I was first introduced to Carnitas at Nimfa's in Texas. Never tasted any as good as hers until today. My mind was blown when I bit down into tasty morsels of pork cooked perfectly. This wasn't mediocre food, but AVERAGE AT BEST! They should be truly EMBARASSED that two lunch specials and two beers, cost over $60 with tip! And that in a town that has hookers and drug addicts walking the streets and begging for money at the gas stations. I will never be back, as the VALUE was NOT there. I was treated like a cheapskate (I just paid OVER $30 a person for a lunch menu??? WTF?!) bc I HATE places and people that nickel and dime you to death! I had the lunch steak quesadilla. Base level gets you rice and refried beans. $4 more get you no rice and beans, but a teaspoon of guacamole on lettuce with sc and some tomato. REALLY???? There is abt $.58 worth of ingredients there and EVERY Mexican restaurant I've ever been to includes this "guacamole salad" AND the rice and beans on the same plate! Oh, and forget subbing black beans or charro beans......that is DOLLARS in addition to the base price. This is pathetic I wish the owners would contact me so that I can give them the perspective of someone who has obviously been in business for decades longer than them! Wasn't impressed at all. Our ordered was shrimp tacos and steak quesadillas. Instead of the salad I ordered the tortilla soup. The soup was HORRIBLE. Just broth, tortillas and avocado. No sour cream no cheese and not a bit of flavor. I had the shrimp tacos that was just ok. Of course they had tomatoes on the taco because of course that was not a listed ingredient. Great remodel of the El Paso Grill in LaPlace. Service was fast and friendly on a busy Friday Night. Chicken Quesadilla and Fajitas were delicious. El paso is a good lunch place or if you are looking for a quick place to get a bite in Laplace. I am not a fan of their rice and beans but their chicken tacos and tamales are pretty good. Went to pick up food and the two woman up front by the counter had this weird attitude when all I did was come in to pick up food. They incorrectly pointed me to the wrong area to pick up food and when I went back up front they finally asked me exactly what I was picking up instead of cutting me off when it was upfront the whole time. She then proceeded to hold the food digging in the bag asking me about my order which Im guessing for WHATEVER reason (I know what it is lol) felt like I was lying and must've thought I was some dude off the street. Me & my family has been going there for 4 years , I always order the three trio fajita dish. They always give you plenty of food, that comes with three tortilla shells !! only, that is entirely to much food for only 3 tortilla shells. So I ask them to give me some more tortilla shells, & they cost me 1.75 for 3 more only. I decided to call El Paso Mexican restaurant to very kindly voice my opinion. And the manager was very nasty towards me, she told me that " the 3 tortilla shells is their policy, & that if I wanted more than 3 tortilla shells then I would have to continue to pay the 1.75. The place is massive so big groups are good to go here, and there were multiple birthdays going on. The food is good, but sometimes it takes a long, long time to get it on the table. The wait staff is okay. Biggest complaint of mine is the prices are way too high. It is always freezing cold inside, so take a jacket. I was told that they freeze out their customers to keep people from lingering. They do a fine job on that point. read more

This restaurant is always packed not matter what time I pass by the parking log it always full. I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but happy to go here with my friends who are.
