Amazing service- got a table. If you love to dance, this place is dope with good music. A great show. It's a cigar bar, so go if you don't mind smoke.

I had read the mixed reviews here before coming to La Descarga but decided to give it a try with a small group of friends nonetheless and enjoyed it. The entrance fee was $20 and there was a little line of less than 10 minutes when we came in the late evening. It was perfect timing for the burlesque/salsa performances, we had a good time! Giving it 4 stars because of the surrounding area which also could make parking at night a bit undesirable unless it is a well lit spot.

I had a really good time. Salsa dancing in the front, with a live band and a burlesque show. WOW! I am just glad I was able to get in, place gets packed. Back room is open air - so people are smoking cigarettes and cigars. Not really my favorite but you are able to still breathe. A nice size bar an huge dance floor. Table booths against the wall. Rigo was very helpful! Alexis not so much.

    Step isn't visible.

This Has been my favorite place to go dancing but unfortunately an Incident happened Friday evening 6/6/25 into 6/7/25 as I was walking to the restroom towards the back, did not see the lil step and missed it & fell, sprained my ankle. Ryan the "manager" requested to go to "office" and gave him my contact and name . His words "I will review cameras and call you tomorrow to see how you are feeling" it's Tuesday and has yet to call. Ryan never called to follow up. No Business card to provide. Lack of Lighting, No Safety signs, Trip hazard warning

Ask the Community - La Descarga

    Is there a cover?

If you just show up on a Friday or Saturday, I think it's $20. If you go on their website ladescarga.com you make a reservation and you can get in for free. You just have to make a reservation at least a week to four days in advance.

How do you book bottle service?

@ the club. Ask. I don't believe bottle service is an option.

Do they have a dance floor?

    Yes.

Hi! Are there salsa lessons here before dancing starts? On Friday nights or just Tuesday?

Tuesday is salsa lessons and Wednesday bachata

Can I show up with a small group without a reservation?

Yea but don't expect to sit and do expect to get covid

Is this place still open? The phone number doesn't work and neither does the website.

Yes but their terrible about communication

Is this venue still open because the listed phone number does not work? How do you reserve a table?

Do they have a coat check in during winter?

No, no coat check or valet parking

Hi does anyone know if we need a vax card or will a negative test suffice?

They only asked for vax card and never offered a negative test. So going to say they require vax card.

Are they open on Christmas Eve?

    No they are not

Dress Code Question-- If i'm wearing a dress to the club, can I wear clean sneakers instead of…

You can wear whatever you want. Dress code is a joke.

What kind of music do they play?

    Salsa mostly

I emailed to reserve a table. Management hasn't gotten bac to me about reservations- any tips or advice for those looking for a table? (Any updated Phone number?)

Unless you're getting bottle service. They will email you back. It's all about money with them

    R they opened?

Went on Wednesday , 5/5 and looked very much closed :'(

Is this place open, if so what are the new hours?

    8pm-1:45am Tuesday-Saturday

    Is it 18+?

    21+, no exceptions

Considering the requested attire do they have a coat room?

Hilarious question... once you know... Yes is the answer. You'll see what I mean ;)

Is there an instructor giving Salsa lessons on Tuesday nights?

    Yes there is!

Hello! How do we go about getting a reservation? We submitted a request online & emailed. No response... we would love to celebrate our bachelor / bachelorette at la descarga on Saturday March 7th?

I wish it was easier, but this is a known issue with La Descarga. My best advice is to keep trying... and show up early :)

Is there any live music on Thursdays, typically?

    Yes

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

Nearby were draped booths that would be perfect for a more romantic evening. Our server was, Haley...she was incredible. Very personable, helpful and extremely professional. You'll be in good hands if you're lucky enough to get her! Then the food...Wow. My wife and my sister got the filet migons, watching my wife's euphoric reaction of taking her fist bite made my evening! Omg...thankfully, my wife let me try garlic fries that came with the filets, and they were the best I ever had! I got the Langostino Fettuccine...outstanding. You have to dig a little spicy, which I do...but the vodka cream sauce is the real highlight of this dish. For deserts we got the apple cobbler, the creme brulee and sticky toffee cake. All three were fantastic. But I preferred the cobbler and the toffee cake the most. We didn't get the Le Petit Gateau, their chocolate cake...but we decided to get one to go! HA...it's unbelievably rich and pretty tall and big. It's topped with candied wild cheries...it's two days later and we're still eating this yummy treat. However, the reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the valet parking experience. First, I was charged $25 even though the sign clearly stated that valet parking is $17 for the first 3 hours, and $25 after 3 hours. Our reservation was at 6:30 PM, we arrived on time, and we left before 9 PM, so the charge did not make sense. When I asked the valet attendant, he kept saying, "because you dined there," without giving any clear explanation. If it is actually a flat rate for restaurant guests, then that should be clearly stated upfront to customers. Second, when I got into my car, I noticed that someone had touched the navigation settings because the compass direction and display were different from what I normally use. I do not understand why there was any need to adjust or touch my navigation system at all. I really think the restaurant needs to improve and better manage its valet parking system. Honestly, it felt like I was being charged a random price just because I was told, "you dined there." If there is a flat valet rate for restaurant guests, that information should be clearly communicated upfront instead of leaving customers confused at the end.
