There are maybe a handful of options available, and you end up walking into what looks like a mix between a pub and a diner, with some colorful booths lining the wall and an extensive, colorful menu to match. It has daily specials and combos and everything from burritos to enchiladas to tacos, meats of your choice. The portions are huge. The service is attentive as the place isn't super big. You end up paying around $10-15 a person for a meal that could easily count as lunch and dinner combined. You're satisfied. Is it the best tasting food you've ever had? Probably not. But it's good. The owner is the rudest person you will ever encounter. If you do go, and your order has a roach in it.... I'd you complain she will yell and scream in your face and banned you from ever coming back! For Tex-mex, this is my favorite in Grove! They advertise hot salsa, and it really is pretty spicy! I love that it's actually got some heat. My food came out super fast and piping hot and fresh. The chips and salsa are best in town. My server was quick and efficient. It's pretty small inside, but I had a nice little corner table to myself. I'll definitely be back to try more. We are in town and did a search for Mexican and this one came up with the best rating. Called in an order. They said 15-20 mins. I drive down and they had it ready. The cashier showed me the items to verify the order which was awesome. Ordered beef fajitas for 1 and 3 hard shelled shredded beef tacos. The came with rice and beans. The fajitas also had cheese, quac, pico, sour cream. I ordered a side of the hot salsa which was excellent. Hot but excellent. There was plenty of beef. I had 4 and still had enough for 3 more at least. The beef was flavored and cooked well. Cut nice and thin so it was easy to eat. The tacos were on large shells with plenty of beef as well and some tomato slices More than enough to eat. I walked in and was greeted promptly. Told them my name and another lady is the one tht verified and took my money. Very satisfied. The beans had a nice hint of cumin. It has been a few years since we had visited our favorite Mexican restaurant in Grove, La Casita de Martin. Well, the name has changed...It is now just "La Casita" I asked about the change and the waitress said that the owner had leased the business. It was now being operated by another restaurateur. It has always been the best in Mexican restaurant in Grove. I am sure that it still is. The menu looks like nothing has changed other than the prices. (Current menu is posted with this review date) We went for the "UNO." Consistently our favorite meal. One shredded beef and one chili verde enchilada with rice and beans. Of the two the pork chili verde was the prominent winner. The tender, tasty chunks of pork were fantastic. It has been so long since we have dined here I cannot honesty say I remember what the salsas and sauces tasted like. I know we remembered them as delicious. It could be my imagination, but they seemed a little different, as prepared by the new operators. A slight change in the seasoning was detected (or imagined). Still very good though. So I want to start with a small negative to get it out of the way. We walk in, tell them how many are in our party and that one is in a wheelchair. For whatever reason the lady acted like that was a huge inconvenience. So our first impression wasn't great. Luckily our actual waitress was very sweet and had a positive personality. And extra points because her name was Maggie! I was happy with the amount of options there were on the menu, and was even happier when I saw some chile verde options. Of course I got one of them, and ended up going for the basic chile verde (as in the meat on its own served with tortillas, and not a verde burrito or something). Since I've had a lot of chile verde at tons of different places, I think it's become a good dish for me to compare with. This was definitely different than any I've had before. Mainly in the sense that the sauce was more of an orange color than a green color. Definitely unexpected. It did taste good though (and still tasted Ain the realm of chile verde even though it wasn't "verde"). It had a nice tartness to it. I also liked the rice and beans, but as usual they weren't anything out of the ordinary. Their spicy salsa was good too! read more

