Random stop by, looking for lunch again. Thankfully they were pretty good. I would run a 4.25 for the food if I could, veggie burrito was solid, tortilla solid, insides solid, lol. To be fair I have too high expectation for Mex rice cause my wife makes the best on planet Earth lol. Overall food was great, service was also great, kind, welcoming, professional. Resturant was cute and small. Overall this spot is legit and I would recommend. Will try breakfast burrito next time I come in. read more

I ordered a 1/3 lb burger cooked medium, what I got instead was a hockey puck with the endges burnt up. I'm hoping this was a re heat from earlier today but it taste like It spent the night in the fridge prior to re heat. Disappointing considering this burger is normally amazing. Ask for fresh patty. Ate at this place at least 5 different times and the food is always amazing! One of the best taco places. Carne asada and carnitas are my favorite here. I have been coming here for many years, I absolutely love their food. I usually get tacos de asada. Their tacos, horchata, and salsa are amazing. I love their salsa, but I have noticed that they give less than they used to. I usually have to ask for more, and even then, it seems like they don't want to give extras. The containers they provide the salsa verde in are also smaller than they used to be. Besides that, I really enjoy eating here! This is my favorite place for a quick lunch of tacos. It reminds me of a place I would go for lunch in Laredo, Texas. Good tacos at a good price and not a lot of food to slow you down the rest of the day. We ordered 5 tacos and two small drinks for 18 dollars. I had a pollo, pastor, and chicharron taco. The pastor seemed to be the spiciest taco, not to spicy though. The pollo was good wasn't real crazy about the chicharron, it wasn't bad but I would rather get something else. The other two tacos were another pollo and an asada. The workers are always nice and can be busy with many take out orders. I will be back for lunch again. read more

The burritos are decent, and the salsa is spicy if you have a low tolerance for spice. They have a nice seating are outside and some seating inside. The horchata has some pulp taste. It's conveniently located next to nearby chain stores. read more

Really tasty food, good prices and quick & friendly service- what more could you want? I get my food to go or eat at the outside tables if it's sunny but you're in a target parking lot, you're here for the food not the ambiance. Their super burritos are very generously portioned. I made an online order..said it was would be ready in 15 min or so...I got there 20 minutes later only to find the place locked. This was around 645p...they close at 9pm. I tried knocking and calling the restaurant phone with no luck. They clearly never did my order because I never got confirmation of being ready. I'm sure someone was in the building though because I could see the keys on the door...like they lock the door and left keys hanging from inside. This was a very disappointing experience especially since I have never order from this place. I will never try to order nothing from here. This event happened on July 24th. read more

I must have been unlucky today. I could tell that the meats were flavorful but the portions were skimpy. Runny sauce with little meat. I saw other people with much nicer tacos than mine. The salsa Fresca was not flavorful, the salsa verde just ok...all given in tiny little cups. The tortillas were just warmed but no nummy crispness. This place is great. I drive all the way from Santa Cruz just to come here knowing that I'll be eating the best tacos within the 25 mile radius. The location is great because you can shop at Ross, get whatever you didn't find at Target, the wife wants Starbucks, and next door you can have some bomb tacos, a generous bowl of rice/beans, and light-iced horchata. We just visited La Buena for the first time. They were great about offering recommendations for my allergy needs, and the asada is super tender! I like the way their menu is set up, how you can match the meat you want with the preparation you choose. All the items are clearly described. We will be back! No pics, we ate too fast. But they make their own chips and the salsa is roasts, blended smooth, and cilantro free! Woohoo! read more

In all honesty, everyone can have a bad day. That's human. But it doesn't change the fact that customers should be treated with respect. Food was good but worst service I have ever experienced. Go ANYWHERE else. Everyone who works there acts like they would rather be somewhere else instead. It shows in the service. You will never see me eat here again I will not be returning. read more

