the restaurant was empty last December. It was always full, and I expected to have to wait a little to be seated, so I was mildly surprised that the place was kind of empty. I was more surprised that it took the waitress more than ten minutes to come by, since there were not a lot of people there, and that was only because we asked someone to please find our waiter. We were starting to feel a little annoyed. We asked for coffee and placed our order. Another ten minutes went by with no coffee or even a glass of water, and when the waitress finally arrived with it, she told us that she could not fulfill my wife's order as requested because the manager said there were no substitutions (she wanted home fries instead of toast).
