I will never spend money here again. Drove into the drive thru. Can't order at the menu sign but instead order at the window. I waited 25 minutes behind 2 cars. I get to the window, it's 7:58 and the woman tells me sorry they're closed. This is a mediocre "slow" food restaurant that doesn't have its #%^*+ together . 25 minutes wasted. No consideration. Slightly better than the other local fast food, but also slightly more expensive. I appreciate that the owner replies to reviews, so I'll try to be constructive. Need a real salsa! How did you go from that weird sauce, take feedback, create several more and still not have salsa? Something with a little heat and a little chunkiness for chips please! Every other burrito place or Mexican restaurant gets this right. Need to lower prices. It's cheaper to eat sit down food. You don't have the necessary atmosphere to compete with that. Maybe not having 6-8 employees at all times could help to lower costs. I eat in about once a month and it never seems they are all actually busy! read more

We never heard of Border Grill until we spent a night in Houghton. We were very impressed with their service and menu selection. We found it to be the Chipotle of the Keweenaw peninsula and so much better. The inside looks like a good sit down place making it nicer to be in than any Qdoba or Chipotle I've been in. Our family of seven ordered the Build A Bowl Pack and a salad. Very delicious and satisfying. We just wish a Border Grill existed in Minnesota. read more

Me and my friends were hungry and wanted to support local business. We called ahead and ensured the restaurant was open, when we showed up a half hour before close the manager had the audacity to suggest that us showing up at that time was "rude" Food was good but the cheese could've been slightly more melted. Great food, pretty quickly made. It's impressive how fast they can do it and still make it good. I love the burritos, and the chips and queso are a must for me. I don't really have anything super negative to say. I went in there one time to pick up some takeout which I could see sitting behind the counter so I didn't get in the massive line. I figured someone could just hand it to be since it was pre paid but I just got a lot of glances and had to stand there for 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me. It wasn't a big deal but it seemed like such a simple thing to do really quick. They are super busy though so I wasn't shocked that I had to wait. Overall super good food and good place. read more

Houghton Border Grill: Low quality, overpriced fast food. The beans were submerged in a dubious gelatinous unguent and rice was akin to desiccated and reconstituted pupae. The salads were tedious and insipid with rubbery shrimp and Styrofoam-like chicken. The chips were massively over salted. The sauces were odd, limpid dill mayonnaise and a paprika emulsion that could probably survive Armageddon. All in all, I've had better C-rations that actually provided three cigarettes to mask the nasty taste of the food. $40 wasted on food that was inedible. The people who worked there were automatons, but then they're not paid for personality. read more

Morri, here's how you can improve the store: Get rid of that burrito bowl or at least improve it. What the heck was that?? Go visit Chipotle and see how to make a somewhat proper fast food burrito bowl. Don't charge $2 for a dixie cup of rice and bland tasting beans. When customers order dine in, don't give them their food all boxed up to go. Give access to the bare essentials, don't keep napkins, plastic wear, hot sauce behind the counter, is there a reason you're rationing napkins? Try making some fresh salsa instead of packaged hot sauce, it's not hard to do and you'd be one step above Taco Bell. Let me fill my own cup with soda, Taco Bell lets me do this, are you still on Covid time? Throw out the stale corn chips, don't serve them to customers, and what exactly is that yellow cheese like glop that you serve them with? Your staff was great, hard working and eager to please. My Adobe Chicken Burrito was good, although with the measly rice and beans not worth $12. Advertise, I know you're on M26 but honestly drive past the store everyday and don't notice it. Somehow make your storefront standout from all the weeds, piles of rocks, and delipidated buildings on Houghton's wonderful main thoroughfare. read more
