I don't know how I haven't know about this place. I love getting take out and enjoying empanadas and either a boricua bowl or a wrap at the beach. I have brought friends to dine in and the ambiance is very relaxing and service is always great. The dalgona coffee is super yummy and I love trying different deserts whenever I am in. I never have had something I didn't enjoy. My stand out is boricua bowl as well as the cheeseburger empenadas. The dipping sauces really elevate them. read more

As an omnivore, I can confidently say that some of the best, most filling, vibrant vegan Caribbean food I've had in my life was made with love at La Chia Vegana. As if Bad Bunny and reggaeton weren't already my happy place, when the steaming canoa de plátano maduro was placed in front of me, I went from happy place straight to food heaven. The plantain was soft and sweet and filled with "meat" that was juicy and spiced so well, and topped with pico de gallo and creamy sauce. The canoa alone was bursting with so many different flavors that worked so well together, but even the quinoa and beans were a nice juxtaposition to the other flavors. Even the salad with pickled onions was a bright highlight of the dish. I honestly wouldn't change anything. If this is what vegan food was like all of the time, I would reconsider my food choices. But then we get to the arepa de choclo which was soft with a light crust, so full of corn flavor, and filled with the gooiest most delightful cheese that was the savory balance that the sweet corn needed. The iced coffee was the perfect ending to this meal, and in addition to being strong (like I like it), it had a light cinnamon flavor. Visit this amazing Lake Worth restaurant ASAP! First, do not go if you're very hungry or have time constraints. The food is extremely slow coming out. From the time we walked in, then ordered, to get even the cold items, was 35 minutes. There was only one other table in the restaurant. Second, wear a face mask and eye covering maybe noise canceling headphones. The smell of burning oil, and grease, permeates the space and is very difficult to breathe and your eyes start burning after a while. The music is loud! Really loud! Eyes burning, unpleasant smells, food takes forever, music so loud. Not good. They could have rolled up the back gate to let air in, and let the volume go out, but we sat there, and didn't even realize they could've opened that gate until we were leaving. When our food finally came out, the hot food came out before the appetizers, we couldn't understand why, everything seems out of order. The guy serving was confused and dazed, didn't seem to care much about logistics. I ordered an empanada, as an appetizer, it came out last, 45 minutes later. The food quality was all over the place. The empanada was delicious, the mushroom ceviche was delicious, the plantain boat was good but the plantain needed to be cooked more, it was kind of hard in the middle. The worst item was the sandwich. It ended up making my daughter nauseous, it tasted off. The filling, limited as it was, tasted like it was spoiled. There was a lot of lettuce on the sandwich, more lettuce than filling, and I feel like it might have been to hide that the filling had gone bad, was old or they scraped the bottom of the barrel for it. Not good. Parking around there is confusing. You can't park out front and the back streets all have signs for the customers to park except this restaurant. Luckily the tire shop guy said we could park in the side and we did, fingers crossed we didn't get towed. We would not go back. When we left, the smell of the grease had gotten on our clothes. We were spraying cologne and air freshener in the car because we had a long drive. I would not recommend this place, so sad since so few vegan options in the area. It's a really cute place, but the food is questionable. If you go, ask to sit outside, it was closed when we went but maybe they'll roll up the gate. Take snacks to wait, be prepared to wait a long time. read more

