We came here on a Tuesday night and sat right away. There's a good amount of indoor seating; no outdoor patio. I ordered a skinny margarita and it didn't really taste like one, but it was good! And it came in a huge glass for just under $10. We got the quesabirria tacos (it was a special listed at the front of the restaurant, but it's not listed in the menu - comes with 3 corn tortilla birria tacos and consommé). We also shared the texas fajitas for 2 (steak, chicken and shrimp - comes with 2 plates of 3 flour tortillas, rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, and a little guacamole). In our opinion, this is the best restaurant in the area. The ambiance, food and service is all great. My husband had the pork carnitas - tender, flavorful, great with their table salsa. Our son had the fajita steak burrito and I had a lunch special combo plate. After a few years of visiting and trying restaurants around Houghton/Hancock, we are so happy to finally find a restaurant that we all love. Our son is a student at MTU and he said that they are always busy and a big favorite on campus. We completely understand why they are successful. Next visit, we plan to come multiple times for meals. This food is worth the extra cost of doordash delivery. read more

This corner shop has a wonderful inviting feel to it. We came on a busy Saturday evening of Michigan Tech's First Year Student move in weekend. The place was full with a line. We waited around 15-20 minutes for a table, and another 15 for our waiter to take our drink and food order. There was one waiter for the entire restaurant and he was hustling!!! We didn't mind our wait times and enjoyed the time to chat and eat warm chips and salsa. Our food came within 5 minutes of ordering and it was hot, fresh, and wonderful. Kudos to the staff for working HARD to serve so many, and to the cooks for a wonderful filling meal, I had the Arroz Con Pollo. We will be back another time when we visit our Tech student. read more

I got a combination plate (taco, chile relleno, and something else) that was great. There's some cheese sauce they use that has a ton of flavor. Great, authentic Mexican food 'way up north.' Who would have thought? Chips and salsa served fresh to the table--could have been a bit spicier, but I think you can order hot salsa. They have a plethora of combination plates that were impressive. Like the ground meat and steak dishes over the pulled chicken, which did not have as much flavor, a bit bland. The Mexican fried ice cream was heavenly. Wonderful atmosphere--transported to Mexico with the colorful interior and Mexican artwork and our server was nice, and the food came out fast.
