    Beet salad + marinated artichoke

La Buvette is a fantastic spot to have a low key environment but upscale food. The restaurant has a lot of charm with various wines, beers, and other products for sale that you can explore + purchase at your liking. We went on a Saturday after the farmers market so we did have to stand in line for a while, since they don't take reservations, but it was well worth the wait. The service was great! Our server was very nice - clearly busy - but had a great attitude. The food came out slowly over time, but it was spaced pretty perfectly to get through our starters and then our mains. All the food was fantastic! We got a few starters and mains for the table (highly recommend sharing). My favorite starter was probably the marinated artichoke or the bread that tasted nice and fresh. For the mains, we got some risotto, veggie lasagna, and beef cheek - the resounding favorite was the beef check! It was so tender and the jus had amazing flavor. My beer was also tasty, I thought it was very smart to be able to walk around and pick what you wanted when it was convenient for you!

I really liked La Buvette! I had never been because it seemed a little too fancy, but it was actually very chill while still being a very nice place to eat. They had amazing food for a pretty good price, and I like that their menu changes all the time so you could always go and try something new. I tried the marinated artichokes, beet salad, vegetable lasagna, green risotto, and the beef cheek. It was all delicious but the beef cheek was my absolute favorite because it was so tender and the flavor was so savory and flavorful. I would love to go back and try even more dishes!

We love having an excuse to head towards downtown Omaha and swing by this restaurant!! Its our way to feel like we have been transported to a little bistro in France.. the food, the wine. THE BREAD! And the people!! We have had so many great conversations with both the Staff and the customers..the Boeuf bourguignon is FABULOUS! It is enough that we shared ours...But you really can't go wrong with a sharing charcuterie plate either.. decisions, decisions... tons of bottles of wine to purchase line the walls to go with that bread (made at the store) and cheese they sell in the case so you can grab them on the way home -put your comfy pants on and light a fire put on French subtitled film or show on the tellie and pretend ...

It's been several years since I stopped into this locale and I forgotten what a cozy little taste of Europe that LaBuvette can be! Located in the old market area, parking can sometimes be a challenge. Don't be deterred as La Buvette offers a nice respite after strolling through the old market and visiting some of the wonderful little shops that are so unique to Omaha. Offering a wonderful selection of wines, a rather extensive list of nibbles, and food dishes that are rather extensive. Specialties offered as well. Our server was super friendly and when things get hopping it can be a bit of a wait so don't be in a rush (remember what I said about European charm). A really nice place to stop in, but note that accessibility may be a challenge for some (narrow passages and stairs to basement restrooms). A great place to grab a table indoors or out (weather permitting), and just relax!

I stopped in with a friend for dinner the other night and had a delightful experience. It was quite a popular place so I'm glad we got a table promptly. Being a wine shop, they had an extensive selection of French wines, all of which you could consume at the restaurant for a small corkage fee. As for the menu, they have a constant selection of cheese, meat, and other small plates that stay the same day to day. The menu with the larger plates changes on a daily basis and can be found on their instagram. We had a cheese plate, the muhamara, and the duck confit. Sadly, even by 7 PM, the were already out of our first few choices for dinner. The cheese, bread, and duck were all delicious. The muhamara was a bit too acidic for my liking. The waiters were all very kind but the service was a bit slow. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner and I look forward to coming back!

Loved this place! I've heard people (especially SBH) rave about the patio here for years--and it completely lived up to the hype. You can't go wrong with a massive wine selection, meats, cheeses, and fresh bread. The whole vibe was absolutely giving French café, and now I'm just mad it took me this long to finally check it out.

This was the place my wife and I had our first date at. The outdoor seating is lovely when the weather is nice. They have a decent sized menu that is full of wonderful foods. The only sad part is, the prices keep going up and the size of the plates keep getting smaller. The meat and cheese plate is lovely, served with great bread and butter. There could be/should be more bread with the plate. **EDIT** - I was informed that the meat and cheese plate was supposed to be a large portion, a VERY large portion. The portion we were served was on a "small plate" - we over paid for a dessert portion of a meat and cheese plate. I am very disappointed. The wine list is great. The rosé is always wonderful. The service is hit and miss, you will usually get a lovely server but it is obvious that they are burned out and overworked :(

I went to La Buvette for my birthday and had a decent time overall. At first, I was disappointed by the long wait time and the fact that there was only one server who seemed overwhelmed and didn't check on us much. They were also out of the two meals I ordered, so I ended up ordering the braised duck leg which thankfully, it was delicious and helped make up for the not so great start. The wine was good too. I'd give La Buvette another chance, but I hope the service improves next time.

