My food.
Gabriel T.

Friendly staff; This will be my highlight in any Latin Food place, because we forget most of the time how to treat costumer, and how to make them happy. This place if full of friendly people, they are courteous and smelling most of the time. The location is very clean, well organized and food looks really good. I had pulled pork which was fresh and crunchy with fufu de platano, and mango milkshake! At least 1,500 calories, so I hope before going to bed to get rid off most of them...

A good completa of roast pork paleta, Moros, and mojo yuca at $12.50 or $13. The ladies that work there were very kind and patient. I went at 6:30 pm, and not much choice but it tasted very nice. My only suggestion is that they put the prices for whatever you're getting. You don't know until the cashier says how much it is.

Pork Sandwich, Mango Shake Smoothie, Mamey Shake Smoothie

I called ahead on a Monday around 1 PM to order a Pan Con Lechón and two smoothies (Mango and Mamey). I arrived at the ventanita a few minutes later and she was already working on the pork sandwich. When she confirmed it was my order, she began working on the shakes. She was very nice and worked efficiently. The sandwich was DELICIOUS! I loved it. The smoothies weren't the BEST I have ever had but they were good.

The place was not crowed like El Palacio de los Jugos very clean with a huge selection of Cuban food, fruits and desserts and it was very cheap. I had coquito which is natural shredded coconut with burned sugar it was delicious, the chicken breast is huge with a good taste, but today I tried something I have never had before which I HIGHLY recommend Atole it's a cream of corn Cuban style very sweet and thick you won't regret.

Vaca frita to go. Plated at home.

I really wanted to like this place. Although I will give it another try in the future, it will definitely NOT be for breakfast. I was really craving an old school tostada Cubana con mantequilla...how difficult can it be to get an order of simple Cuban toast with Cafe con Leche wrong? I mean, it's bread and butter! First off, the "Cuban" toast was some other sort of bread. When I asked if they always use that type of bread I was told that is what they are using for now. I wish I would have been made aware. I could've gone to Sedano's across the way. Second, they must've been running out of butter because I had to squint to try and find it on the bread. So disappointing. Their saving grace was the Cafe con Leche. Done to perfection. Like I said before, I will definitely come back for lunch or dinner but there are too many other little Latin spots in this mall for me to recommend this place for breakfast. UPDATE... so I finally went for dinner and it didn't change my rating. It was around 9pm and the selection of food was extremely limited. Ended up getting a complete meal of vaca frita, rice 'n beans, & plantain to go. The flavors were good enough but not out of his world. At eleven dollars and change, I found it a bit pricey. On the plus side, the ladies at the counter were all very nice and, since there was only a handful of people, the service was quick. Like I said in my previous review there are too many other Latin spots to try out in this shopping center before deciding whether or not to come back.

This place is legit Hispanic/Latino food and the fresh juices are the deal!!! Catering menu is very reasonable... I wish I lived closer!

Pan con lechon sandwich with papas de la casa (crispy thin potato fries)

All of the employees were smiling as we walked through the door. We bought 3 pan con lechon sandwiches and jugo de caña all to go. The pork sandwich was juicy and flavorful. Would definitely come back to try more of what they have to offer. It was in the evening, not too busy at the time. Nice clean latin food place.

The restaurant has an upscale yet inviting vibe that's perfect for a fun date night or a special evening out. The food was outstanding. The Cuban sandwich was perfectly pressed with crispy bread, melty Swiss cheese, smoky ham, roasted pork, pickles, and just the right amount of mustard. We also enjoyed classic Cuban favorites like sweet plantains, black beans and rice, and perfectly seasoned grilled meats that were packed with authentic flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive--beautifully presented, refreshing, and expertly crafted. Every bite and every sip made the experience even better. What truly made the night memorable was the exceptional service. The staff was welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely appreciated from start to finish. They checked on us often without ever being intrusive and made sure everything was perfect. If you're looking for authentic Cuban cuisine, incredible cocktails, outstanding service, and a fun, classy atmosphere in Miami, Café La Trova is an absolute must-visit. We had an amazing evening and will definitely be coming back the next time we're in town. Highly recommend!

We started with the goat cheese croquettes, which were delicious! The marmalade went well, and the pickles onions and jalapeños cut the richness and were a nice complement. Regardless when we arrived they sat us outside which is exactly what we were hoping for. Our server was nice at first. Explained all the popular dishes got our drinks out very quickly. I think she stole our table from someone else because shortly after someone came and we told them we put our order in and he seemed a little bothered. Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.

We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban burger, and honestly both were dangerously good. The Cuban sandwich was exactly what you hope for -- crispy bread, perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and just nod at the person across from you like "yep... this was the right decision." The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too. Nice vibe, good energy, and perfect for walking around before or after eating... which you will probably need to do after finishing that burger. The servers were good -- friendly, attentive, and thankfully didn't judge us for attacking the food like we hadn't eaten in three business days. Overall the place has a fun atmosphere, great Cuban comfort food, and the kind of menu that makes you want to come back just to try the things you didn't order the first time. The roasted pork was tender, juicy, and packed with savory garlic-forward flavor. It was comforting, flavorful, and paired really well with the traditional sides. Service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made the dining experience smooth even during a busy time. The vibe is lively and colorful, with a nostalgic Cuban café atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel festive and welcoming.
