Such a vibe. This place has all the (good) ratchet vibes. The outside bartender is so generous with the alcohol. A drink out there is enough for the night. Restroom lines aren't too long and they're decently cleaned. I like the option you have to go outside for fresh air. They have different music out there so you can dance as well or sit down. they also have food available for purchase in the patio. There is a food truck at the entrance. Don't forget to bring cash for the cover! Pretty spacious overall, but the inside bar area can get a bit crowded since it's a walkway as well.

Ambiance is dark, playful, and fun. Service was fast and very good. Bartenders were so sweet and made the best drinks. I got a spicy margarita and they did not disappoint. A fun place to go on the weekend or even the weekday! If you love Spanish music this is a must & hidden gem in DTLA.

Love a spot like this! Older than you and full of guys you want to talk to. Sat in the back and the bartender was fabulous, he lived all our spots and endorsed them. We were headed to the prince and HMS Bounty, he was jealous, it makes you know the day will be fabulous. Great looks to this place, see pics.

I'm not going to lie, I wasn't sure about La Cita vibe but we wanted a real drink so we gave it a shot, but Quinn literally made our entire downtown LA experience. We were ready to leave the entire city but then Quinn had us completely change our itinerary and we stayed at La Cita the entire night and had the best night of our lives. His welcoming energy and warm presence legit made the LA trip unforgettable. We will never forget it! This place gets infinite stars just because Quinn! Also Antonio was amazing as well! Thank you so much!

Ask the Community - La Cita

Is this place 18+ or 21+?

    21+ only

What is the music like on a Thursday night ? Does it get busy too?

Please refer to our Instagram profile stories and posts for entertainment programing. Thanks!

    Is it 18+?

    Never.

What's the dress code? Casual? Or club attire?

Casual. It also depends upon when you are going. During the day, it could be laborers or street food vendors in cowboy hats. The evenings are younger and more trendy, but still casual. They have a dance floor, but this is not a nightclub.

    When is Banda night?

Unfortunately, we do not have a traditional Banda night at the moment, however we have a monthly Norteña night featuring live performances. This usually occurs on the third Friday of the month. We also have a traditional Ranchero band every Sunday…

    Do they offer table service?

    We do not.

    Do you offer coat check?

    Sorry, we do not.

I am trying to find a bar/club to celebrate my bday next month, how is this place ? Me and my friends love to dance!

PRETTY FUN LOCATION. IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHAT ATMOSPHERE YOU WANT. THIS IS VERY DIVE VIBE AND DANCE FRIENDLY. BUT LOOK UP OR CALL THEM AS THEY HAVE DIFFERENT BANDS AND DJS DAILY TO MAKE SURE IT IS THE VIBE YOU SEEK

Is there an email or phone number we can call to ask about lost items?

Hi Ismael. Our management team is active with Instagram. Please reach out to them on that platform. @lacitabar Thanks!

    Do they accept Apple Pay?

    Yes.

Is there a time restriction for people under 21?

    We are 21+ only

Can you show a negative COVID test to get in?

No. You must have physical proof of vaccination.

Are they still requiring proof of vaccination?

    yes they are

Can I get in with a passport if I don't have my California ID?

    Yes

    Do they check for vaccinations?

    yes they do

    Do you guys accept 18+?

No. Our license to do business in Los Angeles requires all guests be twenty-one years of age or older to be allowed entry to our venue.

Do they still have Bingo night? If so, when is it and how much is a card?

We have bingo on every Saturday at 5pm with the amazing Chris Wonder! Cards are free!!

Do you need vaccination card to enter?

    Yes.

    Can you wear hats?

    Yes

Do you have a guest list to avoid the long lines?

No guest list, just favoritism. 💰🤑

Sneakers r okay! Collard shirt i was told when i called but i dont see everyone wearing one lol. Main floor is hiphop edm old school a little spanish top40!. Basement is spanish, merengue banda bachata salsa reggaeton etc etc. Top is edm house electronic. The music overall is really good! Sometimes they slack, esp on fridays!! They open up the floors one by one for w/e foolish reason lol. I hateeee that. It gets really hot in there and a little too crowded on saturdays. Fridays much more open space, and i love that!. The crowd be dancing. Its a decent vibe. People are a lil to themselves and their circle (typical LA)at times but not too bad. Stay clear of security and bottle service girls, or anyone actually, ppl will push tf out of you... i just stop dancing when whoever starts walking towards me and stare at them . The crowd is pretty consistent.. the girl to boy ratio is decent. A lot of people b walking around and its so annoying. Theres a time and place bro. MORE DANCING AND LESS WALKING PLEASE. theres lines to go to another floor which is annoying af. Those lines take up mad space on the middle main floor. I Didnt drink. Fridays and saturdays are really have two different vibes.. Theres a few seats around but dont count on it. Unless u buy a table of course. This club picks up fast by the way! Call them for questions and check their website. They check ID. Pretty sure you have to be 21. their website says there is parking behind the building but idk. Parking places around are $15. 15 mins waiting on line usually if u dont come late. Cash or credit good here. This is lowkey my spot lol. Been here several times since i found this place may 2022. I love the music here. WHEN THEYRE NOT SLACKING AND WALKING AWAY FROM DJ'n & talking to friends bs'n. AND WHEN THEYRE ACTUALLY ENGAGED WITH THE CROWD, making ppl move they body. Ayo thanks for playing the weeknd blinding lights ... XOTWOD! the main floor music is better on saturday. The top floor music is better on friday lol. Consistently. The basement is always lit. Again, things could b hit or miss but nonetheless, this spot, club mayan, arena ktown, doesnt fail me and they all a different vibe. Wonder what will be next haha

We were honestly falling asleep waiting for the actual entertainment to begin. The entire night felt chaotic from the moment we arrived. You spend time getting dressed up, planning a date night, driving downtown, and trying to be excited for the experience, only to park in a dark lot with feces and urine in the stairway. It was scary and disgusting. We looked past the parking lot situation because we were excited to enjoy our night out, but unfortunately the experience only got worse from there. The waitress kept pushing us to order more items, which made the whole night feel like a money grab. The food was absolutely embarrassing and nothing like what was advertised in the gallery photos on the website. It honestly felt like it came straight from Costco. Other reviews mentioned food being served on paper plates, and we can confirm that we experienced that too. The slice of pizza was literally Costco pizza. The pizza and snacks were cheap, low-quality, and nowhere near what you would expect for the price. It really makes you wonder how many people feel misled by that kind of advertising. There was also a complete lack of control and management. People who did not pay for reserved seating were hovering nearby, ready to take your seat the second you got up to use the restroom or go to the dance floor. We saw multiple people weasel their way into reserved lounge and table areas on the ground floor. At one point, a couple was even going through someone's fur coat and looked close to taking belongings before the actual couple returned. That alone says a lot about the environment and lack of security. The billing situation made it even worse. The waitress quickly skipped through the itemized receipt, which made it easy to miss that a 20% tip had already been included. We ended up tipping on top of the included gratuity and only realized it afterward. At that point, we felt completely scammed. We spent over $300, and the overall experience and management were absolutely not worth it. To be fair, some of the acts were great and the band was great. Separate from that, everything else was as mentioned. Between the deceptive billing, weak drinks that barely seemed to have alcohol, the delayed start, boring dance lessons, embarrassing food, poor seating control, and lack of management, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I definitely do not recommend reserving seats, drinking at this event, or buying their food. Eat dinner beforehand and do not worry about arriving on time, because the show does not really start until around 10:30 anyway. We left feeling scammed.
