Italian sandwich with a side of fruit salad.
    Michel S.

I was driving thru Council Bluff and I asked where to go for lunch. I was referred to this local restaurant. The service was good, the sandwich was filling and a good portion. Not a lot but not little. It sure was filling. The sandwich had a great flavor and the fruit was fresh. If I am in town I'll stop by and try something else. I gave 4 stars because the sandwich was good but not WOW! There was no WOW factor but it was good for sure. The staff was attentive and they ensured that I had a wonderful time while I was there.

Looks prettier than it tasted. You're welcome for the pretty pics!

Being wine savvy, I do tend to be a harder critic when it comes to wine bars so let's begin!! We came on a Monday for half price apps and good wine. I'm so happy the apps were half off because if I would have paid full price.... I ordered the shrimp app, my sister ordered the hummus platter, and her friend got the artichoke dip. We actually thought our waitress forgot our order because it took over 30 minutes to get. I ordered cold shrimp for crying out loud!! We finally get our food (on my 2nd glass of wine), and the artichoke dip won hands down!! The shrimp seemed to have been run under warm water for that 30 minutes to "thaw". It was horrid. The hummus plate looked like it came from Wal-mart. The artichoke dip was warm and the bread went well with it. So yay!! One out of three ain't bad. I had 2 glasses of their Malbec which was dry, fruity, and everything you could ask for in a red wine. So that was a plus!! So go for the wine and if you are going to eat, go on 1/2 off Mondays.

I happened to stumble on this place while I was reading Yelp reviews so decided to try it out. Cute place. Dimly lit and a cozy atmosphere. There was only a couple of open tables when we arrived. The waitress came over quickly and advised food orders would be 30 minutes or so due to the large party they had. Looked like they had a group of about 12-14. That being said I ordered my drink right away and we placed our order as soon as she came with my drink. I ordered the blood orange Moscow Mule and it was very tasty. I ordered the French dip sandwich and my dining partner ordered the special which was chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes. To my surprise our food was delivered in under 10 minutes. My French dip was tasty! Loved that it was served on baguette that was toasted and had Swiss cheese on it. The roast beef was sliced which I normally don't like but this was sliced thicker and was super tender. The au jus was very good as well. I had the cucumber salad as a side and while it was good it could have used more cucumbers and less red onion. I'd still order again. I'm told the chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes was good but not likely one to be ordered again. Look forward to stopping in again sometime. They have a nice patio which would be fun once we get done with this stupid winter stuff!

Veggie sandwich and red pepper Gouda soup

I had lunch here on a Sunday, we showed up shortly after the place opened. The ambience is nice, with dim lighting, floor to ceiling wine racks, a bar, high tops and regular tables. At the counter, we were told they don't serve appetizers on Sundays, because they close early on Sundays and appetizers are only served after 3pm. So we figured sandwiches would do. I asked about the ingredients in one of their listed daily soups, and was told they didn't know for sure, as it just came in a bag from Boar's Head. When our sandwiches were brought out, the waitress asked if we wanted anything else. I asked for a glass of water, and she told me to go get it myself, over there, it's self-service on the weekends. Then why ask? Overall it kind of felt like the service wasn't the friendliest, just a bit short and serious at every interaction. Which is fine, I was there to eat, not to chat I suppose, but things like this add to one's overall impression of a place. As for the food, I went ahead and ordered the aforementioned soup, and it was perfectly fine as a warm accoutrement to a cold sandwich. My sandwich was the only vegetarian option on the menu as far as I recall. It was listed with sprouts as a topping, but they no longer serve these and I was given the option of replacing the sprouts with lettuce. The sandwich was decent, if a bit heavy on the mustard. The baguette bread it was served on was chewy as baguette tends to be, so eating it was a bit messy as the tough bread would squish the toppings out the other end of the sandwich with every bite. Just a structural issue baguette sandwiches so often suffer. My friend ordered a Moscow mule and I had a glass of white wine. The drinks were both good, and there is the option of ordering certain wines by the glass or bottle. The place got busy quickly after we showed up, it looked like they have a fair amount of regulars. I wouldn't mind going again, and maybe trying some of their other sides.

Very enjoyable venue for some live music and great food to boot. I only wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this Cellar 19 even more! Went here to see a friend of a friend play and can't wait to go back. Food was really fresh and tasted great! Drinks were also super good and reasonably priced.

