This is a very cute place off the beaten path for n Modesto. The smell of the food is absolutely fantastic! As persuade - in any New Mexican place I had to try 1 of my 2 fav Mexican foods - as I had to take it to go - the obvious choice is a burrito. I went for a carne asada burrito - taking just one bite and I knew it was the right choice. The taste of the beef was superb and it was spiced excellently. Yes, I was in burrito heaven again. Not only was the beef tasty - it was a perfect combination of being a bit firm, yet nice and soft. I loved the taste of the salsa and the beans were perfect. Another nice touch is their chips are home made - not some brand from a store - which I have encountered in too many Mexican restaurants. I've eaten here a lot of times and it is just one of the best. Order the garlic shrimp highly suggest that as a great great appetizer. They dress it up so nicely you'll be amazed that it does not cost at least four times what they charge. I only buy food from here in modesto, if i were in another city, id probably wait to get back to modesto to eat. number 17, 3 taco truck tacos with rice and beans. steak cilantro and onion with a side of jalapeños and salsa . i'm set, 8.62 is my bill, tip given and no left overs. you can eat in peace, rarely crowed so you can find a seat easy, no tv or radio, it's peaceful and the staff is pleasant :). read more

This review is regarding their small, or "taco truck" tacos. I had a meeting in this area, and I was in mood for some tacos. I was on my way to Modesto Taquieria on Mchenry and Standiford who have EXCELLENT $1 tacos on Tuesday. But I saw this place, and I thought I would save the drive and get some tacos from here. The tacos here were pretty bad... I just dont undertand how a mexican restaurant can mess up Taco Truck tacos!! It baffles me... They were very small, the carne asada was terrible, and the the hot sauce tasted like a mix of enchilada sauce mixed with hot sauce. Just not good.. I love this place. The ladies who own/run it are amazing!! We have been coming here for years and i left a tip you can feel free to read about a private party we shut the place down for. They also catered my gmas funeral. Everyone loved it!! It was super affordable a yummy! They r lile family now. Try their taco truck tacos chicken tacos nachos shrimp cocktail everything is terrific. Nothing fancy about this but simple and straight to the point. I would recommend coming before 3pm since that is when there lunch special prices are available. Staff have been very nice and kind. The food deserved a 2 or 3 - carnitas were overlooked, beans were runny... Sope was mediocre. But it was SUPER fast, and SUPER cheap (like... Really really cheap), and their service was fast and very friendly. Oh, and I really liked the salsa, too! The food won't blow you away, but it's passable. Just had breakfast for the first time here. I normally have lunch here (great lunch selections and very good prices.) It was perfect timing. I had the beef machaca and it was beyond my expections. I enjoyed myself here while having lunch. It was quiet (yay!), not too cold or hot, and staffed by a singular but accommodatingly nice waitress. Ordered simple chicken tacos with a side of beans and rice. I was sufficiently satiated and pleased with the taste. Parking was a little tricky ( their lot is around the back to the right side), but I was not entirely familiar with this area. My sister and I where craving authentic Mexican food, and she actually lives down the street from this place and have been wanting to try it out for some time. We finally, went for it and it was all worth wild! When we first entered it was a little hot, but it was ok because they where cleaning and getting ready to prepare to close, which is understandably for a Sunday slow evening. I ordered the quesadilla and could finish it, cause the portions where lovely, I had it for lunch the next day. Based on the outside of the building, the first time I ate here I was skeptical, but it is clean inside. My husband and I dubbed this restaurant "The Orange Place." You will know why when you see the outside of the building. The food has a very authentic Mexican taste-not a commercial flavor at all. We have been here on several occasions and tried an assortment of items which were all good. The pork is succulent. The food is served nice and hot and on pretty pottery dishes. The wait staff, which is family, is very sweet. The service can be a bit slow, but the chips and salsa are the best in town, in my book, to keep you satisfied during the wait. It's bueno! read more

This was my first time here, I heard good things about it but from the min we walked in we didn't get acknowledged, didn't know if it was self seating or what since no one said anything we just sat down. A few min later the waitress came over and said she would bring us menus, Uhh that took another few min she even gave a menu to the guy that came in after us and brought him chips. We then waited several more min so I went up to the counter and asked of we could get some menus. They weren't even that busy. I seriously fell in love with this place! I would always pass by this place until I decided to check it out with my boyfriend and it's amazing. It's very authentic and family owned.
