I haven't had a chance to come here in awhile. Their consistency and good food is a big draw. I went with their three tacos, one in asada and two in al pastor. As always they have a great al pastor taco as well as their asada. The seasoning they use to make their asada and al pastor is quite wonderful. Cannot beat their $1.50 tacos on Wednesday and Fridays. I come at least a couple times a month. It's not just the affordable price, but I truly enjoy their al pastor meat. I've had al pastor at other spots in Tracy, and Maguey's just knows how to do it right. The meat is seasoned so well. One of the sons is usually there to take our order and he's always welcoming and friendly. Wish they were open later. They close at 8pm. Burrito with the bbq chicken and the queso birria tacos were so good ! Didn't get any photos of the tacos but they were a good size. The burrito was insanely big and was $15 which was a little pricey but with the flavor and size it was all made up for. Cashier was very sweet and let us take our time ordering. The best taco place around! I've been here at least 10 times and it's always a great meal. It's in a strip mall area but inside is clean and spacious. Very comfortable to dine in for a quick lunch. The deals are awesome - in the picture on the pink poster board. The team is so nice! Always friendly and smiling. The food is great - their tacos are awesome paired with the salsa bar and chips. I was so disappointed. The food was so nasty. They had little to no vegetarian options so I ordered a veggie torta. The bread had grated cheese, onion, tomato and a bunch of wet watery lettuce that left the bread all soggy and the bag it came in all wet and messy. To top it off the young girl charged me 1 dollar extra. Anyway I would not recommend. It's a waste of money and time. read more

Randomly found this place after an appointment I had in Tracy and was looking to get some food. Place was clean, I received my food super fast, and my asada quesadilla was good. I like that when you purchase food you get a bag to get some tortilla chips, also their condiment bar was full of things to put on your food. 4 different salsas, lemons, onions, lots of stuff. My coworker recommended their chilaquiles and even sitting 1/2 an hour on the drive to Livermore they had great flavor! The food is really good. We go there quite often. The owner is really nice and the employees are very friendly.

I usually don't write reviews, but I have to warn all potential customers. The Menudo is the worst I have ever had. So salty and had too many bones, even tasted old and not fresh. Also, during my visit, while I waited for my food, I observed the floors dirty, and the cook even touched several items with his hands ( pork, beef, chicken, vegetables, and cheese ) talk about cross-contamination. Not once did he wash his hands or even wear gloves. I definitely will NEVER come back to this place. Eat at your own risk! read more

Go to taqueria in Tracy for some $1 tacos. They have a lot of special everyday. My daughter loves this place. She like her taco just cilantro only and carne asada. She can eat at least 5. It's just a basic taqueria, nothing special but the food is good. Sometimes simple is better. Straight basic. Good job. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I had Taqueria Maguey for the first time. And we loved it! I had a super shrimp burrito and my husband got pastor and asada tacos with a side of rice. I did like my burrito but I felt like I should have added like asada with it lol. It was good, but it was just missing something. The food came out super fast and they had fresh chips. Good grief! I wasn't even going to do this because we devoured our breakfast before I could take any pictures of it. I've lived here in Upland for many years, and I've been here several times throughout those years. I now live much closer by downtown Upland. Sent the hubby to get us a breakfast. I got the chilaquiles, and he got the breakfast burrito. That chilaquiles are amazing! Hubby's burrito was fields with everything that was delicious. Five stars from me! I was tickled to find this little gem in Tracy not far from the freeway. Old-school prices and portions, great salsa bar, and service with a smile. I went Sunday afternoon around 4:00pm, no wait, but steady flow of customers. I ordered the Carne Asada Super Nachos and a Pollo Asado Taco. The nachos were great - no complaints. The taco was a little bland, but that could just be the simplicity of the grilled chicken which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They have DOLLAR TACOS! This is unheard of nowadays. So good and so affordable! Came in Friday for the $1 tacos and Monday for the BOGO burritos. Al pastor and carne asada were both tender and flavorful! Only thing I would say is some of the tacos fell apart despite the double tortilla. The BOGO burrito special is for regular burritos but I was able to upgrade to super for an extra charge. They also offer free chips and a salsa bar! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back. read more

Have been here numerous times since the COVID........All my food continues to be delicious and always packed with care. Today I picked up some tacos.....Chile verde, carne asada, al pastor and barbacoa. I also ordered pico de gallo and some green salsa for something I'm making over the weekend. Update: Just had their pozole and it is awesome. Tuesday special! I came across Taqueria Maguey while driving past Tracy to greener pastures on the other side since no one ever says let's hang out in Tracy... unless you are looking for meth. And rather than eat at fast-food chains I really do try my best to eat local. So instead of eating at one of the newly constructed joints on the west side of the 205 like the burger joint that scares away people with peanut allergies or the supposedly German hot dog place, I decided to check out Taqueria Maguey since I love tequila and mescal. While Taqueria Maguey is named after the agave plant that tequila is made from, sadly no tequila is served here. Just cerveza. Look, I'm no taco connoisseur, but I eat tacos so often that my wife thinks I may have some Mexican blood in me. And had the US not invaded Mexico in the 1840s, I may have been a Mexican citizen since I was born in Alta California. Anyways... I enjoyed Taqueria Maguey because they have a great salsa bar with complimentary chips and their prices are really affordable. I initially ordered 4 tacos: carne asada, al pastor, pollo adobado and carnitas. The carne asada was good, but the al pastor and pollo adobado were forgettable. The saving grace though was the bombass carnitas taco. The carnitas taco was so crispy and good I ended up ordering two more. I'm sure that there was lard in it because lard is addictive like meth and should just be renamed Mexican MSG. It came with a pico de gallo topping and when I added a squeeze of lime and their red sauce the flavors really came to life causing a fiesta en mi boca. If I ever need to stop by Tracy to take a piss and grab some grub, I will definitely be back because the carnitas was that dios mio good. ¡Serio! * Now I know what you're thinking. The place is very cute and has a lot of potential but the food wasn't great. Pros: Salsa bar and chips Great decor, good vibe friendly cashier Cons: Shrimp taco only had 1 shrimp in it. For $2.50 I'd expect at least a few. And it wasn't very good either. Chips and salsa tasted stale. We also got nachos and I had terrible stomach cramps that night which usually only happens to me when I eat old food or stale leftovers. I don't think the food is fresh. read more

Did you know that Taqueria Maguey does catering? Well they do and it's Awesome! Each year, I put together a tailgate party for my co-workers at a Stockton Ports baseball game. Last year, I asked Javier if he could cater the event for us and he agreed. He and his portable tacos were such a huge hit, my co-workers made sure I hired him again for this years event. Javier brings everything needed to get your eat on. Three different types of meat, salsas, condiments and even a tent. The cost was about $240 dollars. This year, I had over 25 co-workers and about 10 of the Ports Staff roll through for a bite. Like last years event, this years tailgate was a huge success thanks to Javier and his son.
