Really not sure why this is 3 stars. I loved the vibe, people, employees, and atmosphere. It's a fun spot in the heart of LA with loads of shops and food/ drink spots. Couldn't ask for better. I saw DJ Rebekah and Godtripper some weeks back and the entire night was perfect. Got a vip table and danced on the floor, and the music was pumped through every inch of the building And THE BEST THING was that I lost my phone, someone turned it in, and the manager & security helped me get it back. Came for a house music event. Stood in line for 50 minutes only to move less than 30 feet. Venue opened at 10pm and I joined the line at 10:10pm, just ten minutes after opening. Not worth the time and effort to financially support incompetence. For a business that operates in the entertainment and hospitality industry, this lesson in futility was neither entertaining nor hospitable. Take your money elsewhere read more

Out of the four Insomniac club in LA/OC this is our second favorite one to go. We never had a problem with security and staff. It's always been a good vibe every time we come here. Out of the four club, Exchange LA has the biggest dance floor and my only complaint is that place gets so hot. The air circulation isn't the best especially on the dance floor. All and all, it's still one of the best places to catch you favorite EDM artist. read more

Good venue you'll wish you knew in the thick of Downtown Los Angeles. Disco. Bingo. Raves. Art Shows. Club Nights. And drinks that excite. Exchange LA knows how to do it up, right! This mega space, formerly LA Stock Exchange, holds a variety of event throughout the year. It's LA Metro (Pershing Square, 7th & Metro Stations) convenient as well as near many lots and garages (vary in the $7 to $30 range depending on the day as prices are subject to change during major event weekends in DTLA), also valet. I've seen some great performers here, incredible art and attended some fun night out. Very curious about their Bingo Loco events - a 3-hr long interactive stage show with raging raffles, lip sync battles, dance-offs, top tier prizes and more! An Air-fryer? Yes, please! Events vary as do times but late afternoons until late night seem to be Exchange LA's signature hours. It can be a little expensive for drinks, but very fun overall. It's multi-leveled and depending on the theme, you can find vendors in every corner and on every floor (four in total). Enjoy the photo booths and red carpet that are often available for use, fun videos and keepsakes. They have amazing acoustic, sound and lights for a full sensory experience from start to finish. Note: Restrooms aren't in the most convenient location and only on certain floors, but very well kept up. We paid to park in the neighboring lots. Walking in was quick. They scanned our tickets and did a quick search. When you walk in the restrooms are straight down to the left. You can either enter the dance floor through the stairs to your right after you enter or the stairs near the restroom. There are 2 levels that you can watch the stage from. You can get drinks from the different bars that they have in the venue. They have restroom attendants and the one in the restroom was really nice. They also have all around the venue. The security I came across were also very nice always checking to make sure people were ok as well as shine their flashlights on the stairs for you. read more

This review is for Bingo Loco!! If you don't know what Bino Loco is I suggest you google it, if you're age 35 and up , this place is for you!! So much fun! It's Bingo with cool music, DJ , hilarious games, and giveaways. Drinks are pricey but they are pretty well made. This building is so very nostalgic as I remember partying here in my 20's. read more

Super happy that the ceiling has been renovated-- the space is nice to hold a fun EDM event in. Security is plentiful, tickets are scanned quick, and lines go by at a great pace the last few times I've come here. At first, after entering, you would think the hallway to go straight is to the venue-- it's actually the restrooms. You need to turn right and go up a staircase to reach the second floor and get to the dancefloor. From there, the bar is at the left, straight is a room to relax and sit at (with very good sound speakers too), and the right room is the spacious dance floor. There are also staircases to go up to the balcony and another separate bar. Sound quality is insanely good from all areas and the views are varied. (From top, views are nice as you can view crowd and DJ; From bottom, it's good if you are more towards center as being in the back limits the view due to ceiling height and pillars) - coat check is $5 each item - parking lots down the street are what we usually go to, with varied pricing (sometimes $12, 15) - wonderful venue to hold events in! read more

Bingo Loco was held at Exchange LA. I can't speak for everyone but I had a great time. The venue was large, bathrooms were clean. I don't recall seeing food, only drinks present at the event. It was 2hours of entertainment accompanied with a dj, host, and prizes. From pink guitars, to clear dildos, big plushie, to the grand finale trip to Vegas. I don't feel someone who is an avid bingo player is necessarily going to enjoy the prizes but would still likely have a great time. Needless to say, girls night was a ton of fun! read more

