I've used La Canada Pool and Patio for over 15 years. The owners and people in the shop are very helpful. However, I have had many problems with the technicians which come to the house to take care of our pool. These events happened Pre-covid times. There have rotating technicians that will show up maybe once a month and I get charged up for the entire month. There is no accountability for the technicians and over the course of time, I have had to constantly call about failed visits.. . They apologize and are receptive but the pattern continues. It should not be my job to hold their technicians accountable. They also do not deduct the money from my bill. So basically I pay for a pool service that doesn't exist. I hope they can fix this problem because it is unacceptable for a business. At this point I would not recommend them. Use a service which is reliable. read more

I bought a new house with some outdated pool equipment. The 23-year old heater was not operational. Two other pool companies told me they couldn't repair it and I'd be dumb to try. My priority was to get the equipment working ASAP, then worry about upgrading and replacement. I called this company and they scheduled Danny to check in 5-6 days after the initial call. Danny was timely and kept me up to date by phone on his schedule. He took his time to orient me to all the equipment and said he was confident he could REPAIR the heater (ignition assembly) to get us up and running ASAP. We talked about longer-term upgrade options but he didn't try to rush or upsell me. A little customer service and building of trust goes a long way with me. I will definitely be calling Danny and La Canada Pool & Patio when I am ready to upgrade all this equipment! read more

I needed a pool remote as mine was accidentally dropped in the pool. I needed to switch it out before my 4th of July party that weekend. I desperately called around to find the remote, and everywhere wanted $700+ for it. I luckily called this place and they said they normally don't carry it but could have it ordered and delivered next day. I was so excited, more importantly because of their competitive price. I got it for a fraction of the price everywhere else had quoted me. Michael was very helpful, he called me the very next day when the remote came in. He didn't hassle me for a deposit or credit card info. They made everything easy for me. I will be returning to this establishment for all my future pool needs. They have me as a customer for life! OK - I am happy to report that while they didn't call back exactly on time, these guys called back about a week later and worked really hard to fix things. They admitted that the first cleaning/draining didn't go as planned and offered to make things right. I called them back later to ask them to basically re-do the draining and they gladly did. Now the water is crystal clear versus cloudy and grey and we actually are starting to use it. It's nice to know that they really do care about the community and work to make customers happy. read more

After my long-time pool guy retired we required a periodic filter cleaning. Ironically, I was referred to La Canada Pool & Patio by a nearby competitor also listed in Yelp* who insisted that we'd have to sign up for weekly cleaning in order for them to clean the filter. We generally brush, clean, and add chemicals ourselves, and La Canada P & P made no such demand, so we made an appointment with Michael on Friday, and the crew arrived on-time four days later. Hector and Arturo determined that some valve leakage required new gaskets. They had the parts in their truck. They finished the repair, cleaning, and gave us new DE, leaving our pool area clean in just over an hour. When the bill arrived it was just $4 more than the original cleaning quote (because of the gaskets). The total for cleaning and repair was less than the quote from the nearby national pool retailer's quote for cleaning. It's ten days since, and our filter is running fine. I will call L C P & P for my next maintenance. Five stars for meeting all our expectations. read more

This company does not show up as promised or scheduled. They used to do good work, but have just not been showing up for regular maintenance. They do keep billing however. We just moved to La Canada & inherited an older pool with the house we bought. We called basically to set up an appointment for someone to come out & do an overview of what we had & needed. My husband spoke with Ben & he answered all my husbands questions, set an appointment for someone to come out & ask if we could drop off a water sample. Very knowledgeable & professional. The next week two super nice guys came to give us our overview. I wish I remembered their names. They answered all our questions, had several great recomendations on things to do & it even saved us money. Guys were headed to the shop after visiting us & offered to show husband items we needed. They even brought out our solar blanket a couple days later to save me...the wife... a trip to the store & dealing with a heavy box. I am a very happy customer. La Canada Pool and patio has been servicing our pool since it was build almost 2 years ago. We had a very nice man service our pool every Wednesday. Almost 2 weeks ago I noticed the pool wasn't that clean so I skimmed the pool and turned the filter up...come the next Wednesday my husband noticed the pool wasn't that clean. I took a picture of it because part of me agrees with him but thought why would the pool people not come and carried on...Today I came home from work to turn the jacuzzi on and notice the pool was GREEN. It was disgusting. I am paying a pool service weekly to service my pool and it is GREEN with all kind of stuff growing I first think it's my eyes so I take the pool broom and tons of green stuff starts coming up. When I call LCPP at about 4:20 in a Friday the mgr of the store Addison tells me everyone is gone and they need to deal with it Monday and they would try to see if they could do anything tomorrow . He said yes your Poolman is no longer with the company so we're trying to get someone up there. I said WHAT? He said the techs should have cleaned it. I said it is green and my son was here all day Wednesday and he never came we know because we have cameras and have to put the dog in...anyway, after I heard the mgr say we'll try to get there I hung up. After sweeping the pool some lore I was so grossed out I called back and he said to me maybe your son was wrong because the tech should have come. I said they did t come and it is obvious. I thin said and because you truly do t care that we are having people over to swim and have made no effort at all to please the customer do t bother coming to my house again. I was able to find a pool company with high ratings in LC to come out and help me. The pool has to have green pool treatment and shocked etc... this was a $250 charge. The gentleman told me that it appears the pool had not been serviced in at least 2 weeks. I am so disgusted that these people took no responsibility and the mgr Addison tried to act as though I was lying and made no effort. If it was my business (since I basically) live on the street of the business I would have jumped in my car after work to at least to look at it and bring some chemicals. Proves they don't need my business. So disappointing! read more

