The Capri Sun is a must and contains Pink Whitney lemonade vodka, High Noon pineapple seltzer, and will definitely remind you of back in the day since it all comes in a pouch, too! The Espresso Martini is also another delicious choice and this contains espresso vodka, Mr. Black coffee liqueur, and Bailey's! The only reason for four stars I don't remember who it was that was bartending, but it took them a while to come over and say what's up...now, as a Bartender... Stopped by this spot and was really glad I did. The vibe is laid-back but still full of energy, and it's the kind of place where you can either hang out and talk or jump right into the fun. It's been a while since I've been to Mom's and was so happy to find that it hasn't changed. Went there for a group event. Cool spot, that is a whole lot bigger than you think. Love the lounge room in the back with the fireplace. Fun and reasonably priced drinks, and the bar tenders are great. Try their spiked capri sun drink that comes in a pouch. Great music when the DJ comes on. Would have taken pictures, but it's really too dark in there for them to show anything, so you'll have to use your imagination. read more

If you're looking for a "watering hole" this is what you've been looking for. Those of you who have seen my other reviews know that I prefer my bars on non-sports nights so I can chat with friends and other patrons. This is my second time here and the experience was equally enjoyable and exactly what I was looking for -- a good drink, a good place to sit and some good conversation. One INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT ingredient in this mis is the bar staff: very friendly without being overly solicitous, knowing exactly when to check in on your possible need for a next drink. Atmosphere: comfortable and relaxed, with pool tables (play was pretty mellow) and a pleasant surprise, an outdoor area and a small library style nook that makes you feel like you are in a drawing room club. Excellent selection of whiskeys (Irish and Scottish), and bourbons. I am told the vodka selections are pretty deep, and the tequila shelf (and its cousin mezcal) with look to be well stocked as far as selection. Happy Hour has very well priced beers and cocktails, and the complimentary potato chips were a nice touch (warning -- they will help you surpass your recommended daily allowance of sodium by about 820%). read more

My wife and I seem to just love every time we end up at Mom's. The coconut mate and white lotus are a couple of our fav drinks. The service is consistently good, Andy is our fav bartender!! Phoenix the bouncer was extremely rude. I literally thought he was joking when he told our group of 10 that we couldn't come in due to arriving in a party bus. I asked if he was serious and he said "I can tell you've been overserved." I was dead sober. The only reason our group was in a party bus was because we had been celebrating a friends birthday in Simi Valley and wanted to all ride back to LA together. It was truly a bizarre interaction. Really enjoyed this place! Went twice about two weeks ago on Wednesday and Thursday. Two pretty chill days for the bar. It's somewhat of a typical dive bar on the inside with the exception of their being more soace than a typical dive bar. There's the main bar area, the patio, and a whole back section of seating that gives more of a speakeasy vibe. The staff on both nights were very friendly, including the security on Wednesday night. It had rained so the patio was technically closed but he let us sit outside and even turned the fire thing on and placed it near us. That was kind. They also have a PING PONG table that goes away during the weekend or at least on Thursday it was gone in place of a DJ and dancing. Prices are decent. I had a margarita for 9$ and the DJ was fun. It took a second to get a lot of people dancing but he seemed to cater to what was more popular and what got people on the dance floor which I liked. I was super close to this bar at a hotel across the street so it's why I chose to go. I'm happy with that decision there's plenty of bars like this around but they have enough space and decent prices to rival the rest. Oh they also have a Photo Booth if that's your thing! read more

Very strange location. Behind a smart n final, and next to a lightbulb store. The last place you would look for a bar with a decent scene, but surprise surprise, here it is. Went on a Friday night, doorman was a bit cheeky but hey that's how most doormen are. Stepped inside and was surprised to find it packed, decent music and crowd, no one seems belligerent or bad vibes, drinks were pretty cheap for west LA, there's a nice quiet area behind the bar in the patio where you can get some air and room to talk. Dinged a star for how long it takes to get the bartenders attention and how crowded the entrance is, I don't feel like it'd be safe in a fire. TW: DRUGGED Wanna preface that I love this bar and have had great experience with bartenders and bouncers. This recent Friday night, I went with some friends to go dancing and have a few drinks. There was a LOT of people there and it was very lively. I drank around 4 drinks total and I'm not a lightweight so this should not have been enough to make me feel like wasted but probably a bit drunk. Anyway, we end up leaving and long story short I was drugged at the bar. Don't know how or who but We're talking, not able to speak, not able to walk... the wholeeeee thing. Very scary. My friends felt weird and sipped from my drink but I know I was on a whole other level. Also would get drinks alone at a very busy area so you never know. To my ladies, make sure you're watching your drinks and just be super careful as lots of college peps are roaming around. AGAIN. I love this bar and usually have such a lovely experience so wanted to just keep yall aware. Crazy people are everywhere. UPDATE: was able to talk with manager who was so kind and helpful with the report. He informed me that they have drug tests behind bar if you ever feel unsure. I came here at midnight to celebrate my 21st birthday a couple of weeks ago. I had SO much fun! The bartenders were so kind. I even got a birthday shot on the house. I loved the music, the other patrons were generally pretty nice, and the staff really helped me to enjoy my first night of being legal. I also thought it was funny how the bouncer laughed a little because I came EXACTLY at midnight. I totally would've laughed if I were him as well lol! Fridays and Saturday nights much like Another popular bar not too far off wilshire , this place gets super crowded quickly. If you don't want to wait in those amusement park lines, I'd suggest you get here before 9:30 pm. Same with the other. This place is cozy. Front -- very 'divey' except there's like a study/reading room with an astroturfed fireplace' tucked away in the back. Thrown into the mix is a patio area with lush astroturfed 'ivy walls' So there's a little bit of everything for everyone. However, Wasn't too keen on the crowd that night, nor the noise level. I feel this place definitely exceeded the capacity limit. dive bars with loud music and a DJ is not as good as a dive bar with an option for purchases at one of those 'everything' music kiosks.