Decided to give this place another shot since I heard ownership had changed hands. Overall it was a much better experience. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with pasta salad and a cup of philly cheesesteak soup. The sandwich was delicious. Thick sliced pastrami and a great horseradish sauce. The pasta salad was full of big chunks of cheese which looked great but honestly it had no flavor. The soup was bland also but after some salt and pepper it was very good. I will return to try some of their other specials. Check their facebook page for daily updates.

We were seated right away, and it was a perfect day to sit outside. The hostess let us know they had workers outside, but we were totally okay with the noise, which ended up being very minimal. We didn't order any drinks, but for food, I decided to try the birria grilled cheese, which comes with one side, and I chose fries. Not only did it look so appetizing, but it tasted AMAZING. The bread had some sort of seasoning on it that added so much flavor to the sandwich. The fries were seasoned exceptionally well too. I'll definitely be back sometime soon to try more items. The food today was 10/10, and our waitress was very kind and attentive as well.

The food had a…read morelot of promise, though a few dishes felt like they were just slightly off from being great. I had the Cubano sandwich, which was good overall, especially the smoky meat, but I think the coarse-ground mustard overpowered the flavours a bit and dulled the smokiness a bit. A plain yellow mustard might balance the sandwich better and let the smokiness shine through more. The sweet potato fries, however, were excellent. My wife Laura ordered Emily's Salad, which was pleasant and fresh, though we both thought it could have benefited from a little crunch--maybe some seeds or nuts added in. Our daughter Alex had the birria tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos were tasty, though a little on the small side, but the carne asada fries were fantastic. Umai! (I am a Rengoku fan; if you know, you know.) I highly recommend it. Our other daughter, Sam, ordered the birria grilled cheese and elote fries, and both were really good. Her cherryade was especially refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, though the dining area and patio felt a bit bare. A few plants outside and inside would really warm the place up and give it more character. The music was pretty good with indie hits in there. I also tried the Old Fashioned. It was definitely strong, which I appreciated, but it felt like it was missing a touch of sweetness or something to round it out. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and I'd absolutely go back and try more on the menu. Their waitstaff was top-notch and really were on their game. The restaurant has good ingredients and solid ideas--it just feels like a few flavour balances could be dialed in a little more.

We visited Nosh before a show at Steelhouse, because it was listed on the venue's website as a…read morerestaurant in close proximity. Unfortunately, it was not the best experience. First off, the interior is pretty cute, so I will give them that. But the feng shui of the inside was not super conducive to holding a large crowd of people. Random smattering of chairs in different heights and sizes, so it can be too small for a large group and too big for a couple. There were two big shows downtown, along with the CWS people in town, so it was crazy down there. We had a reservation, but when we arrived, they sort of looked around to see if there was a seat for us (what was the purpose of the reservation?). They first were going to seat us at a low set of arm chairs with a coffee table between them. Somewhere you'd like to sit and have a drink, not a full meal over a coffee table. So then they sat us at a gigantic eight-person high top table when there were only two of us - pretty awkward. We weren't really acknowledged for the first ten minutes or so, but as I said, they were very busy. Our server was great, though, once he got to us. We decided on a few things to eat as we ordered our drinks, knowing we were on a time crunch before the show. We started with the "Devils in Disguise" deviled eggs, and those came out pretty fast and were tasty, with a nice egg base and a candied type bacon on top. They were not too big of eggs, too, so not the type you have to unhinge your jaw to eat, which I appreciated. After the deviled eggs, everything slowed down immensely. Food was coming out around us, but not ours. Large groups who came after we had been there a while, and had ordered way more than us obviously, were getting their food before us. Entree-wise, my husband wanted to try the Prime Rib, as it was the special of the evening. But our server let him know that it was cooked a little over, but in his opinion was still good, so my husband took a chance. Well, let me tell you, it was NOT good. Very dry and almost inedible. The jus that came with it did help a tad bit, but not really actually. The potatoes that came on the side of it also were literally inedible. Burnt and oily and hard, we couldn't even chew them. I had two of the Bao Buns, the Bao Chika Wowza and the Shrimply Irresistible. They were each pretty good, but a little on the spendy side for how small they were. We let our server know about my husband's prime rib being gross, and they did offer to make him anything else he wanted, but we did not have time to wait any more (since the first things we ordered took forever to come out), so he declined, and they just took it off the bill. The decor is cute and our server was nice and doing everything he could to help the situation, but overall, we left still hungry to our concert and got takeout elsewhere when we got home.