Unless you're going to Starbuck's or Staples, La Buena is easy to miss but I'm glad I know it's there. "Fresh and Delicious" is their motto and that's exactly what you get. A plaque on the wall states that their recipes are authentic, based on old-Mexico family recipes that have been handed down by the family. The place is very small inside -there's outside seating- and the walls are red and gold with large family photos on the walls. They have the usual tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, sopes and burritos (also breakfast burritos & huevos rancheros) and a few vegetarian items that are all made to order. The carnitas and carne asada are especially good, along with a full salsa bar. I had the carne asada torta ($5): a soft Mexican bun with perfectly grilled sliced beef, very light mayo, lettuce, tomato and avocado and a mild kick of heat. It was absolutely heaven! Tortilla chips are included but they were a little greasy for my taste and had a slightly sweet (?) flavor. If you aren't feeling like Mexican, they serve Angus beef hamburgers and Corralitos sausage hot dogs too, all made to order and served with all the toppings and sauces you can imagine. Also on the menu are turkey, chicken, salmon, and veggie burgers, along with French fries or sweet potato fries. It would be really hard to not find something to like on the menu. Great food, very reasonably priced with friendly people behind the counter. I have a feeling I may be going back again soon! read more

No stop in Watsonville is complete without a taqueria stop. It happened to be taco Tuesday! It's right next to Starbucks and Target but don't be concerned about authenticity-this place is the real. First thing I noticed is that it is immaculate. Everything including the kitchen which you can see from the counter is spotless. I had a chicken taco and a carne asado taco. Both very good but the chicken was white meat and lots of it. The Pico is hot and the limes were fresh. The service was friendly and the nice girl at the counter was even sporting a hair net. In two minutes I had my lunch for $2.15. That's a 5 star taqueria right there. read more

For $7.75 I had a delicious double cheeseburger, fries and a soda. The condiments and patties fit into the buns perfectly making for a neat and easy to eat huge burger. You add your own mayo, ketchup, mustard if you'd like. If your order is over $6.50 you get free chips and salsa. The chips are fresh made with thick corn tortillas and the salsas are made there. Really good. The soft drinks taste as though they are out of a bottle or can so their dispenser is kept up. Fresh tasting and lots of fizzzzzzz. The tacos are $1.50 each and are served on two tortillas. They use good thick tortillas so I didn't see a need for two tortillas but that's just me. I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food usually preferring to eat at home or wait until I travel to Mexico but this place has great tacos just like the ones you'll find in Mexico. I tried lengua, carnitas, cabeza, and al pastor and they all had an authentic flavor. The salsa had the perfect kick, the chips were crispy and not oily, and they have pickled jalapeños with carrots. This is probably the last time I come to this overrated place. Obviously y'all don't know about La Rosa Market. I bought an almost $9 "Super Burrito" and got a mess. It's like they don't care from the bland taste, to the way they consider portion control isn't what other places are known for, so why would they want to be known as a place to get a mediocre burrito for almost $10? The restaurant is located in a beautiful traditional building with a lot of character. I really enjoyed the ambiance and decor, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Even though the restaurant was busy, they were able to seat us right away. The menu was extensive, offering a wide variety of options. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, which were both good. The salsa had a nice flavor, and the chips were fresh. We also ordered the nachos as an appetizer. For our entrees, I ordered Combo Plate #6, which included a chile verde burrito, a cheese enchilada, and a carne asada taco. We also ordered a carne asada taco plate with a cheese enchilada and a chimichanga. When the food arrived, the presentation was impressive, and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately, this is where our experience started to decline. The rice and beans were good, but the chile verde burrito was quite dry. The pork lacked tenderness and was overcooked. The cheese enchilada was decent, though not particularly memorable. The carne asada taco was also disappointing. While the tortilla was excellent and the meat was well-seasoned, the steak itself was very fatty and undercooked. In fact, no one at our table was able to finish their steak tacos because of the quality of the meat. The chimichanga was another letdown. It arrived covered in sauce like a wet burrito, which eliminated the crispy texture you would expect from a chimichanga. As a result, it became soggy and still somehow tasted dry inside. The highlight of the meal was definitely the nachos--simple, flavorful, and enjoyable. The service was also very good. Our server was attentive, regularly refilling our drinks and bringing additional chips without us having to ask. Overall, we really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere and service were excellent. Unfortunately, the food fell short of our expectations. I probably wouldn't return for dinner, but I would consider stopping by for happy hour, some nachos or appetizers, and to enjoy the ambiance.
