We have been coming here for a while now but I don't know what was different tonight. We drove only 10 minutes and the bread was soggy and in pieces from the torta. The tacos were burnt and tossed into the containers we got asada nachos asked for no avocado or salsa and we got it. Ok so I'm back to try this spot in Tracy on 11th and east st. It is so much better and now they have a card machine!!! Whoo hoo!!! Device is always good ambiance for a small taco spot Is great!! The old copper cat from back in the day!! Food is very good!! I got three lengua tacos with a ceviche tostada and a horchata drink for 21 bux !! Not to bad! Wish they did a taco Tuesday's thing!! My goodness, my husband drove me crazy wanting to try this place. Finally today, I give in and agree this would be lunch for today. yelp, you guessed it was absolutely the worst steak taco I've had, ever. The only thing I kept telling my husband was the previous reviews were written for a reason. We ate there, and when my husband placed the two tacos in front of my face, the food immediately melt as though the meat was rotten and were cooked on the same grilled with some sort of fishy ingredient. We used to come here for its Tacos and Burritos not because it was the best in town, but because of the value. The quality of the food here is very inconsistent. Sometimes it is too wet or sloppy, sometimes it is too dry. The cook or the order taker also could never get our order right. Sometimes we get the the wrong meat, and often we don't get the ingredients we requested to be removed/added, Now it is 2026 and the value is definitely GONE. A simple, low quality burrito is now $10. Unlike Starbucks and McDonalds, this business still has not realized that their high prices have driven away customers who come for the value. Growing up and going to Tracy High meant that La Costa was a part of your weekly diet. It still tastes just as good as it did then only now I'm not sure how a high school kid could afford to eat here. Was $3.75 for a pastor burrito is 2008. I've come here for five years maybe more and I've always enjoyed the food. I got a burrito there for the first time in months and have had the worst food poisoning ever. WORST BURRITO & QUESADILLA!!! My boyfriend had shown me this spot a while ago and I wanted to come back but I was highly disappointed. The cashier was polite but the person who gave me my food looked very UNFRIENDLY. My "quesadilla" was given to me in a bag instead of a to-go box which was odd but I tried to ignore it. I've always been treated incredibly well at this restaurant. The staff has always given me 5 Star service, and have gone above and beyond to ensure I was accommodated and provided with care and respect. The food tastes great, and has always filled me up. I've been to other restaurants in the area but they never provide me with the same treatment and courtesy as the team here does. Don't get me wrong, La Costa is one of the best. If not the best taqueria in town. However, the last few months they completely changed their chicken that they use for tacos and burritos. Now, they include these gross onions that are completely slimy when you get them inside of whatever you've ordered. Now. This is completely different than it has been over the last 10 years. I ordered one the other day Saturday I believe, but I am for sure going to be sticking with shrimp only. It's disgusting now this chicken. They said they did it for flavor, but their flavor of the chicken was the reason we kept coming back! I think they're just trying to bulk it up for cost saving purposes. My husband goes at least twice a week for lunch and his co-workers as well but they have all said the same thing about this new chicken that they're putting out there. Just super not good anymore. I'm not sure if the one on 11th. Is he doing the same thing or not, we don't have the guts to go even put money out there to find out. Good luck! I do highly recommend the shrimp though! Met a friend here for dinner. They have a pretty large outdoor seating area under an awning. You order at the counter and pay. And they'll call you when your food is ready. You can get it for here or to go. I think I saw a door off to the side- maybe it leads to an indoor area. Anyways, I wasn't starving so I only got three tacos. It's not a bad deal at $2 per taco. ($3 for shrimp and lengua, I believe). I tried the pastor, carnitas and the asada. I would say the pastor was my favorite but they all had decent flavor. We just sat and chatted till almost closing time and they were cleaning all around us. Haha. My friend also got a burrito for $8. It's a pretty solid inexpensive meal. read more

I usually never give bad reviews, but this place has the worst food. Their "Agua Chile" is not an authentic agua chile. They added Guacamole sauce to the shrimp,and they consider it " Agua chile ". I placed an order for pick up and the service over the phone was super helpful. This place does not serve breakfast. I ordered a pastor burrito and asked what it came with and it was onions, cilantro, rice, salsa, cheese and sour cream! So, be sure to ask for what is in your burrito just in case you can't eat something :) The store was very clean inside! Food came out amazing! Great local La Costa! I will for sure be coming back. This particular La Costa is a good option for a quick bite. Their food is actually pretty decent and authentic. They don't skimp on ingredients either which we totally appreciate. Their salsas are deliciously spicy and flavorful. I really recommend their carnitas tacos and my husband loooves their ceviche or shrimp tostadas. Honestly, we haven't had a bad dish here. The only downside to this particular location is its cash only and they could use a little help with cleanliness in the seating area as well as the counter where people are paying. The seating is outdoor which makes a great hangout in the summer but in the winter, we just take our plates and eat in our car. Try not to use the restroom if possible as it is a universal restroom and the men seem to get a little free in there. All in all, it's a good spot to take and go. Every time we go to Tracy we pick up tacos here. I have to say their El Pastor is incredible! The last two times we bought a car at Tracy Honda, we brought home tacos from La Costa! I admit, this has the unfortunate side effect of making your new car smell like tacos, but if I could buy that air freshener I would! I came here with a friend for lunch yesterday and I will soon be a regular! It is a great little taqueria with outdoor seating and foliage, music & décor that make you feel like you have been transported to a little town somewhere far away. The weather was gorgeous and the cool breeze made sitting outside chatting very enjoyable. I ordered two chicken tacos and my bill was $3.50! Unbelievable! Not to mention they were delicious! Luckily I had cash on me, which I usually do not, because this establishment is cash only which I do not care for. The service was fine and the tables were clean. Really like coming to this spot, most of the time really good burritos. This is based on several visits not just one. A majority of the time there Regular Carne Asada burritos are great and every now and then ill get the super. There has been once or twice when my burrito had a bit too much oil, but I wont complian as most or times its great. They are very quick to get orders out as much as they can. Appreciate the cook and the young ladies working at the front taking orders. Typically they give you one lemon slice with one burrito. I Asked for extras lemons and young lady at the front added them no problem. I usually go to the one by the high school but I was in the area, so f*ck it, right? WRONG. I get the Cheviche with a SIDE of cilantro (comes in foil) and a raw, not soaked jalapeno. Not at this one. "We don't have raw jalapenos" what Mexican restaurant doesn't? A Mexi-can't restaurant. The cilantro was piled up to the top of inside my cup of half cup of Cheviche. Make sure you check your orders before leaving. Today I ordered carne asada super nachos got back to work and no meat! I called they seemed helpful but I'm not going to go back for more nachos today or tomorrow. Asked for next week they said no. I said I will never go back again and hopefully others understand my frustration that this place isn't accommodating to realize someone's not going to eat nachos twice in a day or tomorrow for a second day in a row.