I ordered the combo fajitas (chicken, steak and shrimp) which was seasoned soooooo well. It was absolutely yummy. I normally don't like the shrimp or steak because it's blah but I ate it all! They do charge extra for a lot of little things.. example cheese, sour cream or if you want more than 3 tortillas. They wait staff were not all wearing mask per their sign at the door. That was interesting considering we have to wear them. But to each their own. They were kind of rude and took forever to get our check and then another 12 minutes after they took our money to give our cards back. Overall, the food was delicious and I would highly recommend. My family absolutely loves La Casita De Martin. Every time we eat here the food and service are both excellent. My in laws live in Grove (I live in Oklahoma City) and we come to town at least every other weekend, and a trip to Grove isn't complete for us until we've eaten here at least once! I consider myself a Tex-Mex connoisseur, and this is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. We ate here for the first time when I was pregnant with my son, and we have loved it ever since. They have the best fajitas, and I love their queso and their salsa is absolute fire! The prices are also very fair and you get a lot of food for the money. Great tasing fresh Mexican food. The chicken is the Chimichanga was delicious. The quacamole was fresh and tasted good. The young lady who was our server was quick to wait on our every need. My wife had the beef enchiladas and said it was great too. We eat a lot of Mexican food so we would know what Mexican food is good or not. I travel extensively for work and the experience here was superb. Btw, the AC wasn't blowing on my food . I detest that. The temperature in the restaurant was comfortable not cold. The hostess was not friendly at all and tried to talk us out of waiting for a table. She was an unaccommodating, mad at the world type‍. We split our party of five into 3 and 2 and had no trouble. We dined this afternoon at La Casita. While it wasn't a rush period there were many dirty tables and one had to be cleaned for us to sit down. After waiting for a table, things went more smoothly. We received chips, salsa and our drink orders. The chips were light, crispy and warm, the chip trifecta. The salsa had a good quality of cilantro and an oregano after taste. While that was different it wasn't unpleasant, just different. Both parties chose quesadilla, one chicken and one shrimp. Both were pretty good but the shrimp was amazing. Shrimp is cooked with pico while chicken is not and the shrimp came with an orange garnish while the chicken did not. The rice was good and the rectors beans were just ok. The food here is good if you are careful about what you order. Most of the food is FAR from authentic mexican. The chicken or shrimp asada (grilled) tacos and burritos are hands down the best thing on the menu and the most authentic. I have been to Mexico numerous times and I have never seen a ground beef taco on a stale hard shell that came off the shelf of a grocery store. In fact I'm not sure that the Midwest and authentic mexican food can be properly used together in the same sentence. What is the deal with Midwesterners and this strange concoction called queso dip??? Anything you need to pour that nasty cheese sauce all over is not worth eating! Just saying... This is our family's favorite Mexican restaurant around Grand Lake. We used to go to another Mexican place on Monkey Island, much closer to home, but their drinks are consistently bad with slow service, so we make the extra 20 minute drive to La Casita when we want Mexican! The Patron Margarita is my favorite drink. It's strong, tastes well-blended, and is served in a large glass without asking (like the water and soft drinks size!). The Bella entree is my favorite food. I saw an earlier post and picture of this dish with a bad review and was sad to see that because I've always had a great experience with it! The dish is grilled chicken pieces and veggies on top of rice and a lot of queso. It's also a large portion, so I usually take some home. Their staff is friendly and straight forward as well. The last time I was there, I ordered the Bella dish as usual, and the waiter told me the queso was a little overcooked that day, so the Bella dish would have a smokey flavor to it. He even gave me a sample to try first, and then I ordered it because it was truly smokey, not burned tasting as I feared, but I appreciated that heads up! I'm not sure why they couldn't just make more queso, but at least they were honest! Parking is available on the street in front of La Casita as well as in a parking lot behind it. It can get crowded around prime dining hours, sometimes with a 45 minute wait during summer nights, so try to go during non-peak hours to enjoy it more! read more

Read all the rave reviews. Confused. Maybe if I had gotten anything else, I would be in agreement. I ordered the "Bella Special" for lunch, described as "rice and queso with grilled beef and vegetables". The "grilled vegetables" were from a frozen bag of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. The grilled beef was thin and lukewarm and dry and extremely salty. The rice was dry and crumbly. I got the queso on the side and was glad, because it was a thin, tasteless, velvet a soup with a skin on it.
