FOOD: My review is based on eating 2 lucas tacos and 2 carne asada tacos. While carne asada tacos were ok, lucas tacos with shrimps and guac were amazing. I can't wait to go back and have some more of lucas tacos. What they should definitely consider adding to the menu is birria dip for tacos like they have at Carmelitas Restaurant (2982 Dundas St West). Tacos + birria = heaven. SERVICE: Service was great. Nothing to complain about. AMBIANCE: We sat out on the patio. While the patio furniture could've been nicer, I had a great time on a warm summer evening. They have plenty of indoor seating if you don't want to sit on the patio. There's nothing special about the ambiance. It's your average Mexican restaurant with quite ordinary decor and ambiance.

Cute place with authentic (I think) Mexican food. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer. It came with homemade chips, but the guacamole could use more salt for my personal taste. As mains, we ordered the carnitas tacos, enchiladas Verdes, alambre campechano, and enmoladas. The enmoladas was unique, with a mole sauce. Both the tacos and alambre came with sauces on the side that were very flavorful. Their cocktails seemed popular, as most tables ordered them. We had the pineapple soda, but it was from a bottle. Overall, tasty food and large portions.

I am surprised nobody has written a review for this place when it's been around for a couple months. But wow, some of the softest tortillas I've ever had. You can tell they make them fresh because they are delicious and feel like pillows when you bite into them. We ordered the pastor, suadero, and chorizo tacos. Chorizo was nothing special but the pastor and suadero were comparable with some of the best Mexican I've had in Toronto. Our food came with three sauces: a habanero-mango, a lime-jalapeno, and something with chipotle. They didn't look like the typical salsas from other Mexican joints but were still tasty. Servers were also fast and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that my michelada tasted a little watered down.. but the other drink tasted fine so that's still a win for me.

Good Mexican food although not totally worth the price. The menu has some nice options and the service is decent.

Some of the best ceviche I have had! A little pricey on the guacamole, but it didn't disappoint.

The place is a bit small so it can be a bit tight so I would highly recommend having reservations if you have a large group. Tacos: The soft and the crispy tacos were both delicious. The tinga chicken and the beef barbacoa were juicy and full of flavour. The portions was fair, the quality was a standout and tasted quite authentic. When I went to the basement washroom, I swear I saw what looked like the end of a mouse's tail sticking out from under the door. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him honestly that it was terrible. I had only taken two bites, and there was really no response. I wouldn't have wanted a replacement anyway after that experience. I also had some fruit bites, and about 10 minutes later my stomach started gurgling. By the time I got home, I felt awful. I was shivering, felt like I was going to throw up, and had to rush to the bathroom. It honestly felt like food poisoning. And I still paid for my meal Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

For the two of us, in total we got between 8-10 different dishes to try plus 2 desserts. This is what we got: 1. 1 oyster each (phenomenal) 2. bluefin tuna tiradito - amazing, goes so well with the strawberries. My husband doesn't like strawberries but he loved this dish 3. scallop ceviche - a little disappointing, I specifically requested this because of others recommendations but it was just okay, the scallop was overwhelmed by the sauce 4. empanada oaxaquena - so good! love it with the sauce it comes with 5. tomato and cucumer salad- tasty and refreshing 6. scallop in green garlic butter (1 each) and bone marrow / shrimp. This comes with 4 tortillas so you can make tacos. This was my favourite dish! 7. fish (i think this is off menu) - but it was very juicy and this was my husband's favourite dish 8. pork secreto al pastor - came with 6 tortillas so you can make tacos. delicious 9. coal roasted sweet potato - this was just okay, probably our least favourite dish Dessert (both good): 1. Tres leches cake 2. Spiced mexican chocolate

It seems their walk-in availability is limited to one table. We gave them our number and went to get a drink somewhere else. I got the call that a party of three had canceled so we hurried back from a bar around the corner. They stuck the four of us in the far back corner at a table meant for three very close to the very hot oven. We did not realize and it was not made clear to use that everything on the menu was meant to be family styled. We ordered drinks and they took a really long time so they gave us each a glass of complimentary champagne which was nice. The food itself was delicious and we enjoyed everything. I would just note that this is a place meant to be family styled and make reservations beforehand or show up an hour early if you want a guaranteed walk in spot.

The inside was nice, it was dark with ambient lighting and decorated with a modern and Mexican theme. The waitress was super nice, and the staff were fairly attentive. We got the chips and guac to start. I do wish they gave a little bit more walk because it came in this really small cup so we had to go light on the guac to chip ratio. But overall the guac was yummy and the chips were very crunchy with a nice seasoning. They have a special every day of the week and Thursdays are there crunch tacos, which are hard shell tacos, wrapped in a soft shell taco with some sauce in between, and you can choose between their chorizo or chicken. We got one of each. I liked the chicken more but my partner liked the Chorizo. And all the toppings the perfect Fixin's. They only had three washroom stalls, which were gender neutral, and I thought they were relatively clean.

When we first walked-in, we were served by the cashier behind the front counter, whom answered all of the questions that we had about the meals listed on the board behind the front counter. The bowl was hearty, with many delicious flavours rolled into one. I liked how the food items were brought directly to our table, which was great service on the restaurant's behalf. The restaurant itself was decorated well, with many artifacts resembling the Mexican culture, even down to the music playing on the overhead speakers. Overall, this place provided us with an excellent opportunity to try authentic Mexican food, in an inviting setting with great service. The prices weren't too bad either considering the amount of food we had received.
