Shout Out to La Casa Adobe for catering for me last minute ! This past Friday , my work decided to have food ordered for lunch. we really wanted mexican and something close by. I called in the order at 9:30 am to have the food ready by 12:45-1 ish. i felt bad at first because it was such a short notice. but they pulled though ! I had order 20 chicken enchiladas, a tray of rice and a tray of beans. Went there yesterday and ordered a wet burrito carne asada with green sauce. They gave me chips and salsa. The salsa was the worst I've ever tasted. It was oil based with chili flakes in it. Don't know what that stuff was called but not salsa. The burrito was small and had a tangy taste to it. I could only eat half of it. I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. Thought I was going to get sick from the taste. That wasn't Mexican food I had, I don't know what it was. I'll never go there again. read more

Good food. I had Camarones rancheros which were pretty good. My husband had Menudo, it needed more flavor and he wasn't to thrilled about it but the best part were the red enchiladas that my daughter had. Ive driven passed this place so many times, finally remembered to try it and I was not disappointed at all. Its a really cool little hole-in-the wall. Its small but its bigger in the inside than it looks on the outside. It decorated so you really feel like you are in an adobe house. Theres outside seating as well as a bar. The food is great! I had the shrimp fajitas and my lovely fiance had shrimp enchiladas. Everything was so good from the chips and salsa to the fajitas. They have vegetarian and seafood options. The Food is super fresh. As a vegetarian I usually get whole beans becuase most places that make refried beans use lard, the waitress informed they do not use lard in their refried beans. A hole in the wall spot, where you really get your bang for your buck. With heaping portions, my friends and I felt like we needed to be rolled out of there! The food we had was great and the staff was really kind. Seems like a family run spot! I got the supreme burrito and it was MASSIVE and delicious. My friend to the the taco truck tocos with a variety of meats and she said that the carnitas taco was the best one. The ambiance is definitely a hole in the wall type of vibe. IF IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR A NURSE & A UPS GUY, THEN IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME? While a bit pressed for time today, I decided to check out this true Hole-in-the-Wall Mexican place, on the far-outside of the big Mc Henry Village Shopping Center, on Granger. I was a little nervous going in, but I saw a young nurse-type person, complete with a scrub shirt & stethoscope, eating there. She may come in handy, if I had any adverse reactions to the food, or if my heart wanted to do a sneak terrorist attack on me, while I ate. There was a big strong brown UPS guy, who could definitely help do CPR, or a Heimlich, if the nurse needed an assistant. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not have a handy dandy defibrillator, on the wall, near my table. I figured that a Super-Burrito would be a safe bet and I ordered that, from one of the nice ladies working there. It looked to be a true Mom & Pop kind of place, with humble prices to match the humble atmosphere. I proceeded to munch & crunch through the tasty chips & Salsa while I waited. The Super-Burrito arrived wrapped tightly in aluminum foil on my plate. I unwrapped it and proceeded to devour it.... .......ouch OUCHHHHHH!!!!!! .......it was tasty but really hot temperature wise.... .......ouch OUCHHHHHH!!!!!! Nurse! Nurse! Nurse ! I need ice-water STAT! .......OH SHIT! she left already.... ........OK... UPS Guy! UPS Guy! UPS Guy! ........ I need an expedited delivery of ice-water to the roof of my mouth.... Well nobody responded to my silent calls for help, because they were only in my mind, and unfortunately for the burning roof of my mouth, everyone there was Telepathically challenged! As for the Super-Burrito, I did manage to keep eating it despite the pain. It was nice, big, cheap, and tasty. The pork was moderately stringy & chewy. I can tell now, as I write this review, that they had put too much MSG in it, for my sensitive stomach! :( So was it worth it for me? Well, between the MSG stomach ache and the burn on the roof of my mouth, my body and mind votes NO! I am sure, that it would be worth it for some others, since it seemed to me, to be almost equivalent to Taco Truck price & quality. Extremely impressed with the whole experience. Despite there only being one person working table was very clean the inside of the restaurant looks nice. Chips were served warm temperature with salsa and I was served my drink in a chilled glass. The food was ok. Restaurant smelled a bit funny as did the bathroom. Very slow even though no one else was there. Sauces on platters and salsa were a bit tangy and smoky, which some enjoy, but I typically do not. Cute little establishment, but I don't think I will return. read more