This review is for bottle service only. First time at Exchange LA and decided to get a table with bottle service for my birthday. Shoutout to Nick and Andrew for making the reservation process super smooth! The Mezzanine tables are located on the second floor, balcony area. The bottle service operate on a minimum spend rate depending on the table. The pricing breakdown was very clear and communicated ahead of time. It is slightly tight with everyone sitting down, but it was perfect for our party of mostly girls! There's also a normal bar/bartenders on the second floor, and hardly any lines for the ladies restroom. I thought we had the best view facing the stage and seeing all the stage lights! This place has mixed reviews, but honestly it's one of the best nightclubs in LA, here's why: PROS - great sound system - quality events and DJs booked - comfortable atmosphere, it can get crowded, but there's plenty of room to move around - well ventilated - nice architecture with a two story vibe (2nd floor is VIP tables) - stage access is a cool experience - kind and friendly staff CONS - shady area in downtown LA - parking can feel tricky - lots of vaping / cannabis smells (though this happens around all LA nightclubs) I've been to this venue a few times and the pros have been consistent for the most part and as for the cons, just be mindful that you're in Downtown LA (most downtown parts of cities are shady) and try to go with friends or stay in the well lit areas as well as lock in parking which there are plenty nearby (ranging $10- $25 on the lower end, but can get higher if you're getting Valet) and you'll be fine. read more

As far as clubs in LA go this is my least favorite. So this is another club that is really more like a music venue to me. They have big name DJ's come here which always attracts huge crowds. The earlier you get in line the faster it is to get in. The main act probably won't come on till midnight and will DJ for a few hours. My big problem with this club is the layout I just don't like it. I don't know if it's because there are no crazy visuals everywhere like at Academy or if to me it just seems like one big, huge room that they overcrowded but it's just not my favorite venue to come see a DJ. Most of the time if an artist comes here, it's an Insomniac artist since they own the club so they will most likely be at the next big festival or worst case be at Academy which for me I don't mind going to. read more

Interesting venue, its big (2 floors) but also small as the dance floor part is only on the 2nd floor. Has 2 bars, one inside and outside where it doesn't get too crowded. The 360 stage is interesting where you can go around the performers, but it requires some performers skill as its kind of hard to perform on a 360 angle (vs front back). But it was easier to get to the front! The tables are on a balcony so Id say worth it as less crowded, but the view can differ. Bathrooms were okay. The only thing was the security is a bit pushy inside to put everyone in the hallway, even if you stuck to the wall. Ubered there which was okay, kind of downtown vibes so can be a bit hard to hop on/off. read more

Honestly, first and last time coming here! Bald guy whom is Hispanic about 5'6 about 40 year old security guy. Who was working around 12am around the restroom. Was one of the most homophobic and unprofessional person I ever encounter in my life. The fact that my friend and I was playing around and having fun. It bothered him and decided to approach me in the most aggressive way. Pulled my shirt and then decided to become verbally aggressive. Second, he also threaten to kick us out for no reason. Exchange LA is a very cool venue. It's an old bank and they've done a good job of preserving it. I've been to Exchange for multiple artists like Illenium, Kaskade and Deadmau5 and more. The vibes are simply great. Sound system is pretty decent because it's a small space. Despite it being a smaller venue, they don't overpack it unlike Academy or Sound. I hope they keep it this way! I had VIP tickets to attend Exchange LA on Halloween and was extremely disappointed by the way we were treated. Costumes were encouraged for the event, and my boyfriend and I showed up in themed outfits -- only to be denied entry because he was wearing a mask. We completely understood that security needed to verify our IDs and even offered to remove the mask for the ID check. However, we were told masks were not allowed at all and that he wouldn't even be permitted to put it back on once inside. What made this especially frustrating was that the security staff and even performers inside the venue were wearing masks, and the event was advertised with the exact same costume we had on. The general manager came out, apologized, and told us to come back the following night, promising to personally let us in. We returned as instructed -- only for him to deny us entry again. This experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a fun birthday celebration. We spent time and money on tickets, travel, and costumes, only to be misled and turned away twice. I expected far better communication and professionalism from a venue like Exchange LA. I won't be returning and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone planning a special occasion. read more

Love the extremely high ceiling and that they put Joyryde in the middle for a 360 set! I've been here before the ceiling had its issue so it's been a while. But I do like the layout upstairs. Came for Illenium night 1 and it was awesome! We were celebrating a friends birthday and had a table upstairs. It was nice since it had its own line, and bathroom upstairs separate from everyone else. The facility was nice and close enough for all attendees to see him close enough. The table it self was smaller than expected for the amount of people we requested. The ventilation wasn't bad, better than other venues in LA that's I've been to. read more

