Never disappoints. The food is always on point. Service is outstanding. Cute little place which has been extended for live music in the back.

This place is phenomenal! My bf and I needed to get out of the hotel and found this place on yelp. There wasn't much info but I'm so glad we took a chance! The best Mofongo!!!! And our waiter was amazing! ITS A MUST FOR US NOW WHENEVER WE GO TO PR! Here's the menu! Don't miss out!

Here for lunch with my cousin. Ended up ordering mamposteao with garlic chicken breast. So good! Good portion for lunch as well and the fact that you're given caldo to sip while waiting...this is great. I will be bcak as usual.

Nice bar. Air conditioned. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon and was the only customer for a while. Despite our language issues the bartender was friendly and helpful. I ate the barbecue appetizer. The price was cheap and there was a ton of food. All of the different meats were very good. Later in the evening it got busier and the service was still good and fast.

Excellent service, and great food! Music was way too loud though. Was close to us and parking can be a bit of a bear

Food was fantastic! We will definitely go back. There was bit of a long wait once we were seated, so make a reservation. Great live music.

Not the best but not bad either. Mofongo had a good flavor to it and the T-bone was decent. All in all it was an okay experience.

If you're looking for the perfect dive bar experience in Old San Juan, this place absolutely nails…read moreit. From the moment you walk in, you feel the vibe. It's small, loud, a little gritty, and completely inviting--exactly what a true dive bar should be. The walls are covered in graffiti and stickers from years of visitors leaving their mark, and honestly, that's part of the magic. You can't help but look around and smile at all the personality packed into such a cozy space. One of my favorite details? Look over to the right corner of the bar and you'll spot what looks like a vintage cash register straight out of the 1800s. Then right in the middle of the bar you've got the modern point-of-sale devices. The contrast is hilarious and perfect--old-school charm meeting modern bar life. There's a pool table, plenty of seating for such an intimate spot, and yes, a restroom inside (always appreciated in Old San Juan!). But what really makes this place stand out is the service--the staff is fantastic, welcoming, and they pour seriously strong drinks that are also refreshingly affordable. This is the kind of place where you come for one drink in the afternoon and suddenly the whole evening disappears in great conversation and good vibes. If you're wandering the streets of Old San Juan and want authentic dive bar energy, great drinks, and a place full of character, this is absolutely a must-stop. Highly recommend.

Always a good time here. Love the grunge vibe. The Pina Batida was delicious! Service was friendly!read more

After a bit of struggle looking for a decent place to dine on a Sunday evening in San Juan (most…read moretop places we had earmarked were closed due to it being a Sunday), we stumbled into Santisimo. Situated in an old, historic hotel, you're immediately greeted by a special vibe as you enter under a tall arched gate into a balcony-esq dining area overlooking the hotel corridors on one side and a bar with turquoise sponge-painted wall on the other. We were informed that they had a seat for two but somehow the young man at the entryway tried to sit us at the bar, but speaking to the waitress, we were able to grab a seat in the main dining area. I mean, it wasn't even full - but we were told that reservations are going to be coming in. We had the burrata salad (a running theme by now in P.R. - we were gasping for non-deep fried and fresh vegetables since the whole island seemed to have come deep-fried), tuna tartare, and a grilled pulpo over potato with tomato sauce appetizers. One note: Since Puerto Rico is a US territory, it does share a lot in common with US, such as portion sizes. We learned the hard way during lunch that portions are HUGE and priced high so that tourists cough up more money. That's why we ordered 3 appetizers here for dinner. Burrata was a welcome change with some greens that we sorely needed, but unfortunately there were many wilted red leaf lettuce leaves in there so we had to send it back to have it re-made. Once back though, we enjoyed the lightly creamy burrata on a bed of bitter arugula, sweet cherry tomatoes and balsamic glaze. It reminded me of the salad I make everyday at home, LOL, minus the burrata. Tuna tartare was nothing to write home about and the toasted mini baguettes were a bit too brittle and old. Rosemary sprigs on top really didn't add anything to the taste and were old as well, so ended up being more of a nuisance. The octopus was pretty juicy and good, though nothing like the real leg of grilled octopus. I enjoyed the combination of flavorful potato mash, sharp vinegary red onion slices, and the briny bites of octopus. As we were eating, the place became comfortably packed and people seemed to be enjoying themselves here. It definitely had that underground hideout / secret bar vibe - a lady just needed to wear a feathered hat and smoked long pipe cigarette to complete that 1940s movie look. But overall, we were not too impressed with the food - there were definitely better options available in the area. Don't get me wrong - it wasn't BAD and I think it might still be worth it if you want a good vibe and decent food in San Juan... but if you had other choices that are open, look there first.