This was the perfect post run breakfast spot! I needed a local comfort breakfast and lunch vegan spot ---- this is now it!! Customer service: 5 service! The owner was attentive to us and our needs. She took our orders right away and it was such an inviting atmosphere. We had some water while we waited - music was perfect they also had a kiddie corner if you need that. Everyone walking had a smile and such good energy. She was a bit busy between walk ins, mobile orders and phone orders but everyone was handled very quickly. Cleanness: it felt like walking into a home! It was clean, spacious and the plants were thriving. All the surfaces were clean and wiped down - you can really tell someone cleans up on a regular (Dailey) bases. No cobwebs were found. There was some clutter of supplies not put away- but it was tucked in the back. Parking: not the best but also not the worst! Downtown anywhere is always tight - I double checked with the owner and she confirmed what was safe vs not! Food: Chefs kiss From the flavors, portion and visual presentation!!! This is definitely FRESH and not FAST food joint. While we waited for fresh juices, we had some room temperature water from the mason jar. Food arrived at the same time as our food. Hot sauce was perfect - I had the West Indian version! Would have loved more onions on my salad but I know now to ask for more next time! My wife and I discovered this neighborhood gem today. My wife is on a vegan diet, specifically the Daniel fast, so we were in search of a place where we could find a wide selection of vegan options. We explored the menu on Yelp and what attracted us was the Latino vibe described for the cuisine. We were amazed at how delicious the food was. Jennifer, the owner and chef, was extremely serviceable and explained the ingredients in the food. I'm not into vegan diet, but this restaurant gave me the encouragement to try these options. This is by far THE best vegan restaurant in Palm Beach County. Darbster is also a great choice, but what I like about this restaurant is that it's like eating regular food. You wouldn't even know it's vegan, except that you feel so much better after a meal. We took our in-laws who are meat eaters and a bit resistant to alternate lifestyles, and they said it was delicious. La Chia Vegana won them over! We were in the area and thanks to prior reviews, discovered this gem of a place. The food was amazing as was the whole vibe. We started sharing with something that tasted like meat, cheese and onion in an empanada that was all vegan. Yummy! Then another patron offered to let us taste her ("mac and cheese") she hadn't tasted it yet) and it too was great. We then shared a bean and veggie burrito with plantain chips. Very good! I'm glad we found this vegan gem! It's easy to miss it driving by. We parked in the back and walked around the building to the restaurant's entrance. The vibe was relaxed and peaceful on a Saturday afternoon. There are a few seating areas indoors, and when the weather permits, a patio out back, which I didn't visit. We were told that it is only in use during the cooler months. I was offered a sample of a menu item to help my decision (so kind!). Instead, I ordered the stuffed plantain and my partner ordered an empanada (and after finishing the first, another). Both items were tasty. My dish was beautiful, thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. The owner was away that day and a friend was substituting for her, which might explain why the two orders were not served simultaneously and the second empanada forgotten. However, this had no impact on the pleasure of our visit. I'm looking forward to returning and sampling additional menu items. I've been meaning to stop in the new(ish) brick & mortar when I'm in town and I'm so glad I finally did! I came for lunch with my little mini today and the owner was so hospitable & friendly. She had a little children's play area in the corner to keep the littles occupied as you enjoy the delicious food. And boy, is it delicious!! I had tried some of the goodies while I was at the Lake Worth Dia De Los Muertos Festival a while back (as you'll see in the photos) and everything was so good. Today I tried the Loaded Arepa on suggestion and it did not disappoint! When she asked if i wanted it for here or to-go, I said I wanted it for here (for presentation) and that I'd probably need a to-go box on the side but I ate it all! Such a great lunch. I forgot to snap a photo of the iced coffee I ordered to wash it all down so I snapped one in the car. The coffee was amazing too, made fresh to order! I have ordered the loaded arepas numerous times on doordash and it's very good. I can call and ask what's available gluten-free and they're super flexible. The banana bread with chocolate chips is gluten free and very good. The whipped coffee is yum yum. I have to try more items. read more

This is such a cute place. I love that it is a woman owned business. The food tasted amazing and very comparable to meat. I just started becoming vegan a few months ago so I still have those cravings ocassionally and this definitely hit the spot. The atmosphere is very chill with plants around the restaurant. I especially love the wooden tables and plant wall. I think the one thing that could be improved are the care of the plants. Majority of them were drooping and the water needed to be changed. The lady was very friendly and helpful. I ended up settling for the Buffalo chicken empanada. As she was preparing my order she told me that everything was vegan. I enjoyed my loaded nachos but I couldn't help wishing that they came with a vegan "meat" crumble on top. Unfortunately, something was up with the toaster so didn't get melty cheese. My dad got the meatless ball sub, he is not vegan but liked it anyway. I also tried it and it was good though I would have preferred a little more sauce.