Can't say enough good things about Danny at La Canada Pool & Patio. He was referred by a General Contractor friend of mine, and I have used him twice now for various pool projects (complete overhaul of pool/spa plumbing/pump/heater installation and purchase/install of iAqualink smart system) . His service is beyond excellent and leaves you very pleased as a paying customer. He is personable, knowledgable, experienced, PUNCTUAL & DOES CLEAN WORK. He does not up-sell his services and provides options that would even save you money and time if that option is available. He sets a reasonable timeline for completion and meets that timeline. I have used other pool contractors before and it seems all others I have experience with have tried to up-sell services, charge for extra work hours even it those extra hours were the direct result of their poor/incomplete work, and are rarely punctual. The pool contractor community is relatively small and specialized and many act as though you need them more than they need you. Not at LC Pool & Patio. They recognize the importance of customer service and loyalty and work hard to keep your business. Make the right decision the first time, avoid other contractors, call up Danny at La Canada Pools, and be pleased his excellent work!!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about La Canada Pool and Patio! I have used them for about five years for once a year start up service (I do my own maintenance and chemistry monitoring), general advice and independent chemical analysis. Ben is tops when it comes to recommendations for what ever situation is affecting your pool. I was struggling with cloudy water (1st time in 7 years) after all the high winds and high pollen counts in socal. After 3 weeks of extra chorine and the pool not clearing up completely, I went to my go to guy (Ben) with my problem. He explained exactly what was causing the cloudiness and recommended cellulose to "help" the cartridge filters filter down to a finer micron, that the normal filters were unable to do. 12 hours later, I have the sparkling, crystal clear pool that I'm accustomed to thanks to Ben!! Danny is fabulous as well in his expertise with pool equipment, settings, automation and new system enhancements. He is a neat, thorough technician and always listens intently to what the customer is telling him. He is cognizant of pump settings that can be efficient for pool operation as well as the owners pocketbook, which is always nice. La Canada Pool will tell you what you need but will not recommend anything you don't! Keep up the good work!!! read more

Service is not good. I used them for 6 months and was really trying hard to be patient with no call backs and lack of communication btwn owner and tech. We were not able to use the pool multiple times in the summer. The most frustrating process was as a customer I would have to call them to confirm appt.'s and twice when I called, they said they have NO appt in the calendar or the technician called me back which was a completely lie. I never received a phone call. There was no follow-through. I had to wait another two weeks. Our pool uses pentair heating system, which they set-up initially. It stopped working and I did my own due diligence on the system which required tech guy to come out and restore the wireless portion. Waited three weeks and when he came out, started complaining about the way it was set-up and he would have to come back with his laptop, etc!!!!! They knew what the issue was and they had originally set it up so not sure why he didn't come prepared with what he needed to fix the problem. I tried to be patient but had to look for someone who was more competent and and great customer service. Pools are complicated and there is always some type of maintenance which is understandable but customer service and communication is key in resolving issues. Sorry but LaCanada Pool's family owned business fails in my book. Wish I would have believed others in our neighborhood who had told me this company is not good but tried to give them a chance. Oh well - you live and learn. I was referred to Boles Crystal Pools and Spas and they were exceptional. From the start, got an appt within 48 hours. They called me back (I didn't have to worry about follow-up). Tech came out, spent some time explaining the entire unit with me and helped set-up with instructions on how to use our pool!!!!
