We just went there for lunch and was with family that are regulars there. It was the worst experience we've ever had. The menu has different prices than what the will actually charge. Once we asked the older women manager, she continued to argue and say that is just how the computer rings it up. She didn't even seem to understand why that was wrong and gave no solution. My husband and our family have come to eat here since the day it opened. The restaurant is always very clean and the service never disappoints. We love the food, especially the ribeye and charro beans! The portions are perfect, which makes for an order of charro beans to take home for later. Best most authentic Mexican food in the area. Though it's a franchise, I can say that the good is consistently good. Refried beans, chorizo, queso & the like. The mixed drinks are amazing. Heck, sometimes I go just for the drinks. Tucked off in a strip mall in Laplace, I easily missed. It was good. I've tried the chicken tinga taco and daily lunch special which both were good. Happy hour drinks were good. Great salsa. I also ordered flauntas to go. It's a hit or miss with the the service. They have a hard time handling big crowds. Got seated quickly, but waited about 10 minutes before being brought chips and salsa. Service was slow and poor. I ordered a burrito with beef and black beans and no rice. What I was served was a burrito with chicken and rice and no beans. Probably the best La Carretas other than Hammond. We had a great lunch here and the restaurant was exceptionally clean. I mean to the point of standing out. Bathroom was great too. Our lunch came out timely and tasted great. My fajitas were on a dry skillet... so much better without all the grease! My wife enjoyed her flautas too. And the drinks hit the spot. Good Tex-Mex place to stop by for a bite. The tacos were good. The stuffed cream cheese jalapeno was cold so wasn't to crazy about that. Service was great. Reasonable prices. Good lunch menu. This neighborhood restaurant has a wonderful outdoor patio which attracted me to the restaurant. It was not busy and we had a minimal wait time for food and drinks. I had a raspberry margarita on the rocks and it literally taste like juice. I ordered the red fish tacos which were extremely bland despite being very pretty. Overall. I have been coming here for years and as of today (1/27/19) the menu shrunk, the prices grew and the quality of the food too a nose dive. ALSO if you have children be prepared to spend some unnecessary money. The kids menu used to be a full meal with drink included, now it's a few cents less than it was and you have to pay full price for an adult drink ($2.59). If you're like me and have multiple children it adds up. There is something wrong when your bill is $15+ for 6 drinks. read more

The queso doesn't come with chips, or at least that day it didn't. I was charged separately for chips and whenever I questioned it, I was told that it was the restaurant policy. However, the guac did come with chips. Also, the steak is dry is the steak tacos. read more
