I been going here for years with my wife. Great food at affordable prices. Last night though pushed me away. It's vday. I know it's busy. But two hrs to get our food was a joke. Waitress said it's coming over and over for an hr but never followed up until we spoke up. Finally we got other waitresses involved. Our original one comes and explain the cook is putting our order in the bottom. Kept skipping it. He kept sending to go orders out. Then others got their food first after they not been waiting long for the food. It was terrible. A manager should of taken charge. On a Tuesday night on vday it was very busy. People wanted to sit but when you have us waiting two hrs you wasting a table. Got to Keep the customers flowing in and out. The food is again awesome. Very very tasty. We had the tostones with guacamole. Tostones were cooked very well and guac was buttery smooth. Arroz con camarones were tender and rice portion was immense. I had churrasco especial, which was steak and shrimp with peppers, onions, fries, rice and beans. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Our waitress spoke enough English to help us without my horrendous attempts at Spanish, with the exception of my wife's drink, but we were able to get that corrected. We will return. read more

Hidden gem for sure omg so happy I read an earlier review and got the fish soup. Hugeeee servings so keep that in mind too. Five of us cane and couldn't finish three dishes. Returning customers were ordering one dish each but I don't know how I could finish. We also got the mixed platter for the undecided which was also awesome. They made the rice so tasty somehow! And last we got the Arroz con pollo. Heavy on the arroz and light on pollo we thought but still so good. As an Ecuadorian American, I am SO disappointed in the food and customer service. I ordered "Paella" and instead received an order of Jalea. On top of being disappointed that they gave me a wrong order, the Jalea was overcooked. I called the restaurant to let them know that they had gave me the wrong order and all they said it was due of the misinterpretation that was the order they gave me wasn't correct. When PAella was clearly said. With no apology, they told me they would make another order and I'd have to pay for it. I personally do not care about the money, it's more of the fact that I was spoken to in a unprofessional matter and no apology was included AT LEAST. I've stumbled across this place by accident and I have been going back ever since. The portions are ridiculously huge and tasty for a fair price. A single meal will be at least 2-3 meals for me. I see people complaining about the decor, but it's just a hole in the wall kind of restaurant, so that doesn't bother me. The only issue that I have, is once the waitress brings the meals to the table, it's impossible to get her attention for seconds on drinks or to get the check. Unbelievably delicious! Ecuadorian food that slayed us! On top of the tasty complimentary stewed pork/corn/salad plate, the seafood platter has some kind of amazing crack sauce, salad with avocados was drowning in lime cilantro tanginess, and my fish soup was so savory and delicious, with big chunks of bone-in fresh fish, cilantro, yucca and plantain. Basically just affirming what everyone else has said: this place is damn delicious! Also, the people are nice and portions are, in fact, huge. Our family of 4 went there tonight and ordered an appetizer and 3 main dishes...and we took home the equivalent of one entire main dish. We are not light eaters. I literally do not remember the last time we took food home from a restaurant. And yet. The tostones and guacamole appetizer was particularly yummy. Came with a gravy boat of guacamole, which can only ever be a good thing. The only improvement I can think of right now would be for them to offer a side or appetizer of plantains. They come with some of the dishes, but we could definitely plow through a lot more. They were cooked just right: not mushy, not greasy, just sweet and lightly caramelized. Ecuadorian food close to home!!! Free hornado appetizer was actually really good! I don't usually like hornado everywhere. I ordered shrimp with plantain sauce which is a spinoff on sango de camaron. My husband ordered their special which is all grilled and had steak, chicken, shrimp, salad and rice. The waitress wasn't attentive but all in all it was great food with great portions. I came here last week for dinner with my SO. It was my first time here but he had been there before a couple times. We were greeted by the waitress who took our orders a couple mins after we sat down. I ordered the shrimp and plantain sauce dish and my SO had the ceviche app. While we were waiting for our food, we received a complimentary appetizer, which was a pernil (pork) dish - it was really good! There was this spicy sauce that accompanied the app, but I didn't like it. Our food arrived and and we both ate happily. My SO really enjoyed his ceviche and my dish was good, except I didn't like the cilantro that was in it. Overall, the price point of this place is great, especially for the food you get, the service is nothing to rave about but it was decent enough and our waitress was polite. I've eaten here a number of times over the past 2 years for both lunch and dinner. The best compliment I can pay is that it is consistently very good. This is an Ecuadorean restaurant with a continental twist owing to the fact that the chef/owner worked at the old Landing Steak House in Piermont. The meal is always started with Hornado, a slow roasted pork shoulder served with Ecuadorean corn and Aji sauce. It is complimentary and delicious. There are a lot of seafood items on the menu as well soups. My favorite dish is the Chulafan. It is rice dish similar to chinese young chow rice but the flavors are more complex. I have never had a dish I did not like. All servings are large and complete with rice, beans, plantains and/or salad. The place generally appears empty due to the large take out service. There are always people at the bar. The sangria is excellent though potent. I prefer it to that served at Union. The music from the juke box can be loud but the waitress will turn it down for you. Dinner for 2 with a drink runs around $40. If you're up for "something different," this place is worth a try. read more

I tried this place today and it was ok. Im Ecuadorian and the food didn't wow me. I did like the appetizer that is on the house. I will probably try them again i dont know i have mixed feelings. I got the Churrasco the fries were cold and the meat was a little on the dry side. My son got the Guatita and it was blend. Food is incredible and the portions are very large for the price. They were so nice when we came in. They had a sign on the door saying they were closed that night for a party.