The location is interesting. It's in an old LA Stock Exchange building. Lots of marble everywhere. Nice marble staircase. Some notes - - Floor gets packed quick. You won't really have room to dance comfortably after 12 am. - You may lose your phone signal in here. - There is a coat check for $5, cash only. - Felt security was pretty strict and thorough. They will pat you down. - Parking: Our group picked a nearby 3rd party parking lot and paid $12. Area is a little questionable so just be cautious at night, I wouldn't want to walk alone there but I am a girl. My qualms with the floor plan design: - When there's lines for the bathroom, it gets quite cramped toward the entrance. The men's and women's are very close to each other and separated by a small skinny walkway. - On the main floor, the bars are stationed all along the left and right so these sides there would be tons of people walking though you, so bumping into someone every 5 seconds is basically an inevitability. They could have done a little better with the floor plan. My rankings: After going to Exchange, Academy, and Avalon - I'd rank #1 Academy (I love their lighting), #2 Avalon, then #3 Exchange, last. FAVORITE LA Club ! Then again, there's not much LA clubs to compete with ~.~ The music genre majority caters to EDM DJs. I don't think I ever came when it's not EDM, heck I don't even know if they cater to other genres. You can check on the event calendar to see whose playing a month in advance. There's 3 floors: -1st floor - right by the entrance. Smaller dj plays in a closed door room. The room itself has some seats by the wall, perfect to chill. There's a smoking area right outside as well, pretty big open patio. Also on the this floor is the time out room (basically the room if you're too F up, it's the place for you to sober up before you can head back inside the club. You can only get into this room if a bouncer deems you unfit or you're trying to take care of your messed up friend. There's also a water dispenser to help you sober up ~ -2nd floor - biggest club dance floor you'll find in LA. 2 bars on both side of the stage and 1 in the back out the dance floor ~ -3rd floor - VIP/Tables ~ read more

I went to exchange La last night and decided to valet my car thinking it would be safe, and when I got home I noticed a designer bag I picked up from the store was missing from my trunk. This review goes out to the valet service they use, please be careful leaving your car since they have workers that will go through your trunk. I've contacted the valet company and have written a police report to back it up. I'm not even sure how the company will help resolve this but I'm so upset and need answers for sure. read more

Saw Nurko there a few weeks ago; the production was above and beyond for the price I paid and I loved the large screen that allowed me to see the visuals perfectly fine even though I was waaaay in the back. The bartender was nice and got my midori sour out quickly as well. It was a pretty unique venue/club and I did the red carpet thing that I was going on. However, what kind of killed the experience for me was the bass. For whatever reason it was cranked up really high and my friends and I were talking about it after and agreed that it kinda hurt our ears and ruined the experience. It got to the point where it was kind of hard to hear the songs and made everything a little muffled. read more

Exchange LA was by far the worst nightclub experience I've ever had. The staff and security were incredibly rude, inflexible, and failed to communicate. As I went through security, two female guards removed Advil and candy from my small bag without saying a word and threw it away. I've attended countless events and have never had anyone take personal items out of my bag without at least informing me first. When I mentioned I would have simply taken them back to my car, both guards immediately got in my face, raising their hands and cutting me off, telling me it was "too late" and to leave. Their dismissive and aggressive behavior was completely uncalled for. Then I was told my boyfriend had been sent outside, with no explanation. When I asked what was going on, they said I could go wait outside with him instead of addressing my concerns. I later found out they banned my boyfriend from the venue because he had gum in his mouth, claiming it was "contraband." That's beyond absurd. This isn't some historic landmark where gum is prohibited. It was an over-the-top, unnecessary reaction. The entire situation was handled with hostility and a complete lack of communication. The security team seemed more interested in exerting power than providing a safe and welcoming experience for guests. Exchange LA's policies are inconsistent, their enforcement is irrational, and their staff clearly lack customer service skills. I will never return to this venue, and I strongly advise others to avoid it as well. There are plenty of other clubs in LA that treat their guests with basic respect. Exchange LA is not one of them. I was there for the JoyRyde event. Smooth entry/security check, good bar service, etc. Only thing I gotta comment negatively on is how rude the bathroom attendant was in the men's bathroom. After washing my hands, I looked around the sink to dry my hands. There were a stack of paper towels in between the 2 sinks. The attendant was mopping, so I just grabbed a couple of paper towels to DRY my hands. Suddenly the bathroom attendant shouts, "HEY, WHY YOU TAKE THAT?! GET OUT!" He reacted like I stole some mints or whatever was displayed on the sink while I only took PAPER TOWELS TO DRY MY HANDS. He definitely needs an attitude check and could have been nicer about it. read more

It's a good place for Rave. I went here for Riot Ten and it was fun! They have a bar upstairs and two bars downstairs. The people there was nice. The security guard can be a bit mean yelling at you not to do certain things or kick you out if you look too sick. Also, follow the rave dressed code, guys can't wear shorts, they wont let you in. Overall, a bit small but great venue for rave. read more