Amazing food and atmosphere! I come here almost weekly and have enjoyed it every time. Service is great, this is definitely a place you stay at for a while.

It's long overdue for me to leave a glowing review for La Buvette as it is my favorite restaurant in Omaha. From the ambiance to the food to the service, i've never had a bad time here and I don't think I ever will! Whenever my best friend comes to town, it is a must that we have dinner here (followed by drinks at Mr. Toads of course). The interior ambiance is so romantic with dim lighting in the evenings and not too loud of music which is great. The patio is awesome for warmer days and they even have heaters for cooler days! This place really makes you feel like you aren't in Omaha (i'm saying that in a positive tone!) The food is always to die for. I always get some kind of cheese platter which are good but could use more variety or upgraded cheeses but the bread and butter that come with it are one of kind (especially the olive bread which I always buy next door it's that good). All the specials are typically good but my favorite dish was the Escargot back in December (they have yet to have it again and everytime I go I hold my breath hoping I happen to go when it's a special again). But you really can't go wrong with anything seeing that I have a lot of pictures of many different amazing dishes. The soup is always a win too! And you can't NOT get a bottle of wine to split when you go and the staff is always great with helping pick out a good bottle in our price range and taste. I've never had a bad server. They are always super down to earth and just the right of attentive for me. This is not a place to come with large groups so reserve your visit for one on ones or up to four people. Six is pushing it since most seating is two to four per table. And the bathrooms are down some stairs located in the basement for those considering accessibility. You also may find yourself having to wait outside for a table on busy days. Other than that, this is literally my favorite place in Omaha. If you love to romanticize your life, this is your kind of place.

Terrific food! Even greater wine selection! Service was a hair slower than I would have liked it, but knowing the nature of the shop/restaurant/bar, it was alright. The space is very well situated and designed and decorated! It felt like I was in another world, somewhere on the French countryside! :)

One of my favorite places to eat outside and people watch! So laid-back and everyone is always friendly. Love that you can go inside and pick a bottle of wine that is conducive to your budget!

I've live in Omaha almost all my life and I'm ashamed that this was my first time. We finally had a Saturday night off so my husband and I decided to treat ourselves. We only waited about 10 minutes to snag a seat on the patio. It only looked like they had 2 servers and they were both so nice and helpful. Our main server was welcoming and offered suggestions. Even being off the main strip of downtown, restaurant so cozy and reminds me of a visit to a grocery/restaurant in Europe. We started with a bottle of wine from the store. They had a huge selection and the prices were reasonable and less than $5 corkage fee. For food, we started with the burrata caprese, and of course, the bread and butter that comes with the table. The pesto that came on the caprese was incredible, just slightly nutty but so smooth. The bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. If I could get away with eating the butter straight, I would... I ordered the short rib and it came with horseradish potatoes verts. The short rib was slightly crusty on the outside and just fell apart when you cut into it. The potatoes were fluffy, not too strong with horseradish but enough to give it a nice flavor. I couldn't get enough of this dish! My husband got the duck leg confit. It also just fell off the bone, and it was very rich and delicious. The real star of the dish was the creamy, savorycabbage side. Growing up polish, I've had my share of cabbage but this was on a new level. All in all, this will not be our last visit!

Beautiful selection of wines from everywhere

Well I was embarrassingly surprised at the quality of bourbons that they had behind the counter. Let's face it, If you're looking for anything Buffaloe Trace, or Heaven Hill etc... They have it! You may ask then why the low rating score?... Well, If you're into paying 200% and upwards over msrp for a bottle of liquor, then this is the place for you. I am not sure how this place survives with competing grocers and other well established sprit shops within 15-20 minutes of each other that carry the same brands. In some instances you may have to enter a raffle for the Wellers, Pappy's etc. But you would never pay 200% over msrp, which let's be honest - this is probably the worst price gouging in the state! Before someone states "that's business 101" I understand that they are in business to make a buck! But charging over $300 for a $35-50 bottle of bourbon? This is some type of slum-lord ownership that I personally would not mind seeing close its doors - which probaby will not happen bc everyone needs their hooch!

Fortunately, there was available seating for us outside on the patio, on a busy Friday evening. The menu looks like it changes often. They had a separate menu with specials as well. Currently, (June 2026) they have a Cobb salad with spam katsu in it. I might need to go back for that alone. It seems like it's an American fusion restaurant. All ingredients are fresh. They use a farm to table concept and an onsite farm for herbs and greens. We opted for the hummus small plate as our starter, fried chicken with pasta as our main. Both dishes were flavorful and packed with flavor. U loved the pickled veggies on top of the chicken. The hummus was made of peas, had burrata, and pesto. It was yummy. There's lots of seating inside, in addition to bar seating. The service was great too.
