So when looking for flooring or carpeting, it's important to see how detailed the owner is. The picky owners who put a lot of effort into their business tend to pick better workers to do the installs for them. I went with Adam (the owner) because he seemed like a very detailed person. The install worked out great - quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Quality work entails detailed work with no seams or carpet bubbles, minimal damage to moldings, etc., and cleanliness. There were some scratches and nicks to the moldings, but this is completely normal and expected (go to Home Depot and get a $3 sample paint to patch scratches up after). Cleanliness is important as well. After the job was done, they did a great job of cleaning up after. Some jobs will need this, others won't. There was someone living in the house so it was important for them to leave a clean house after their work was done. For Americarpet - Keep up the good work. Keep a close watch on your install guys - make sure quality control continues to be top notch and everything else will be smooth sailing. Be careful not to over promise - Adam said he could help me fix my squeaky floors but in reality this is a half day job that really requires extra costs. No way this could have been accomplished. Minor issue though, because I knew once they started that this was an impossible task given the allotted time (1 day installation) that I gave the installers. I would have taken one star off but the great price more than made up for this.

I had huge problems with this company. First, they said in their contract, that they would level…read more"all" my floor. That wasn't done. I didn't realize how unlevel the floor was until they put new baseboards on, and I was left with a ton of gaps. They did not scribe the baseboards and assumed I would be agreeable to a bunch of trim pieces to hide the gaps. Why would I do that when I purchased new baseboards? Now, I'm left with gaps that have to caulked and new baseboards that have to be repainted. If they had taken the time to scribe the baseboards, the leveling issues wouldn't be so obvious. The second huge issue is they didn't clean the glue up as they went. They covered the floor as soon as they were done. Now that the Ramboard is up, I can see TONS of dried glue on the floor that is now solid as a rock. There are actually boot foot prints with glue in my kitchen and many other small spots of glue. It is not clear to me if there is a way to remove this cured glue, which has now been there for two months, without damaging the finish on the new floor. The other issue is that they treated my home with total disrespect when they worked here. We were living upstair during the remodel. They played hard rock music at deafening tones, left empty energy drink cans inside brand new cabinetry for me to find and you would have thought that a herd of five year children ran through the house touching all the walls with dirty hands on my freshly painted walls. Fortunately, my painter had only put the first coat of paint on. There was also several areas where they damaged door casings and moldings with their tools and careless workmanship. In the end, my general contractor asked them not to install wood on my stairs as was planned. I ended up using another company that did a fantastic job but charged me a premium for doing a small job. If you want a high end job with people who care about the quality of their work, I would not recommend this company.
